Lincoln's POV
--------------
I woke up in the cave and saw sunlight peeking through the cracks that shone brightly on Chloe's sleeping face.
I stumbled to my feet and drank from my canteen till it was empty. I had noticed that Chloe's red beady necklace was gone.
'It probably snapped when the Jeep crashed.' I thought, unintentionally reminding myself that we were trapped in a cave, with a small army on the outside.
I had tried pushing one of the boulders outwards to no avail. I had kicked, bashed, and tried to hit rocks with other rocks to find a way to get out. I heard Chloe waking up with a painful groan as she forced herself to sit up.
"Morning." I said somewhat sarcastically trying to brighten the mood.
"What are you doing?" She asked groggily, her voice sounded strained.
"Trying to get us out of here." I said as I bashed a rock against the corner of the rubble.
"Lincoln, you'd have to keep bashing those rocks together for about 5 years to make any progress." She said a little condescendingly.
"We just gotta hope that APC blows the rubble out of the way without killing us."
I immediately thought of the dynamite.
Overjoyed I ran to Chloe, and grabbed her shoulders. "Miss Johnson, you're a genius!" I let go of her not waiting for a response and ran to my backpack, unzipped it and dug around for about 10 seconds.
Chloe snuck up behind me and took the dynamite.
"Do you know how to use dynamite in a situation like this?"
I had to be honest with her.
"Not a clue."
"I figured, look just stand back and I'll light it, plant it, and run." She said, rolling the dynamite between her hands.
I did as she said and ran to the end of the cave. She took the rope and scratched it on the ground three times, she obviously had experience with explosions in small areas, because she planted the dynamite firmly in the center of the rubble.
She ran back towards me covering her ears and sat down. I did the same, but of course my ears still popped and rang when the explosion went off. I just barely heard Chloe coughing, the smoke and dust clouded my vision.
