Sue had been living a life she knew she would not be able to continue in without some big changes and the only person who could arrange that was herself. No change, no change. The issue for James and his wife was how to get the maximum value for their shareholders, how to identify and then get the various potential bidders to compete and drive up the value of the takeover and how to stay on the right side of the law while doing so. Charles and his team were to be one mechanism for him to achieve his goal.
Carlo was the CEO of an organisation with Italian money that was willing to either acquire James company or alternatively to flog the technology on to a European group. Pam asked all the logical questions of how she wanted Pam to fit in and what was to happen at the end of the month long journey. It became clear to Pam, Sue was not too concerned about any of that.
