Our story starts 10 years in the past, the year is 2011 with a young man having just graduated from high school. John didn't have the best go of things during high school due to many poor decisions he had made over the years, ultimately landing himself in rehab at the age of 16. By the time he had graduated he had been sober for almost 2 years, he stood at a height of 5'10" and was a handsome young man, with a decent build even though he neglected most physical activity. He had soft white skin, with a good complexion, and short dirty blonde hair he usually kept trimmed in a standard crew cut.
With the stresses of high school finally behind him, he set his sights on his future. Bombarded with constant questions by his family and long-term girlfriend Susie about what he was going to do with his life after school, he was struggling to decide. Finally, one day he was making Susie and himself dinner when he thought, "you know, I do enjoy cooking so maybe I can turn that into a career." And with that he figured it would be a good idea to enroll in culinary school. After being accepted he realized that he would need to get a job to be able to afford the gas he would need to make the trip to school every day.
Now John had grown up in a life of privilege, his parents were very well off leaving him not wanting for anything his entire childhood. He had traveled to many exotic destinations in his youth, but never had to fend for himself and make his own money. With no working history John began his search for a job, luckily this did not take very long as there was a large retailer opening a new location just down the road from his house. John's mother had helped him prepare for his interview and even helped him pick out what clothes to wear. He had no issue being offered a position in the warehouse as the hiring manage told him "At least you didn't show up in flip flops." With his employment sorted out he had a couple weeks until culinary school started so he decided to focus on his new job for the time being.
After what seemed like a very short weekend John woke up on Monday excited to finally start his new job. He wanted everything go perfect being this was his first ever job, so he made sure he was showered, well groomed, and looked his absolute best. Little did he know that the events of that day would have a profound affect on his life. Driving to the store seemed to take forever, even though it was about an 8-minute drive from his house, but when he finally arrived, he had to calm himself down before going in as his hands were sweating from the nerves. Once he had calmed down enough, he tried to walk in as casually could. This forced casualness did not last long however as soon as he cleared the threshold of the doors and saw the empty retail store his eyes were met with the most stunning sight he had ever seen. There was a woman standing in with a group of employees talking, and John had never seen a woman that he found more beautiful in his life. She was shorter than him by a couple inches, with long flowing blonde hair, stunning green-blue eyes, a perfect smile, an ample chest that would easily fill his hand, a slim waist with large hips, and one of the most amazing asses he had ever seen. The sight of her almost took his breath away, and he instantly knew he needed to find out more about this woman. Nervous John decided to hang off to the side of the group and started chatting with a couple of the other male employees, though he didn't retain much of the conversation as his eyes kept drifting off towards the mystery woman he had seen when he arrived. After some time, the hiring manager he had interviewed with gathered everyone together to get the day started.
John was shocked when he saw the woman make her way up to the front of the group and take a spot at the front next to the hiring manage as he was speaking. When he was done with his speech, he also introduced the other managers that would be running different departments in the store, and that his when he found out her name. The last person of the group of managers to speak she introduced herself as "Julie" and John thought he had died and went to heaven when he heard her voice.
The remainder of the day passed without incident, but John continually lost his train of thought as he was stocking the empty shelfs whenever Julie would walk down the isle to check on their progress. That night as he was laying in bed with Susie laying on his chest the only image in his mind was of Julie, and he decided that he would try to talk to her the following day. However, he was very unlucky as he did not get a chance to see her until after the grand opening of the store.
After a few months everyone had fallen into a groove at work, and John was making great progress at school and almost ready to graduate. He had talked to Julie a handful of times and had found out that she was about 4 years older than him, and in a relationship as well. With that knowledge he had tried to put her in the back of his mind, until one day he was working in the back room of the store pulling boxes to restock some shelves when Julie came into the warehouse.
"Hey John, how are you doing today?" Julie said once she had found him
"I'm doing pretty good, same thing different day. How are you?" John said hefting a large box off a shelf.
"I hate to be this forward, but I've been waiting for you to initiate a conversation with me, but you never have. Why not? It's not like I haven't seen you checking me out constantly." She said putting her hands on her hips.
"Julie, I don't think this in an appropriate conversation to be having at work. Especially with one of my managers." John said as he started to blush
"I guess you're right, maybe now isn't the right time. But here is my phone number, text me tonight."
After she quickly wrote her phone number down on a piece of paper and slowly walked out of the warehouse with that John thought was an exaggerated sway in her hips, although he wasn't one to start complaining watching her walk out. Later that night well after Susie had gone to sleep, John fished the piece of paper out of his work pants and quickly entered the number into his phone.
"Hey Julie, this is John from work. How are you doing? :)"
A response came back almost immediately "I was wondering when you would text me."
"Sorry, I had to wait until my girlfriend was asleep before I text you. I know it's pretty late."
"I don't mind, it's a good thing my fiancΓ© just went to sleep."
