I am getting caught up some, thanks for the comments on the previous chapter. A bunch of you have emailed and asked where I went, well I have had some health issues and had to have some major surgery, but I am recovering slowly. This chapter is the continuation of where I took a trip with Linda. Some new people will be introduced, I think you will enjoy. This is long, I had to split it into two chapters so it wouldn't take all weekend for you to read. The next chapter was posted right after this one. The next chapters may come slowly as I recover, but hang in there. Feel free to contact me, I enjoy the feedback. One more thing. This is the Novel and Novellas section, the stories should be long! 8/30/15

Life after the Lottery, Ch. 46
The trip with Linda, Part 1
SUNDAY
I left the house and climbed in the back of the limo after Linda and plopped down in the seat next to her. I looked up and across from me sat a smart looking and beautiful woman. Her auburn hair was all pulled up behind her head, very business-like in her blue suit.
"Dr. Smith, this is my personal assistant, Patricia," Linda said.
"So this is the infamous assistant you rave about," I said looking her over.
Patricia smiled at me.
"You are the infamous Dr. Smith, I presume?" Patricia remarked.
"I guess so."
"You look...tired," Patricia said.
"A little, I partied all weekend," I told her with a smile.
"I had to work all weekend," she replied.
"You always work most weekends!" Linda said with a smile.
"I know!"
"Maybe we can find some time to party while we are gone," I said.
"James..." Linda said.
"You're no fun, Linda," I told her.
Linda closed the window to the driver.
"While we have a few minutes, we all need to talk," Linda said.
"Linda, you know I know about you seeing Dr. Smith for some help," Patricia said. "You know I don't talk."
"Patricia, you think you know everything. And, I know you are, and must be discreet."
"Linda that is not an issue. I know the confidential nature of my job."
"Patricia, this goes way beyond your job duties, and you know that," Linda told her.
"Linda, my job is 24 hours a day." Patricia said.
"I still need to tell you some things. James has helped me get back on my feet after my divorce. The two of us have worked together for a while now, and you know I am doing a lot better..."
"...especially since you are getting some!" Patricia said with a giggle.
"Pat!"
"Well you must be, you are sure acting a lot happier."
Linda sat quietly for a minute.
"Patricia, as you so elegantly put it, 'I have been getting some', I need you to know that I have been getting it from Dr. Smith, James."
"Whoa...wait a minute, aren't you married?" Patricia asked me. "Didn't we just leave your house and your wife?"
"Yes." I told her.
"Uh, I think you need to explain, Linda," Patricia said.
"You two talk, I'm going to take a nap," I told them.
*****
"James...we are at the airport," Linda said shaking me.
"I shouldn't have napped. I bet you two had an interesting conversation."
"Yes we did, I could have used your help."
I sat up in the seat, Patricia was outside talking to a bodyguard or someone. We were on the tarmac next to a small jet.
"Come, you can sleep on the plane." Linda said.
Linda and I climbed out of the limo, it was hot on the concrete. Two men were carrying bags onto the plane.
"Are they going with us?" I asked.
"No. They are security for here. I will pick up two guards in LA."
I looked up the stairs and saw her familiar stewardess/guard watching.
"I forgot to ask you if it was okay if I brought my sidearm."
"You can legally carry it anywhere and fly with it?" Linda asked quizzically.
"Yes."
"You will have to explain that to me. I'll let the guards know."
"And your stewardess?" I asked.
"Especially her. I explained some things to Patricia, you and I still need to talk. We will have to wait until we get to the hotel."
"About the hotel, what will be the story there?"
"I have a suite, with separate bedrooms for you and Rachel."
"Who is Rachel?"
"My bodyguard. She goes where I go."
"So you have a bedroom for me and her, sweet!"
"James!"
"What about Patricia?" I asked.
"She has a suite near us. I can't find suites with four bedrooms."
"Linda, I don't know what you told Patricia, or what Rachel knows, but just tell them. I was hoping to sleep with you this week." I told Linda.
"Rachel doesn't talk. Patricia will not talk. Maybe we can all talk tonight."
"Good, then we will just need one suite." I said.
"I'm just reluctant to tell them much more," Linda said.
"Linda, we are ready to go," Patricia said as she walked up.
We all got on the jet. It was a smaller Gulfstream 150, Linda and I both had to duck our heads. This jet had three single seats down each side. Linda and I sat facing each other in the front two seats on one side. Patricia sat across from Linda on the other side of the aisle.
My phone beeped. I pulled it out and looked at it, I had missed a text. I pulled it up, it was from Ashley.
'I had a goodtime last night, thank you. Can I have Sam's phone number?'
I had no idea why she wanted Sam's phone number, but I sent it to her.
"Dawn?" Linda asked.
"Stripper."
"What?"
"Later."
The pilot pulled the steps up and closed the door and soon we were off.
"Can I get anyone something to drink?" Rachel asked.
"White wine, please. Patricia?" Linda asked.
"White wine."
"Dr. Smith?" Rachel asked me.
"Nothing for me, I'm going to take a nap."
*****
"James!" It was Linda. "We will be landing soon."
That was fast. I still had my seatbelt on. I looked over and Linda and her assistant were packing away computers and papers. About 15 minutes later we landed in Los Angeles.
"Dr. Smith, your briefcase," Rachel said as she handed it to me. "I hope you have what you need to carry that."
"I do."
"I can't wait to know how."
The jet stopped and soon we were walking down the stairs and into a waiting limo. Rachel was talking to two guys loading bags in a black SUV. Once everything was loaded she climbed in the passenger seat in the front of the limo, and off we went.
"You need to call your wife," Linda told me. Patricia looked at me.
I called Dawn and told her we were on the ground. She wanted to know where we were staying, I told her I didn't know. We talked a little.
"Sam says thank you again," Dawn said.
