So, before we begin, I'd just like to briefly touch on what this story actually is. I came across a board game in Tabletop Simulator called, Dignity Dash.
The premise of the game is that you have awoken on a beach on the other side of town, completely naked and now must streak all the way back home. Along the way, you'll encounter situations that will embarrass and humiliate you. Each player is given 15 DP (Dignity Points) to start with.
You lose DP when you get caught naked or otherwise make a fool of yourself, but you can gain DP when you go unnoticed or otherwise make yourself or your nudity look good. You get through these situations by rolling a dice, with the number you get determining how successful you are in getting through it.
Think if it like rolling for initiative in DnD. Complete with some event cards coming with a critical failure or even a critical success condition. Everything you're about to read is directly based on what happened when I played the game myself as Diego, Rina and the various other characters in further sessions. All the scenarios and how they got through it, is based on said game sessions.
A few creative liberties were taken such as the framing device, but otherwise everything is based on how it went. Also, I usually do two of these sessions, so certain parts of the story, aside from the actual game itself might be the same between 2 sessions.
It was sundown in Small Town and a young woman named Rina was walking through the city. She got some burgers and two drinks for herself and Diego. She didn't want to ride her bike due to her not wanting to spill the drinks.
But as she was walking past an alleyway, a woman in a hoodie got her attention. "Psst. Hey! You!"
Rina turned around and saw her. "Yeah, you! Come here..."
She did and this mystery woman had a table set up with a selection of toys and games on display. "See anything you like?"
She was confused. "Why are you selling toys like it's a black market sort of deal?"
"Let's just say that these aren't your average play things..."
The mysterious saleswoman started to peddle her wares. "Can I interest you in a genuine voodoo doll? Control the minds of anyone with this cute little dolly. Just needs one piece of hair or personal belonging to bring it to life. Becomes anatomically correct depending on who you're controlling."
Rina thought about it but realized she already could do that to Diego for free. "How about this boomerang? Causes who ever holds it to become their exact opposite in terms of personality."
She gestured to said boomerang on the table. There was a post it note on it that said, "Warning: do not touch with bare hands."
Rina was tempted but then she saw a box. It was a box with what looked to be a naked couple on it. They were hiding in a bush surrounded by disembodied eyes. She had a blush as she saw that the couple on the box looked humiliated.
"I see you have your eyes on Dignity Dash."
"Dignity Dash?"
"Yes, it's a very special board game of my own creation. You and up to 4 players have woken up on the beach and have to make your way back to your home, naked."
"Wow...sounds...interesting?" Rina said, kind of put off by this.
"Oh it is. The game is very immersive and somewhat magical. Play it with the right person and you'll achieve a new level of intimacy. It's guaranteed to make your wildest fantasies come true..."
The saleswoman's eyes seemed to shine as she said that. Rina felt like there was something both strange...and familiar about her.
"How much is it?"
"5 bucks."
"Five dollars for a board game!?"
"Yup...want it?"
"Heck yes! That's a bargain!"
The money was exchanged and the board game was given to Rina. She put it in her canvas bag and walked off. The saleswoman got her stock and took her little stand inside. She put a few of the items in a chest and went to her room. Amongst her belongings was a few occult items. One of which was a crystal ball.
As she looked into it, she saw a view of the inside of a certain red canvas bag. She smiled as she waited with baited breath for the games to begin.
Diego was waiting for Rina in her living room to get back to her house. He could taste those burgers already. As he played one of her games to pass the time, he heard her front door open and close.
"Diego! I'm back!"
"Finally, what took so long?"
She took the box out of her bag and hid it behind her back "I got a surprise for you..."
"Oh...good. You know how much I love your surprises." he said sarcastically.
"It involves nudity..."
"Even better." he said even more sarcastically.
"Oh don't be a big baby, it's not real nudity."
Diego reached into her bag and got his food. As he chowed down he saw her bring out the box. He looked at it and realized what she meant by that. "Really? A game about public nudity?"
"Yup...hehe. Now you can show off that teenie weenie in board game form."
"I'll pass."
"What, you're afraid I'm gonna beat ya?"
"No. I just would love for me not to be naked for once."
"Oh come on! How about this? If you win, I'll get naked for you. How about that?"
Diego thought about it for a bit. "This game doesn't involve us stripping, does it?"
"I'm not sure. Haven't played this before. It only cost 5 dollars anyway. If it sucks then we'll do something else."
"5 dollars, huh? Fine, set it up."
She placed the box on the living room floor. "Couldn't we play this on your kitchen table or something?"
"Board games are more fun on the floor."
"What? Who thinks that?"
"I do. Now let's play!"
Diego shook his head...he swore that she was from the circus sometimes. She was a bit weird but, maybe that's why he's...
"Ahem. Diego?"
"Oh right, sorry. Heh." he said, distracted by his own thoughts,
He opened the box and saw that there was nothing but the board, the pieces and a slip of paper. Both of them looked at what looked to be an incomplete board game.
"Five dollars, huh? Guess you got what you paid for..." he said, looking at her with a smirk.
"I GOT SCAMMED! UGH!!"
"Alright, this can't be it. Let me see what this paper says."
Diego looked over the paper. "Step 1: Pick your piece."
He picked blue and Rina picked red. "Step 2: Place your piece on the start space."
They did so. "Step 3: With all players having a hand on their piece, player 1 will now say "Let the games commence!"
Both of them had their hands on the pieces as he said that.
...Nothing happened.
"What's the next step?"
"That's the last step."
"Well, that's lame." said Rina, about to stand up and leave the game.
...But she couldn't. "Diego...I can't get my hand off the piece."
"...I can't either!"
They couldn't move. It was like the board suddenly weighed a ton. At that moment, the board started to emit a bright light.
