Chapter 11
Monday morning Lara was once again dressed to impress as she made it into work. The baby blue business skirt she wore was only barely long enough to cover the tops or her rather glossy sheer seamed nude stockings. The material of her white blouse was thin enough to show a hint of the white lace bra shining through. The fact that it was lace was easily distinguished due to how far open she had left that blouse, allowing a lot of cleavage and the tops of her bra to show. The matching baby blue blazer didn't do anything to hide that cleavage either. All of it got finished by a pair of baby blue absurdly high stiletto heels and a heavy coating of makeup.
Lara was back to feeling more confident than she had in a long while. Sure she still considered herself inferior, but at least right now she knew she was looking impeccable. The last mirror she passed had confirmed it and she could finally feel at ease that her toenails were looking good as well. They were no longer chipped, with all the practice she had put in this weekend, practice that had cost her quite a bit she was starting to get great at doing nails.
She had only just arrived at the elevator when she noticed Tina making her way there as well. She was still a while off, yet Lara kept holding the door for her. A little too long for comfort really, but Tina was the woman she held in the highest regard. It was so worth it when Tina entered and thanked her. "Thank you Lara, you're an angel." Tina spoke with a smile.
"Hihihi no big deal Tina, I wouldn't want you to need to wait on the elevator." Lara giggled as she pressed the button to go to their floor, not before glancing a peak down at Tina's feet. Her pedicure was still the same, her nylons were the same style as always and she was wearing her peep toed heels like usual.
Tina just smirked this first minute of seeing Lara had already provided her with so much good news to share with Ms. Baker. Today was the last day she planned on making sure to show up at the same time Lara did. She was kind of curious what would happen when she no longer ask Lara to fetch her something from the start. Speaking of which it was time to do just that right now.
"Oh by the way, I have another file I need to be taken up to the post office, not all that urgent, but getting it off my desk would be a relief. You don't mind taking it for me and checking if there are any files there for me would you?" Tina asked casually picking her words carefully. She wondered how Lara would feel when she would lose this much time for something non urgent and non-important. After everything, especially that foot massage she had high hopes Lara would do it for her without question.
"Of course Tina, I would be more than glad to help. I mean it's no big deal really if it helps you I'm happy." Lara said without thinking. Hungering for some praise from Tina. She didn't even think that much about how this had become a daily habit, running errands for someone lower on the company's hierarchy. It didn't really matter either. All that mattered was that praise she hungered for, ensuring she was useful.
As the elevator arrived Lara neatly followed Tina to her desk, walking a few steps behind like usual. It wasn't a big thing but to the people who saw them it made it look like Lara was Tina's pet, her inferior despite everyone knowing their actual positions. While Tina's peep toed heels had always been considered a little inappropriate for work, they paled compared to how Lara was dressed. One look at her reminded most people of how business women were portrayed in porn instead of an actual professional.
"Here's the file Lara. Thank you for taking care of my in office post you're the best. Otherwise this would have stayed on my desk until that post boy came to fetch it." Tina explained, once again underlining how it wasn't even an important matter, now for all around to hear. Everyone looked stunned once more, but they were growing a little used to this by now, it was something weird that was going on between Lara and Tina for sure.
"Hihihi it'll be my pleasure Tina. I'll check if there's any post for you when I'm at it." Lara giggled as she took the file and turned on her heels to head to the post office. She was feeling on top of her game once more. At least until someone stopped her dead in her tracks by calling her name. With another giggle Lara turned around once more.
It was Robin, the short chubby woman from the cubicle behind Tina that had asked. The same one who had had the guts to ask Tina what was going on last week. "I also have a file for the post office, would you mind taking it as well I mean since you're headed there anyways." The woman asked nervously. Lara seemed a little airheaded with her giggling, still she was scared of the woman known as the terror in this office, scared but morbidly curious to find out whether or not Lara had really changed like Tina claimed or it was actually something only between the two of them.
Robin was a woman Lara normally wouldn't even look at for being considered so inferior. She was older than she and Tina, yet still stuck in this low end cubicle job at the firm. Her figure was horrid in Lara's eyes, her clothes also didn't do her any favours, the navy sweater dress, the thick black tights and the navy one inch block heeled shoes it made her look somewhat oafish. Yet Lara couldn't help but look down at the woman's feet and conclude that she was in fact superior to her.
"Oh uhm of course not. It will be my pleasure. I am glad to help." Lara said much to everyone's surprise. Not bothered by the sudden silence in the office Lara turned on her heels again and walked off, all eyes especially Robin's following her in disbelief. The woman had expected a rant instead Lara even seemed grateful to help in a way so much below her pay grade. It confused the hell out of her and everyone else except for Tina. Tina just faced her computer and smirked. Robin had just taken the first step, an example for the rest of the office. Proof that Lara had changed and it wasn't just something between the two of them.
While Robin's interruption and request had certainly been another heavy blow to Lara's reputation in the office and her constant giggling had progressed the image of her being a little airheaded, Lara did feel on top of her game. Helping Tina was great, now that she could help yet another superior she felt even better. Her previous reputation was one Lara didn't really care about anymore. She considered herself inferior and worthless. It was helping others with whatever, getting their praise or a lustful look that defined her worth.
