Felicity Ch 70 1

Larry and Doris were still mostly asleep when they walked to their patio with their coffee. It was Friday morning and as usual their Thursday night had wiped them out. The all you can eat fried fish special was as popular as ever.

As usual after they got home on Thursday night they had headed for their hot tub in the patio. Larry remembered they had found the energy to start a fuck while in it and finished it off in their bed.

In their rush to get to their bed they left the tub uncovered. Children were hovering and swooping over it. Doris just watched them for a while then called their mother.

"Lu, your kids are playing in the thermals of our hot tub again. Yeah, sure, go ahead. We will keep an eye on them."

To Larry she said, "They were about to fuck and she asked us to watch them for her. I am going to fix them strawberry jam cups."

"I will watch them," Larry said.

Larry walked to the bench next to the tub and the twin girls began to include him in their play. Larry loved it and was again wishing they had children.

He and Doris had been to a doctor to see about getting Doris to conceive but learned that it was a very small probability due to the damage from an abortion Doris had undergone after being impregnated by a foster father.

Then he thought, "That was the old Felicity. It is a new town with geniuses all around. Somebody should be able to figure it out.

As Doris returned two little Devl twin girls dove from the top of their fence into the hot tub and two teen redheads chased after them.

"Call Leigh and tell her that her girls and the ones they were supposed to baby sit are here."

"Oh, bother," Doris said and handed him the jam cups as she went back to her phone. Larry saw she was grinning widely. "She still wants to be a mother," he though.

The Sprites sat with him and ate their treat as Leigh's twins tried to capture the Devl twins. It was a funny relationship between the four, the Devl thought of the humans as big sisters and the humans though of the Devl as pain in the ass little sisters. Devl could not shape-shift until they were ten years old. Sehel's twins were just three, they had a lot of energy.

Doris came out with a bowl of fruits and all six girls settled around her. As they ate Doris continued a story she had started on their previous invasion. Ten minutes later the Moms came to our yard, threatened their kids then kissed and hugged them. Doris got in the tub and Sehel, Lu, and Leigh followed her in.

Larry heard Doris ask Sehel who to contact about a medical problem. Since there were no medical problems on Cel Sehel understood and gave her a name. Doris kissed her and as soon as all the fruit was gone so were our visitors.

"We have two hours," Larry said.

"We could go talk to her."

They kissed, dressed, and took the train to Clara. The doctor talked to them between patients and told them that she would look at their old records and call them back.

Late that day the doctor called back and both returned to the city. The Doctor, her name was Pag and she was Akkad, examined Doris and said, "Your first first dose of chicken soup did begin the repairs but since you were classed as healthy there was not enough to complete them. I prescribe 'chicken soup' for twenty one days. Come back in three weeks and we will see where you are."

Doris took her first dose that night.

Three weeks later the doctor said, "That was a very bad job done on you. You are better but it is still unlikely you will get pregnant, perhaps a ten percent chance. Take one dose every every day for twenty one days again and if after that if you are not a lot better I will call in a surgeon from Botanica."

The people of Botanica were not human, not even animals. They did not breath oxygen. Bringing one to Earth would be a very big deal and very expensive.

Larry and Doris had more money than average but not near enough to cover those expenses past their insurance limits. They put their hopes on the soup.

Three weeks later their doctor said, "The extra doses have made some difference. Your chance to conceive have increased to about thirty-five percent.

We could do in vitro now and your chances would increase to seventy percent, but someone else would have to carry the child for you. Your uterus is too scarred to be able to reattach the egg.

Take three months and have sex often as you think about your options then come back and tell me. You two are still young enough we don't need to jump into anything now."

Larry and Doris agreed and left wondering how thirty eight was young enough not to hurry. True, they felt and looked like they were in their mid-twenties so they decided that 'fuck every time you can' was sound medical advice.

They were babysitting twins when their doctor called. "Can you come over now?" She asked.

"No we are baby sitting. Is there a problem?"

"I don't think so. Whose babies?"

"Sehel's"

"Bring them with you."

They took the ride to the city and after a nurse took over the baby sitting the doctor stood Doris in a scanner then took her into her office.

"Good news and bad news, which would you like first?"

"Bad news," both Larry and Doris said.

"Ok, the bad news is that it is unlikely you will be able to carry it to term. The good news is that the it is your child, you are pregnant."

Larry and Doris burst into tears and the doctor left them alone saying she would be in her office. Ten minutes later she was telling them that her monitors had picked up a change in Doris' body chemistry. The exam confirmed she was pregnant.

The damage to the area would not allow the baby to develop completely but they still had some incubators to put it or them in.

"Them?"

"You may have twins."

They rode back to town with a sleeping child on their laps. It felt very, very nice.

Six months later they saw their son and daughter placed in incubators. Three weeks later they were home.

Doris stayed home except on Thursdays, it was her fried fish everyone came to flavor. They now closed Sundays and Mondays.

Everyone understood. They did not like it but understood.

The closure only lasted until the kids were in school although they did get tired of all the whining and did open for two hours for lunch on Sundays. They were overwhelmed by volunteer baby sitters at the restaurant so they brought the babies with them.

Larry and Doris found parenthood as nerve wracking, panic inducing, exhausting and rewarding as they expected. They survived which they wondered about sometimes.

Their kids were active dynamos, they made everyone a friend and did not notice that many of their friends were not human until they reached puberty. By the time they reached the age of consent it did not matter anyway, their daughter in particular loved everyone that loved her.

In advance school they studied everything from finance to primatology but eventually did graduate.

After several ventures elsewhere their grown children decided they wanted to run the restaurant. Doris got them jobs as busboys in the resort, then as waiters at Bolero then as line cooks at Mr. Wu's.

Larry was impressed, he thought they would never stick it out. He put them in his kitchen frying fish and noticed his son was very good at frying things. He gave his daughter recipes to five sauces and she made them perfectly.

Three months later Larry and Doris stayed in bed and told their children the place was theirs for that day. Customers did not notice until it was time to kiss Doris. Her daughter said to kiss her instead.

Soon the parents were staying home everyday except Thursday. All customers gave them rave reviews on the kids. So they turned the restaurant over to them. Doris joined the babysitter combine. Larry went fishing.

They found that being a grandparent was a lot easier and much more fun. They encouraged the children to continue giving them grandchildren. They declined.

Their grandchildren worked in the restaurant as soon as they were tall enough to clear tables. They were in the kitchen doing the preps before they were teenagers. By the time they were sixteen they were doing all of the fish frying. By the age of twenty they were running the place from Monday to Wednesday. Their parents ran it on weekends. Doris and Larry ran it on Thursdays although usually either their children or grandchildren joined them that day.

They learned more recipes that pleased the alien appetites but most of them still loved the fried fish. The Akkad and Gaans loved the seafood soup.

The grandchildren added a sushi salad that became a favorite of the Saurans, the Azulians, and the Kindred so they had to come up with a large person seating section, then a two large person, two normal person table. They already had a small person section so they simply added a few large person chairs to those.

The family never noticed that their restaurant was the most eclectic in a town known for such.

It became very crowded. So they opened a restaurant in Clara run by the children. Then they opened a restaurant in Penza run by the grandchildren. Great-grandchildren were assisting at the original in Felicity.

A hundred years after the original opened there were five restaurants in Cel and one in Shangri-La all run by family.

But Larry and Doris still did Thursdays in Felicity.
