Dahlia hung up the telephone and stared thoughtfully out of the office window at the darkening city. It had been a few months since she and Rob had ended their affair, finally admitting to each other that the problems of family, business and the sheer distance between them was making their relationship impossible. Now, suddenly, here he was calling her and asking if she wanted to go to dinner with him "for old-times sake".
The warm rich sound of his voice had brought back a flood of memories and emotions Dahlia thought she had successfully buried. Even as she heard her voice agree, she wondered at the wisdom of seeing him again. She chided herself for being silly. After all, he was only in town for one night and just wanted to have dinner with an old friend. Having rationalized it neatly to herself, she picked up her keys and her purse then headed home to get ready.
Traffic was heavy and left her little time to shower and change before there was a light knock on her door. Quickly smoothing her dark hair, she opened it and was surprised at the sudden rush of pleasure seeing him again brought her.
A slow, appreciative smile spread across his handsome face. "Well, hello Gorgeous. You certainly are a sight for sore eyes. If you are ready, I have a car waiting downstairs."
Dahlia grabbed her coat and followed him to the elevator. "A car? We could taken mine."
Rob merely smiled again. "Indulge me. I wanted tonight to be special."
As they walked across the lobby, she felt the months of separation slip away. With his arm resting comfortably around her waist, they stepped into the cool night air. At the base of the steps, purred a black, stretch limousine and a crisply uniformed chauffeur standing ready at the door. He opened the door and held it for them, touching his cap in a respectful greeting. "Good evening, ma'am."
She waited until Rob had settled into the soft leather beside her, before asking "You have my curiosity piqued. Where are we going in such style?"
He handed her glass of champagne that the driver had thoughtfully poured from them. "I remember you saying you had never been to the casino, so I thought I'd take you there. Since it is a bit of a drive, it seemed sensible let somebody else drive while we catch up on old times."
The champagne bubbles tickled her nose as she slipped from the glass. Whether it was the wine or the nearness of his warm body after a few slips she began to feel pleasantly warm. As they talked about small things, briefing each other on the tiny events in their lives, she found herself watching the twinkle in his eye and the sensuous curve to his full lips.
She lifted her hand and traced the outline of his lips, remembering the feel of his mouth on her body and long passionate kisses in the heart of the night. As the tips of her fingers stroked softly across the strong line of his jaw and down his neck, Dahlia could feel the slow, steady rhythm of his heart.
Rob held his breath, afraid any sound or movement might halt the movement of her slow exploration of his body. As she glanced at Rob's face, he recognised the sultry look of desire in her dark eyes and felt a rush of anticipation run down his spine. Her hands moved down in front of his shirt, unfastening in the buttons and slipping under the crisp material to stroke over the flesh of his chest.
A movement by the driver made Rob look up and catch the amused smile on the chauffeur's face. He leaned close to Dahlia's ear and whispered "We have an audience."
Dahlia tilted her head back and slipped her hand behind his neck to draw his mouth down to hers. "Then let's give him a show to remember."
Her lips had the feel of smooth silk as they brushed across his, parting, welcoming and the exotic fragrance of her perfume filled his senses. Their tongues touched in a warm, familiar dance that stirred not only his heart and soul but his cock as well. Reaching for her, he lifted her onto his lap and slid her tight, red dress up over her hips so she could straddle his legs. His hand slid up her back and slowly tugged the zipper down until her dress fell loosely from her shoulders. Dahlia sighed as his mouth moved down the curve of her neck to the vale between her soft, lace covered breasts.
