I was driving along the road singing along to the tunes on the radio, enjoying the last bit of sunshine pouring through the windows before the sunset. I'd be pondering stopping somewhere for food before I got home rather than cooking, it being just me at home since my divorce. I ran suggestions through in my mind, the journey getting a little tedious on this long straight road back to my home town. I heard my phone, on the passenger seat next to me, beep with a notification. I clicked the screen to quickly check what it was, and then it happened.
I felt the bump first, at the rear of the car, and a quick scraping of metal. I quickly pulled over at the side of the road and then got out of the car to check the damage. As I got to the rear passenger side and saw the scratches and dents, I heard a shrill shriek from a female voice.
"What the fuck were you doing, look at my car," she cried out.
I looked to see a slim-built young girl, hair dyed bright red, striding towards me, anger in her eyes. I looked past her to the junction where her car had come from.
"I'm driving on a straight road, you pulled out of the junction and rear-ended me," I told her.
"Yeah, it was your fault though babe," I heard a male voice say.
I looked in his direction to see a youngish guy walking towards her. I guessed they were both around nineteen years old. He looked towards me and then down at the floor, trying to hide his guilt.
"Well he was driving far too slow then!" the girl blurted out.
She stood in front of me now, around 5' 8" tall, eyes wide and staring, looking up at me to gauge my response. Being 6' 3" tall and around twice the weight of her male friend, I was guessing he wasn't in the mood for any arguments.
"He's right, it was your fault. Now, what are we going to do about it?" I told her.
I crouched to survey the damage to both cars, glancing up at the girl as I did so. She was very pretty, and the summer dress she wore complimented her very well, but I noticed the buttons weren't done up properly. Just under her breasts, there was a gap where one of the buttons had been missed, enough of a gap for me to see the black lace material. I bemoaned the dress being quite loose so couldn't see how big they were. I glanced away again, then back and let my eyes wander down her shapely legs and back up, where I saw her watching me while biting her lip.
"Luckily I'm a mechanic, and while we'll be able to drive there away it's going to cost around Β£200 to fix them as good as new," I announced.
I heard the guy sigh loudly, and he pulled a face at her.
"I'll need some details," I asked.
"I'm Terri and this is Jack," she blurted out. I laughed.
"Terri, a lovely name for a lovely girl," I smiled, "but I meant details for the insurance."
They looked at each other and both shrugged. I stood up straight, Terri turning to face me. She put her hand lightly on my chest.
"Look mister, I'm sorry okay, but I can't, erm, do that," Terri said.
I looked at her, waiting for an explanation. Terri didn't speak.
"She's not insured, not for this car anyway," Jack said, "and neither am I, it's my dad's car."
I listened, looked back at the car, and sighed. It made sense, it was an older car, an estate with a long boot, not the kind of car that young people drove these days.
"So, you have the cash then, or we can drive to a cash machine?" I asked.
They both looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders again.
"No, neither of us has that kind of money," Jack responded.
"And Jack's dad will kill us if he finds out," Terri moaned, sliding her hand across my chest again.
"He doesn't know you've taken it does he?" I asked.
Jack shook his head no, and Terri explained that when he went out for the night they'd use the car so they could... She blushed before finishing explaining, then blurted out they used it as a passion wagon. Jack looked back at the floor, Terri watching for my reaction. That explained the buttons, I guessed they'd been playing, on heat before getting to wherever they were headed, and Terri had had to do up the dress quickly before getting out.
"So, you can't go through the insurance and you don't have the money to pay for the repairs, so what are you suggesting?" I asked, "Are you even old enough to be driving?"
"Yes, we're both eighteen," Jack answered.
Terri looked towards Jack and seemed to mouth something, Jack shaking his head to say no.
"Well that's where we were going anyway," Terri smiled.
"Yes, me and you were," Jack groaned.
"What's the idea then?" I asked.
Terri turned slowly to face me, then bit her lip as she started to slowly pull up the dress at the front, staring at me as she showed she wasn't wearing knickers. She squatted a little, pushing her thighs apart, and smiled broadly at me.
"Will this do?" she giggled.
