Life after the Lottery, CH 66
Upcoming business meeting
We all slept in on Sunday. We had been up late, having sex. The girls were all teasing me about the fake porn video they set up. Samantha and Amy kept at it until I ran them out of the bed to go start breakfast.
"You made it through your birthday," Dawn said as she lay in the bed.
"You three made it very enjoyable."
"Well, you better have all the sex you want this week, and this weekend, John is coming next Monday to do our piercings."
"Are all of you sure you want to do that?"
"We're sure. You better appreciate it."
"How long do I have to go without sex?" I asked.
"John said everything has to heal. Probably four to six weeks."
"That is going to be a long time."
"I think I have some traditional medicine that will speed things up. Should be ready to go by Thanksgiving."
"What is this going to cost me?" I asked.
"I think some very nice jewelry to fit our piercings will cover it."
"I can do that. What are we doing for Thanksgiving this year," I asked.
"I told my mom we were expecting them. You need to call your family and see what they want to do."
"I'll work on it."
"You need to make sure of who all is coming this weekend," Dawn said.
"Rachel is trying to make sure Linda doesn't back out. I'll double-check with Mr. Dain and call Olivia and Sam."
"What about Sherri, Brenda, and Lori?"
"I will ask them."
Dawn kissed me and got up and went to the shower. When she came back out drying off, the smell of breakfast cooking filling the bedroom.
"Get up and shower," Dawn said.
I left her in the bedroom and went and showered.

I sat at the table with Dawn as the girls put the food on the table.
"Are you going to show your porn movie to everyone?" Amy asked when she sat down.
"Hell, yes! Can I show the one you three made for me?"
"No, that is just for you," Dawn said.
"I can live with that," I replied.
About 3:00 in the afternoon, we were all sitting in the hot tub. The weather had cooled off just enough to make the hot tub more enjoyable.
"Did either of you talk to Sherri and Brenda about this weekend?" I asked the girls.
"Not yet...we were busy last week, remember," Samantha said.
"I'm sure they will come," Amy added.
"Call and make sure. I am going to see if Lori wants to come," I told them.
"I don't know if three men will be enough," Dawn said, giggling.
"I think for a laid back weekend...I can work Ian and Sam in," I told them.
"You two, we will be calling our family to see what they want to do for Thanksgiving," Dawn said. "Is there anyone you want to invite?"
"I wish my mom could come..." Samantha mumbled.
"Would she come?" Dawn asked.
"No...she can't...we never had any good Thanksgivings."
"Samantha, why don't you and your sister make arrangments for a complete Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered to your mom and dad," I said.
"That sounds like a good idea!" Samantha exclaimed.
"I'm sure there are plenty of places where your parents live that will do that," Dawn added.
"Mom would like that," Amy said.
"You two do that, but don't wait too long to get an order in," Dawn told them.
After we got out of the hot tub, Samantha and Amy were busy looking on the internet for someone to deliver a Thanksgiving dinner to their parents. That kept them occupied while Dawn and I talked.
"James, is there anything we can do for their parents?" Dawn asked.
"I have talked to Samantha about it, and she says that any money her dad finds out about will get spent on boozes or blown. Amy is sending their mom enough to help her out."
"That is a bad situation."
"For their dad to be in his late forties and drinking as much as they say, it won't be long before his liver goes."
"I hate it for them."
Dawn and I talked for a while. Amy and Samantha let us know they found a place that would make the delivery; a turkey and all the trimmings.
"You two, is there anything we can do for your parents?" Dawn asked.
"The money we are sending mom is helping her out. I think that is all we can do for now," Amy replied.
"Well, let us know if there is."
"Mom said to tell you two thanks," Samantha said.
"You tell your mom if there is anything she needs all she has to do is call," I told them.
"Thanks."
"Have you talked to her lately?" Dawn asked.
"I talked to her and told her I was going to be able to go to medical school. She was very happy," Samantha said.
"Good. I'm sure she is very proud of you. Call her and tell her about Thanksgiving."
"I am going upstairs to do some reading," Samantha said and left us.
"Amy, is she okay?" I asked.
"Yes, she just doesn't like talking about the situation with mom and dad."
I left Dawn and Amy talking and went to check on something in my study. I opened up my email and sent one to Lori to ask if she wanted to come. I was scrolling through some other email when my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Dr. Smith, this is Dr. Gordon."
"Hi, Dr. Gordon."
"I just wanted to touch base with you about the genealogy research."
"How is it going?"
"Interesting. I wanted to let you know that I am only waiting for some information to come in from Ireland. Once I get it, I will be finished."
"Is the information from Ireland about Samanth and Amy?"
"Yes. I wanted to double-check on something I uncovered here. Dr. Smith, I think you are going to find out some very interesting things about your family."
"I won't be surprised."
"I will probably have it all wrapped up soon."
"That will be good. I will be able to show it to our parents when they come for Thanksgiving."
"I will let you know."
"Thanks, Dr. Gordon."
With everything that had been going on, I had almost forgotten about him. I finished up some emails and went back to the den. Dawn was sitting with Amy.
"Dr. Gordon just called. He thinks he will have all the research finished soon."
"That will be good," Dawn said.
"He is waiting on something from Ireland."
"For the girls?" Dawn asked.
"Yes. He said he was double-checking on something."
"I hope it all explains things," Amy said.
"He said it would be interesting."
Samantha only came back down to eat dinner then went back upstairs. Amy went to check on her about 8:00 and didn't come back down. When Dawn and I went to bed at 10:00, I checked and found Amy and Samantha in her bed asleep.
*****
Monday morning, we were back to our regular schedules. After breakfast, Samantha was heading out for school early when I stopped her.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Yes."
"You disappeared last night. I was worried about you."
"I just needed to be alone."
"Anything you want to talk about?"
"I was just wishing my mom could be in my life more."
"Honey, you know you can go and visit anytime you want. You can drive or fly and get a car."
"I couldn't go back to the house."
"Then, you can pick up your mom, and you can spend time somewhere else."
"I guess."
"You let us know if you need to talk, please."
"I will."
After Samantha left, Amy left about 9:30.
"Samantha is unhappy," I said to Dawn as we went upstairs to get dressed.
"Amy said she was. She is missing being able to talk to her mom."
