To get to the Laaning farm for the Independence Day Celebrations, Sonia Laaning picked up Chantal at her workplace at 03:00 PM. The dental office had accepted no appointments after 02:00 in order to close the office early, and thus, to get a jump start on the holiday weekend. At the first rest stop., Chantal was able to change from her office uniform to casual clothes. They also dined at a McDonald's when they stopped to refuel around 6:00 pm. They arrived at the Laaning farm about 10:00 PM.
At that point in time, Toomas Laaning and his wife Lotte had already retired. At their advanced age they were thoroughly fatigued by the six hour flight from Arizona which included more than a one hour layover stop in Chicago plus an hour and half motor car ride from the Madison airport to the Laaning farm, near Lydiaville. Likewise, Paul Laaning Sr and his son Junior as well as his daughter Judy Laaning had retired since the three of them would awaken at 04:00 AM to tend to the milking of the cows notwithstanding the holiday. The children of Paul Jr also had retired as per their normal sleeping curfew.
This left Paul Sr's wife, Eleanor, Paul Jr's wife, Marlene, Erica Koeninger, Vivian and Maia as the remaining adults to greet and spend some time chatting with Sonia and Chantal. Chantal was gratified to discern that Sonia was indeed accepted as a bona fide blood daughter to Paul Laaning Sr, and thus, a recognized member of the Laaning extended family. With such recognition, it meant that Chantal was also deemed as an equivalent relative to Eleanor and Marlene being attached to the Laaning family via marriage.
What Chantal really appreciated was the camaraderie she and Sonia shared with these straight women. In their conversations, they did not betray of harboring any attitude of revulsion concerning their lesbian relationship. In fact, Chantal was certain that had Sonia instead been straight with a boyfriend, the reaction by these women in dealing with Sonia's love interest would not be any different.
Interest in learning of the circumstances of the relationship between Sonia and Chantal naturally was a focus of the ensuing exchange of conversation. However, the major discussion during the evening, was devoted to the subject of Maia's disclosure of her adventure at the Wimbledon tournament plus her prior peccadilloes. Her description of her victory against Gertrude Stockmann and the subsequent orgy celebration at her hotel suite, certainly thoroughly entertained her listeners. Even Vivian, her mother, and Erica, her aunt, who were present at the Wimbledon tournament and were privy to the events described by Maia, were nevertheless, enthralled and entertained in listening to Maia's anecdotes and viewpoint.
By far, though, the most riveting and fascinating anecdote Maia related was her trip to Prague, in the Czech Republic, to engage in a recorded orgy. Her listeners were initially aghast at her audacious cheeky escapade, especially considering the possibility of being recognized by any Estonian happening to view the scenes on the relevant porn site. However, Vivian who had seen the video assured the others that Maia's disguise of her black streaked page boy cut hairstyle wig plus the visible temporary red star tattoo on her neck would quell any suspicion that it really was her. In addition, she was identified as a Russian and spoke only Russian in the video. Wisely, Maia refrained from recounting her water sports celebration with Riina Mölder in conjunction with the end of her secondary school education.
The Laaning farmhouse was a spacious homestead exceeding 6,000 square feet. It contained seven large bedrooms. The master bedroom was occupied by Paul Laaning Sr and his wife Eleanor. The second largest bedroom was occupied by Paul Laaning Jr and his wife Marlene. The third bedroom was occupied by Judy Laaning the spinster daughter of Paul Sr and who had established by agreement a sizable responsibility in the day to day business dealings of the dairy farm. Two other bedrooms were occupied by Paul Jr's children: Paul Laaning III or usually identified as Pauley, and her sister Anita respectively. That left two guest bedrooms to accommodate the occasional overnight visitors to the farm.
For this occasion, Anita was assigned to sleep with her Aunt Judy in the latter's bedroom. Pauley had the use of a foam air mattress in order to sleep in his parent's bedroom. As a result, Maia Laaning had Anita's bedroom to sleep in, while Erica Koeninger had the use of Pauley's bedroom. The Laaning family patriarch, Toomas Laaning and his wife Lotte, were accommodated in one of the guest bedrooms and the other guest bedroom was available for Sonia and Chantal.
This left Maia's mother Vivian to fend for herself in the makeshift bedroom in the spare barn of the farm. Not only was Vivian not perturbed by such allocation of this sleeping assignment, but she had retained fond memories of this precise location. She occupied this room throughout her senior high school year before she left for Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin. It was the scene where she finally surrendered her virginity. In addition, it was the locale for the multitudinous sexual trysts she had engaged in with her one and only long term lesbian relationship whose name was Erin Falconbridge.
When Chantal and Sonia were ensconced in their assigned bedroom for the night, Chantal could not help but remark, "Wow! First of all, I'm amazed at your likeness to Vivian Laaning. The similarity in facial appearance is uncanny despite the difference in age between the two of you. Even if no DNA testing had taken place, it is obvious you had to be blood related to Vivian and hence to the family."
Sonia answered, "Yes, when I first met Paul, he remarked at how similar in appearance, I was to his younger sister. Of course, I had paid no heed at the time, which I considered was a throw away line just to make conversation. Besides I had bigger fish to fry on that occasion. However, now that I've met her, I have to admit the resemblance is eerie, startlingly so."
Chantal continued, "As for Maia Laaning, she is truly as gorgeous as you had advertised! I also have to affirm that I've never encountered a prettier woman than she. Plus, the way she recounted her sexual adventures was something else. She may very well be a slut and a whore. But she is by far the most intriguing, remarkable and enchanting slut and whore, whom one may ever meet. Perhaps that's an oxymoron in living flesh. In any case, I can now understand how easily you became infatuated with her on just by an initial meeting. I sure as hell, wish I could have had a go with her."
Sonia replied somewhat cryptically, "Aw Chantal, I have a feeling that during this weekend you just might get the opportunity to satisfy your previously unknown lust."
The Independence Day celebrations at the Laaning farm were truly splendid and spectacular. In addition to the members of the extended Laaning family, the farm workers and their nuclear families employed by the farm were invited and attended. The gathering was further augmented by prominent local dignitaries such as the sheriff of the county and the mayor of Lydiaville. Many of Paul Laaning neighbors were in attendance as well. Especially noteworthy guests included the two state legislative members of the area along with the district US Congressman along with their respective families. The crowd totaled almost a hundred persons, which by definition guaranteed a joyful outcome for the event.
The food available consisted of an especially bountiful barbecue with the typical American cuisine array of hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks and grilled chicken. Side dishes of potato salads and pasta salads complemented the grilled meats. Naturally buns were in plenty supply to contain the meat as well as a comprehensive stock of the typical condiments such as: ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, diced onions, sauerkraut, chili sauce and peppers both sweet and hot. In honor of the ancestry of the family, some Estonian dishes were offered as well such as rosolje (beet salad with herring) and sandwiches made with dark rye bread. Also available was sauerkraut soup. Those Americans venturous enough to try the latter dish found it hearty and surprisingly delicious.
There were plenty of beverages available. Tubs of ice containing bottles and/or cans of soft drinks and bottled water were there for the children and those who would prefer non alcoholic drinks. For the alcoholic beverages, tubs of ice containing beers brewed in Milwaukee were prominently available. There was also two kegs of draft beer obtainable for those so inclined. And as a special treat, their were two tubs filled with bottles of Vivian's Original Brew via courtesy of Jed Baxter and Baxter & Sons.
The latter beer was made available as a result of Vivian's craft beer enterprise being absorbed as a subsidiary company under the auspices of Baxter & Sons, European division. The Chicago headquarters of Baxter & Sons had acquired an initial shipment of 1,000 cases of the beer as a prelude to forthcoming regular shipments exported to the United States. If beer sales in America warranted, possibly a brewery would be established in the United States eventually to serve the North American market. Since every bottle of Vivian's Original Brew was consumed at this holiday gala it augured well for future success of the beer in America
There was a separate table for wine and a portable bar was set up to serve hard liquor drinks and was attended by a bartender provided by a local catering service. The catering service looked after the chore of providing continuous grilling of the meat. The other food, though, was prepared by the Laaning women. To this end it was apparent that Vivian and Maia were the most efficient cooks and ensured that the food was available by four o'clock in the afternoon, the tentative scheduled starting time for the festivities.
