After another boring weekend at home drinking beer, smoking dope and just hanging out with my girlfriend my friends and their girlfriends, we decided to go camping in the mountains as soon as we could all go. We made all the arrangements and reservations and we were all set to go in two weeks. I was a city boy and this would be our first camping trip, separately or together.
My girlfriend and I rented a tent and all the gear we would need, a whitegas stove and lantern, and sleeping bags. I swear the camping gear sales associate saw us coming because he convinced us we needed way more than we did. We were going to a fully developed state park camping ground that was equipped with a park store, cafe and snack bar, yet he convinced me we needed dehydrated food and beverage and we needed to rent cookware as well. I'm just glad he didn't tell us we needed backpacks.
The first night we all sat around the campfire drinking beer, toking and talking. The great outdoors was beginning to have an effect on the two of us and we soon excused ourselves to retire to our tent for the night. I don't know what it is that makes everyone randy sitting around a campfire, but it surely was affecting us.
