This is the rewrite of the entire series. I can't believe how bad my spelling and grammar were back then. Sorry about all that! It is probably still bad, but I have some new tools to help. I am not really that dumb; my brain has a hardware issue called dysgraphia. It is something I only figured out a few decades ago in grad school. It can't be fixed, and I have written this series over the years in an attempt to help with it. I am thankful for Grammarly now. It helps some. All the rewritten chapters will have a V2 label. The website operators graciously allowed me to repost the entire series, one chapter at a time.
To understand how this adventure began, you need to read the first story, "Our Lucky Weekend or Life After the Lottery CH 0. This chapter can stand alone, but you would like it better if you read the other one first or later. I have started writing the Prequel, so look for it. What happened immediately after the end of Our Town Lucky Weekend, or Chapter 0, is under the Life After the Lottery Prequel Chapter 1. I will start posting the Prequel around the Summer of 2025. You do not need to read it before this. Enjoy! Copyright LATL 2025Β©
Life After the Lottery, CH 1

How it all started
If you watch the news, the typical big-money lottery winner is often a 70-year-old couple living in a trailer in New Jersey or the South, somewhere. Not this time. The south part is right, but that is about all.
Two years ago, we hit the lottery for big money, really big money. It was a record jackpot. We wanted to stay out of the media, but had to consent to publishing our photos and interviewing us before they would give us the money. So, for the next year, we had to put up with the fruits, nuts, and flakes, or the granola bars, as I called them. They called or came by the house all the time for a few months, wanting a handout. No matter how many times we changed our phone number, they still got it. Even our cell phones. After we built the house and moved, we got rid of most of them.
My name is James, and my wife is Dawn. We don't fit the norm for lottery winners. We are in our thirties, and I would say we are in the upper, well-educated middle class. Our friends always made fun of us for playing the lottery, since we didn't really need the money. However, we did it just for fun on our weekend trips and always told them it helped support the schools. We never won more than a few dollars.
I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and work in a hospital setting. Dawn is a surgical nurse with an advanced degree and works for a well-known reconstructive plastic surgeon. We live well now, have our dream house, cars, and no kids. Dawn is 5 5" with long, beautiful black hair since she is part Cherokee, and a perfect body you would kill for. She has an awesome set of full C breasts and a beautiful ass. I am 6' 5", attractive, I have been told, and well proportioned. All of my body is well-proportioned to my height.
Dawn and I met at a prestigious university in the area. I was working on my doctorate, and she was working on an advanced graduate degree in nursing. Both our parents had enough money to help put us through college with the help of student loans. Dawn finished graduate school when she was 24 and was already working. She is very talented and well-paid for her skills. We were married the year I graduated and started my residency. After several years in residence, I went to work at the university hospital where Dawn already worked. I also teach part-time at the university now, after getting plenty of experience.
Within a few years after our marriage, we had each settled into our careers, and the money was good. We ran in the same circles with the doctors and lawyers in town and partied regularly with this bunch. Most of them made a lot more money than we did, but they were still a good crowd.
As I said, several years ago, we hit the lottery big. A huge record jackpot at that time. We took the money in a lump sum, gave some away, and invested the rest well. Our friends were aware of the money and helped us establish the right connections to invest and protect it. After we received the money, we both gradually reduced our hours. All I could do now was teach, due to the threat of lawsuits, but Dawn really enjoyed her work and worked more hours than I did. Beyond that, we decided to live smart and well off the interest. We built a big dream house on some land in the country and bought ourselves nice cars.
We have always had a great sex life, but with more time to spend with each other now, we were now having an incredible sex life. Dawn had opened up even more sexually and had become even more adventurous, but nothing outside our marriage for us. When we built the house, we equipped it with a very nice gym as well as a large pool and several hot tubs. Dawn felt she had noticed a few pounds she had put on while working too many long hours and realized, although still hot, her shape had suffered some. She began working out a lot at the gym and moved everything back into place after six months of work and swimming. She now had an even sexier and incredibly tight body.
Since the new house was situated on a vast piece of property, Dawn was now able to swim and sunbathe in the nude, something she had always wanted to do. She had acquired a beautiful full-body tan on top of her darker Native American skin and liked to work out in the gym and wander around the house naked most of the time. She knew it drove me nuts, and it usually ended in long bouts of hot sex. I loved her carefree attitude.
----- Life after the Lottery -----
"Everyone is bugging us about coming to see the house," Dawn said.
"It's been nine months since we finished it. I guess we could have a big party."
"Let's have a big pool party in a few weeks!"
"Since it is August, it will be hot enough."
"I'll tell everyone to bring their swimsuits. You think we can put it all together in a few weeks?"
"Sure. How about the weekend after next on Saturday," I said. "We can start around 2:00, and I can try out my new big grilles."
"I have a better idea. Let's see if the lady who caters for the other parties can do ours?"
"You don't like my cooking?"
"I don't want you spending all your time cooking."
We put a plan together and spoke with Nancy, the caterer, to provide dinner for approximately 24 people. We spent the next two weeks preparing everything and contacting everyone. They all ranged in age from their late twenties to their forties.

The buzzer on the big gate went off around 1:00 on the Saturday of the party. I hit the intercom button.
"Yes?"
"It's John! Let us into your castle!"
"Okay."
We walked out the front door and waited as they drove up and parked.
"Hey, Doc!" I yelled.
"You finally got it finished," his wife Carol said.
"Finally. We are still getting used to it," I said.
"It looks magnificent."
"Come on in!"
