This story is not like my others and I debated for some time as to whether or not I should release it. HAMMOND HOUSE does contain the same kinds of detailed passionate and romantic lovemaking people have come to associate with my writing, but there is something very different here.

This story contains graphic violence (such sections of the story are highlighted in red, to provide you with a chance to skip the material, if you wish). It deals with love and hate, envy and regret, life and death. People die and friends mourn the loss. Unlike hack-n-slash, dead teenager movies, there is a point to this story. It deals with emotions, with motivations, and with decisions. It is about how life can suddenly, and tragically, change and how two people must adapt to survive.

If you are squeamish about graphic violence, then you might want to skip this story. I don't want people to think this is typical of my writing. I didn't write this because I enjoy reading about violence during sex -- I find it very disturbing, in fact -- I wrote it because it was an idea that wouldn't leave me alone until I had beaten it out through my fingertips and into the computer. I wrote it because I wanted people to survive a horror story for once. Not untouched or unscathed, and not unchanged, but just survive.

Maybe it was a stupid idea, maybe you will think it is silly or that I'm sick. I'm sorry if you come away with that feeling. All I know is that I had to write it.
