Author's notes:
It have taken some time for me to ready this chapter, which is mostly because I have been on vacation. I hope it's worth the wait.
About the language and notation:
The Baylon language is a predecessor to Latin, which is why it looks like Latin at a glance.
Mental communication is denoted by a < and ends with a >, so a mental communication will look like this: "< Who are you? >"
Some warnings
:
This is erotic action adventure, meaning that there will be both sex and violence, but I don't mix the two.

Chapter 18 -- Flashback: Traveling the world Part 2
Dilmun and the Kemetian Empire, Ca. 1224 BC
For a thousand years, Dilmun had been one of the greatest trading hubs on the route to and from Bharata and the trade was exactly the reason why Shava and I was here.
The Merchant-noble Nanda had persuaded me to stay until his wife, Dashala, had given birth and that proved to be a wise precaution from his part, as the childbirth had been problematic to say the least.
In the end, I had sent the local healers out of the room and with Nanda and Shava as my helpers, I had used the last resort known to me: Carefully, I had cut Dashala's stomach, removed the child (a son) and sewed Dashala together again, before I used just enough Vis healing to ensure that she would survive the treatment, but not so much that it would seem like a miracle.
To Nadra however, it was still a miracle that both his son and his wife had survived, and not only had he showered me with gifts, but knowing that I wanted to travel on, he had arranged transport.
So, when Dashala had healed somewhat, Shava and I were put on a ship going further up the river. Then we had travelled over land to another river, where we boarded a ship going downstream and after a relatively short trip, we had ended up in the trading city of DvΔrakΔ, where we stayed for some time, waiting for the wind to change.
As per Nanda's advice, I had exchanged some of his gifts with other wares there and when the wind changed, I had an entire shipload of ivory, pearls and timber, as well as lot of the blue gemstone known as Lazika Stone (Baylon: Lapis lazuli). A stone I knew was hugely popular in both the Kemetian and Assyrian Empire, and thus was a good for trading.
Then we had boarded an ocean-going ship sailing west with the winds into the Dilmun Gulf and then slightly south, until we arrived at the Island of Dilmun.
Originally, I had planned on staying at the Baylon colony, but Nanda had arranged for us to stay at a Bharatan merchant, so that is what we did.
However, I was still of a test trip for the Securitas Externa and that required that I showed up at the Baylon trading post in person, so when everything else was in order, I walked over there.
The trading post at Dilmun was the oldest of all Baylon trading posts, dating back almost a thousand years, and it was one of the few places outside Baylon itself, that was equipped with a designated gating chamber and a permanent staff of mages from Ordo Vectio, ensuring quick and safe travel from Dilmun to Baylon or the other way around.
The two guards at the entrance sent me a suspicious look as I walked up to them, which was understandable as I was dressed in the silk clothes Nanda had given me. A light green knee-length silk shirt that hang loosely around the body and covered the baggy leggings, made in the style of the horse people of Northern Bharata, but in the same light green silk as the shirt. My hair was covered by a wrap-around headdress, that provided shade for my head in the burning sun.
With the tan I had gained after months of travel, I looked a lot like a tall, rich native and when I walked towards the entrance, the guards moved to intercept me.
"Hold, stranger!" One of them said sternly.
Stopping, I bowed slightly and reached out with my mind. "< I'm Inquisitor Spectre of the Securitas Externa and I'm here to see Ambassador Ultes >"
As only Baylons could use that particular way of mind speech and as it's impossible to lie over a true mind-link, he returned the bow with a slight smile. "< Welcome to Dilmun, Inquisitor Spectre. Unfortunately, we can't leave our post, but at this time of the day you'll find Ambassador Ultes at home, eating dinner. >"
Along with the answer came the directions to the Ambassador's home, so I thanked the guards and started to walk in that direction, passing several warehouses, before turning a corner and finding myself right in front of the Ambassadors house.
The Ambassador's house was situated right next to yet another warehouse and despite being an official building, it was a small two-story building.
The wooden door was open, which I assumed was due to the evening heat, so I walked inside.
The first room was the hallway and unlike what I first thought, it wasn't empty.
A large female guard, dressed in bronze armor, was standing near the right left corner, talking to someone in the corner.
That itself was rather strange, but as I came nearer, I could hear her say. "Com'on pretty boy. You know you want it."
A young man's voice answered her, sounding slightly desperate. "No, I don't. As I've said a hundred times before, I'm happily married. Now leave me alone!"
