Tom Smith waved goodbye to the receptionist as he walked out of the office. He couldn't believe what he was doing. He was actually leaving his office at 5 p.m. The last time he had left his office before 7 p.m. was when he'd had another moment of temporary insanity and left early to go see a movie.
When he announced his departure, Sara looked at him like he'd lost his marbles. Her mouth fell open and she'd blurted out, "What the fuck?" before turning bright red with embarrassment. He laughed and just kept walking.
The entire drive home he kept thinking of his wife - his love, his life, his best friend.
For over a decade he had spent the majority of his time arguing and applying the law to fact scenarios faced by his clients. He bent, stretched and molded the situation, and the facts into a picture that best served his client. He excelled at analyzing situations and then finding ways for it to come out to his client's advantage.
Try as he might, he couldn't find a way to justify what he was considering, what he wanted to do. There was absolutely no way he could sleep with another woman and still be true to the vows he took. He couldn't find a way that would justify putting his own needs above those of his family. He didn't want to become his father. He didn't want to turn his back and run out on his family. Sleeping with Suzy was doing exactly that.
Yet all the facts, all the things his head told him to do, that didn't help what he felt between his legs, deep in the pit of his stomach. His cock was already hard at just the thought of being alone with Suzy. He wanted her. He knew she was his to have in every sense of the word. He couldn't believe how badly, how much he wanted her........

Suzy sat in her parked car looking at the Mediterranean style home at the end of the block. She stared intently at the two-story home. The home had big large windows, an expansive front door, and neatly manicured front lawn. To the side of the house through the rod-iron gate she could see the end of a crystal blue pool. A chocolate Labrador lay near the patio door.
She'd parked a bit away from the home. Unsure if she actually had the courage to do what she thought she wanted to do. She looked at the clock in her car. It was almost 6:00 p.m. She knew the moment she walked through the front door of his home there would be nothing to stop her. Deep in the pit of her stomach with absolute certainty she knew fucking a married man meant the end of her life as it existed. She also knew it was the beginning of the end of her friendship with her professor. That small tiny detail was enough to fill her with sheer terror.
The love she had for her husband, for her children, the morality and ethics she normally exhibited, her religious beliefs, and the fact that she would lose it all - all that wasn't enough to stop her. She was like a freight train running out of control down the tracks at 100 miles per hour. Nothing was going to stop her. She had to have him.
She'd actually come up with lots of good arguments as to why all the above didn't matter. Well, all except for the small little detail she often thought of: friendship.
Her professor made her laugh like she hadn't in a long time. He made her believe in herself, and in her goals. As if the fact that she dreamed them was enough for him to believe she could do it. When she was able to focus on him, instead of his fine ass, she felt profoundly comfortable in her own skin. No other way to explain it. She felt at ease and secure. The only other man she felt that comfortable around was her own husband.
However, she also knew that things always come to an end. They can end on a good note, or in a horrid fight. They can simply slip away out of lives before we even realize it's happened, sometimes to return if we are lucky. But things always end nonetheless, including friendships. It was her choice to have the friendship last for a very long time, perhaps even a lifetime, or to just have him in the short term. The immediate short term meant she would get to enjoy his body and soul, but it would only for a brief time. Of that she was certain.
She knew the moment she laid a finger on him she could kiss their friendship goodbye. Oh, don't get me wrong it might take awhile, but they would get caught eventually. Things of such a nature have a way of bubbling to the surface, like a rotten smell emanating from the sewer. You can never keep it hidden forever......an affair that is.
She knew if they took it past flirting, past longing, and desire, there would be no excuse, none whatsoever that could make it all right again. Nothing would ever make it as comfortable and sincere as their relationship was now. This was what Suzy was thinking of as she sat in her parked car looking at the Mediterranean style home at the end of the block.

He sat quietly in his parked car inside his garage. He could hear the fan and soft clicking of the engine as it cooled. His fiddled with his car keys, and stared at the door leading to his kitchen. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall above the washing machine. It was 5:35 p.m. Suzy was set to arrive at 6:00 p.m.
He rubbed his eyes. He was tired. It was a tired he couldn't explain. Not really physical in nature. He was in terrific shape and could play tennis 4 hours straight, without a second thought. No, the tired he felt could be found at the back of his throat, deep in his stomach and in the back of his eyes where tears are formed. He closed his eyes and sighed.....
He opened the car door and walked into his home. It was still and quiet. It unnerved him. His arrival in the evenings usually set off a whirlwind of controlled chaos. His boys would somehow find their way to the door before he could even take the key out of the doorknob. They ran full force at him, practically knocking him over with a love that only young boys can display. As if they had a radar that told them exactly when he would arrive.
His wife would follow closely thereafter. He smiled at the thought. He could see her coming down the stairs as she called out to the boys, "Daddy's home!" she would announce, not realizing they had already found him. She'd walk down to the last step, stop and place her hand on the rail and smile down at him. She was so petite she rarely was able to look down at him. "Hi love," she would say softly.
No matter how long he'd been married to her, she still took his breath away. His wife was a perfect complement to his temperament, physicality and spirit. She truly completed him and made him a better person. He knew he would never find anyone else who could do the same.
She'd walk towards him, stand on her tip toes, lock her arms around his neck and kiss him as their boys ran underfoot, tugging at their father and mother, screaming out, "Daddy look...Daddy guess what I did....Daddy lookie, lookie...". Her calm presence, her still nature would immediately temper him and the boys.
She often dressed in black and white. Her beauty icon was Audrey Hepburn. That was what he saw when he looked at her -- all class and beauty. Her gorgeous straight blond hair, sparkling green eyes, small petite frame, small perky breasts, and a figure that denied the fact she'd had two children. He loved the way she fit his body when he held her, the top of her head beneath his chin. Her hair lightly scented, she smelled like spring flowers, clean and gentle.
The shrill doorbell brought him out of his reverie. He turned on his heel and stared at the front door. His stomach filled with butterflies and he could feel himself growing hot. It was Suzy. She was at his front door step, and he was home alone. For a split crazy moment he thought about not answering the door, but he had never been one for cowardice.
He walked to the front door, his footsteps echoing loudly inside the empty house. He reached out for the doorknob and opened his front door. He was opening himself up to the unknown, uncharted and unexplored future.

She looked at him and smiled.
"Hi Professor, how are you?"
"Come in Suzy."
She walked past him. He could smell her distinctive scent. It was lavender and honey combined. He walked ahead and led her into the kitchen.
"Can I get you something to drink? Sparkling water, wine, a beer...."
"I'll take water, please......."
He took a glass out of the kitchen cabinet, poured ice and water into the glass and handed it to her.
"Thanks."
"Nothing to it."
They stared at each other. Suzy's mouth went dry and she quickly drank from the glass.
She looked at him and smiled. "You have a lovely home."
