Money Troubles
Darren and Samuel live in a respectable two-bed apartment in Chatsworth, in northern Los Angeles. Up until recently Samuel was working at a media agency but it closed down and he found himself redundant - finding another job was proving harder than expected. Times were tight relying on just one salary to keep the household running. A letter received that morning was bad news, but Samuel had no idea things were about to get much worse...
A few hours earlier than expected, the apartment door opened and Darren walked in. He slammed the door shut behind him, dropped his bag on the floor then raised two clenched fists and gave out a yell of frustration! Samuel rushed to his side - "What's up, babe?" he asked.
"They let me go," Darren said. "I can't believe it but they actually let me go. I mean, sales are down and we're not bringing in the kind of deals we used to, but I didn't think my position was at risk yet. Apparently the business is being restructured, and I'm not part of that future. So they pushed me out. Effective immediately."
He looked sadly at Samuel. "They'll pay me to the end of the month, and they'll keep our insurance running for a month after that, but that's it. We don't have savings to fall back on any more, so we'll need to find new jobs soon, or take your mother up on her offer to move to her farm in Kansas."
Samuel shook his head. "I can't go back. I escaped once and if I go back now I think that'll be it: I'll just end up growing wheat, and growing old. There's no life for us there."
"I don't know what other choice we have," said Darren. "You've been looking for a couple months now and there's just no jobs. The market will pick up eventually, but we just don't have time."
"I don't want to leave LA," said Samuel. "I like this place. Oh - but we received this today as well." He handed over the envelope.
Darren scanned the letter inside. "Rent going up again? We can't afford this. Even with my job this wouldn't be viable. Sam, honey, this is too much, we can't stay here."
"I'm not leaving!" Samuel pouted. "I don't want to move, so we''ll just have to work something out. Whatever we need to do, I want to stay."
"Okay," soothed Darren. "I'll think of something."
A Great Idea
Darren lay awake all night, but by the morning he had a great idea. After a significant amount of research online, he was ready to propose his solution.
"You don't want to leave, and you're willing to do whatever it takes to stay, right? he asked.
"Of course," Samuel said. "You have a plan?"
"Well," said Darren. "I was thinking about those cam sites. People go on a live webcam, put on a show and viewers send tips. It's basically free money. You don't get a lot for a single show, but if you do it regularly and get regular viewers... I think we can make this work."
"You want us to fuck on camera?" Samuel asked.
"Oh! No," said Darren. "There's too much competition to make that work. But I think there's a market for submission play, letting the viewers play the dom. I think that's our market. We take viewer requests, dominating a cute boy in exchange for tips, that kind of thing. And you'll be the star."
Samuel looked incredulous. "Is that really possible? I mean, if we can make enough money that way I'm up for giving it a go. Anything's better than Kansas."
"Of course, we'll have to get you a fuck-machine," said Darren. "That's pretty much going to be expected I think."
"You know I've always wanted to try one of those," Samuel said. "But they're pretty expensive."
"That's just business. We can probably claim it as an expense! Okay, that's decided then. Tomorrow we'll get everything together and see how it goes."
The following day, Samuel was sent out to pick up some new lights and a high-definition webcam. Darren researched and then ordered a good quality fuck-machine, and in the evening while watching TV set up an account on a popular site.
The Next Day
Early the next morning, the doorbell rang. While the delivery guy was fiddling with his tablet, Darren turned and called behind him "Sam! The fuck-machine's here!" The delivery guy refused to make eye contact as Darren scribbled his name on the line, and beat a hasty retreat.
Dragging the box into the lounge, Samuel eyed it carefully. "That's a pretty big box," he said. "And it looks heavy."
"Oh, don't be such a big baby," said Darren. Opening the box and pulling out all the parts, he soon had it put together. He plugged it in and played with the controls while Samuel watched over his shoulder.
"So, want to give it a try?" asked Darren.
"Yeeess..." said Samuel cautiously. "Maybe this evening."
