Linda and Ian were not mentioned once during the drive out to Jerez's house, well palace I suppose you could call it. Two high wooden gates were opened by two men. They clanged shut behind us. Four other cars were parked on a hard packed area of earth inside the gates.
We followed Jerez through a narrow archway along a slab path by the side of a strip of water with three small fountains. Another archway, then a veranda and into the main building. Despite being past nine in the evening the air had still felt stiflingly hot on the drive from the airport. Here it was cool and fresh and heavy with the perfume of a hundred shrubs. We were invited to sit on one of the low settee's that flanked a long low exquisitely carved table. It looked old. Coffee, fruit squash, fruits and biscuits arrived as if by magic. Jenny and I settled for the fruit squash.
Jerez sat in a large padded chair at one end of the table. His chair was higher than ours and had the effect of making us have to look up to him.
"I appreciate your restraint on the journey here," he began. "These are troubled times and whilst I trust my staff implicitly what they do not know they cannot tell anybody."
He paused for a moment to look around the room.
Jenny took one of my hands in hers and held it tight.
"I have heard rumours for a few months now that some friends of yours from Cyprus and in my country. You know him as Herr Adler I believe. That name will do. A very knowledgeable man on the history and artefacts of this land. Also a very greedy man. He has with him a woman and three men. I have had one of my staff looking for him for a while and three weeks ago he reported that he was in a hotel in Cairo. This man and his friends are wanted for questioning for a number of crimes both in this country and others in the region. I wanted him followed to see what he was up to. They were seen to be associating with members of the sect with hand that trouble with last year. At first I thought it was because they had the last unaccounted necklace from Cyprus and were looking for a good price. Then my agent stopped reporting and they have all disappeared from sight."
"There have been other rumours," he continued. "Some report my predecessor Ahmed as being still alive. I do not see how from what you have told me happened in the old temple. Others say he has a companion. A man who cannot die. Perhaps they are the same person. Abduls body we found days later. He had died of thirst and fear in the caves below the temple. We never found either Hamed's or Ahmed's bodies in the temples. I saw Ahmed thrust his sword into Hamed's body. Nobody could have survived that. And yet there were no bodies. We prevented the re-incarnation of the old God thanks to the act you and Linda performed on the boat."
I could feel Jenny's eyes boring into me. Perhaps I should have mentioned it before.
"I have booked you into a hotel," Jerez said standing up." In the morning we will visit your friend Ian in hospital and see if he has remembered anything."
We were briefly shown into a room where two children lay asleep in cots. The boy had darker colouring than the girl did. Jenny looked from her to me.
"She will be very pretty," she said to the parents.
Lee-Anne smiled weakly.
"The boy will grow strong," Jerez said, you could almost cut the pride in his voice.
Chapter 12 (Jenny).
Lee-Anne picked up the baby girl and held her out to Paul. He took her a little uncertainly. I thought for a moment he was going to drop her. He looked down at her face and she opened her eyes. He smiled. Then he handed her back and we were escorted out to the car. Jerez spoke to the driver and we were driven through the gates for a three-minute drive to a large, European style Hotel. We booked in at the desk and were shown our room. In a corner stood three suitcases.
I looked at one of the labels.
"They're Linda's and Ian's." I said to Paul who was entering the bathroom.
"Why have we got them?" he called through the half-opened door. I could hear the sound of his wee hitting the water in the toilet bowl. I was still not comfortable about performing my bodily functions in front of him but he had no shame.
"Don't they think they're coming back?"
"I don't know," I replied, opening a suitcase and changing my blouse. I was sitting on the bed when the toilet flushed and Paul emerged after washing his hands.
"Hungry?" He asked standing before me. I could see the outline of his prick through the material of his trousers.
I couldn't help myself, I reached out and stroked it.
"I don't know what time the restaurant closes," he gasped.
I watched as his prick grew beneath my fingertips.
"Your right," I said, standing up. "We haven't time for this."
He placed his hands on my shoulders and pushed me back, onto the bed. With one hand he threw up my skirt and pulled at my panties whilst unzipping himself with the other. I lifted my ass cheeks to help him and spread open the lips of my fanny as he sank forward on top of me. I wasn't quite wet enough and it took three goes to get it in. Finally it was and I wrapped my arms around his back as he started to move in and out. I like a quickie now and again. I knew I wouldn't come but the sensations were nice and he was enjoying it. That was enough. He quickened. I could feel him growing inside me. He groaned and sighed then grunted as he came. I felt him jerking inside me and the warmth of his come invading me.
He kissed me then pulled out and stood up.
"I want to talk to you," I said sitting up and taking a clean pair of panties from my suitcase. "Just what did happen between you and Linda?" (See Cruising up the Nile).
He seemed to swallow hard.
