DAMN DOG
I live in a condo with my dog Tippy. I broke up with my boyfriend a few weeks ago, so it's just me and Tippy. Tippy is a lab mix. He weighs about sixty pounds and is not fully trained. He has a mind of his own. I let him run in my backyard. It's a small yard. There are shrubs on each side and a wooden fence running along the back of the condo property.
I was getting ready for work one morning when I heard the damn dog barking. I had just gotten out of the shower. The neighbor's pint-sized dog had wandered into our yard and he and Tippy were facing off, growling. I had to stop it immediately or Tippy might hurt the little dog. So, I opened the back door and called for Tippy. When he wouldn't come, I ran into the yard, holding my towel. At the same time, the neighbor, who's dog it was, a guy named Todd, had come out of the next-door condo to get his dog too. I managed to get hold of Tippy and Todd had his dog by the collar. He apologized for his dog coming in my yard and pulled the dog back into his yard.
When he pulled his dog away, Tippy lunged toward it. He pulled my arm that was trying to hold him and my towel came undone and started to fall away. I let go of the dog to grab the towel but ended up with neither. The damn dog grabbed the towel and, acting like it was a game, ran off with it. I started chasing Tippy across into the neighbor's yard. I was naked. Todd saw what was happening and when Tippy ran near him, he chased after the dog and caught him, grabbing his collar. His dog, Baxter, was now into the game and grabbed the towel when Tippy dropped it. Todd led my dog by the collar toward me. Then I fully realized that I was walking toward him completely nude.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry and I'm so embarrassed." I said.
He smiled as he continued to approach me with the dog, "No problem. I don't mind at all."
I thanked him and took hold of Tippy and led him back toward my back door. Todd had a great view of my bare ass as I led the dog away. He quickly took a few photos with his phone. I went back to my yard and was tying the dog to his outdoor leash. Todd had followed me with my towel that he had rescued from his dog. He handed it to me. It was dirty from being dragged all over the yard. Todd stood right in front of me and handed me the towel. I started to wrap it around me but realized there was no point in doing that. My neighbor had seen everything and I didn't want to get the dirt from the towel on me.
I tried to think of something clever to say. "Thank you. I'd invite you in for coffee, but I'm late for work." I was kidding, but I think he took my comment seriously.
"I'd like that." He said and walked away smiling from ear to ear.
I walked back into the house, embarrassed as I could be. I hoped none of our other neighbors had seen me.
While at work, I was thinking if I should thank Todd again or just forget about what had happened. I was sure he wouldn't forget it and thought it would be snooty of me to ignore him and act like it hadn't happened. I could bake some cookies for him except I couldn't bake very well. I wondered, if I gave him something would he think I was coming on to him? He was kind of cute and I had noticed him before, but had not had exchanged anything more than a polite greeting with him.
I picked up a small cake on the way home. I wasn't sure if I was going to give it to Todd, but I had it just-in-case.
I got home at my usual time and had my dinner. I fed the damn dog and took him outside. I looked over and Todd was sitting on his patio reading a magazine. He saw me and said hello. I waved back and walked to the boundary of our two yards.
"Thank you again for helping with my dog this morning." I started.
He said, "I should be apologizing to you. My dog was in your yard and you gave quite a show if you don't mind me saying so."
I said, "I'm so embarrassed. I hope I didn't gross-you-out."
He replied, "On the contrary. As a gentleman, I will not mention it anymore."
"I'll bet I looked ridiculous running around naked chasing my dog?"
He laughed, "I know it was wrong, but I took a few photos. I promise not to share them with anyone."
I said, "Let me see them."
He said "Sure, I need to get my phone, come on over."
