On Monday as he walked past Carrie on his way to a back row seat, she touched his hand. He stopped, "Good morning, Charlie!"

"Hi Carrie, how was the movie?"

She looked at him almost shyly, "Really good! As a matter-of-fact, the whole day was...how do you always put it? Special!"

"I'd have to say Sunday was perfect!"

Just as she nodded in agreement, Mr. Carpenter started talking. He sat down quickly and then saw Holly Simon lean forward and say something to Carrie. His blond friend half-turned, then shrugged and refocused on the beginning of class. He thought to himself, "The pressure is building," but then he refocused as well. There were no answers to this dilemma, but he felt badly for her because all the weight was on her shoulders. Last week it had finally come out that she and Daniel had broken up, and that only added to the aggravation because she had to answer a million questions. On top of that, it didn't take a genius to know that other guys were going to start showing interest in her. His next thought was, "It will be fascinating to see how she responds to new suitors."

And to make matters worse (or better depending on one's point-of-view,) Donna Bridges followed him out of the cafeteria after lunch and said, "Charlie, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, Donna, what's on your mind?"

It would be impossible to describe the expression on her face in just a few words. Maybe the best way to say it would be that the look was complicated, as if ten different emotions were showing on her face all at the same time! "Well, this isn't going to be easy to ask," she began.

Charlie smiled trying to encourage her; he knew what was coming. "Know what, Donna? Maybe I can help."

"You can?"

"Sure, I think you and Krista are great!"

"Uh, thanks!"

"I mean it; you girls are awesome!"

She cocked her head at him wondering what this meant. The smile on his face was helpful though; and then it dawned on her, "Are you implying what I think you're implying?"

"Probably, what do YOU think I'm implying?"

Donna took the plunge, "Krista said she had the most fun in her whole life!"

"Yeah, she's awesome!"

"And you think I'm awesome too?"

"Probably, what did you want to ask me?"

Donna grinned because she caught on, "I would love to see how incredible it was for myself; would that be possible?"

"It would," Charlie replied, "but only on the condition that you keep it a secret from everyone but Krista."

"I can do that!"

"There is one more thing too; I'm not sure when it can happen, can you be patient?"

She nodded, "I can do that too!"

"Great, then let's get to class and I'll keep you posted, okay?"

"Yes, wonderful!"

Charlie touched her hand, "You're awesome, Donna! I'm excited about this!"

"Oh my God, me too!"

The bell rang, "See ya later!"

For the rest of the day and the next, ten different emotions flooded his mind as well, especially the one regarding Renee Bridges. In between 6th and 7th period on Tuesday, he tapped out a text to her, "Can you meet me in the parking lot again after school?"

"I'll be there."

Half of him was saying, "Don't do it!" and the other half was saying, "Do you have any idea what a horny, out-of-her-mind forty-seven year old woman is capable of?" While waiting next to his car, he still hadn't decided on which option to choose.

Renee was smart. She got there promptly thinking Charlie would push to get to practice on time. She pulled into a parking space and Charlie went over and stood where she couldn't open the door, so she powered the window down, "Hi Charlie!"

Charlie leaned over and put his hands on the door, "Hello Renee! Thanks for coming on time; I was thinking we need another conversation about you know what."

"Yes, I know, you need to get to practice; from the sound of this, are you still undecided?"

"Oh, honestly there is no practice today or tomorrow. We have a bye-week and Coach is giving us a few days off. But yes, something happened today; Donna came up to me and asked if we could get together."

"I see, she moved pretty fast!"

"Yeah, which raises the question again, what should I do?"

Renee paused for several seconds before saying, "I'm pretty sure Donna would be upset if she knew you and I got together. Honestly, if she or my husband found out, I would be terribly upset myself! But I'm willing to risk it for the reasons I told you before. I don't want to start an affair with another man; I want something that I can easily break-off should the need arise."

Charlie smiled, "I agree with all of that. But what do I do with Donna's request?"

"Do you want to fuck her?"

"I would like to, yes."

"Then do it. It would be hypocritical of me to cheat on my husband and then demand that YOU do the right thing and behave honorably. It's a strange situation fucking a mother AND her daughter, but really... it won't bother me."

Charlie leaned harder on the door. His forefingers were tapping on the window casing as he turned all of it over in his mind. "Okay, Renee; if you agree to my terms, I'd like to give it a go!"

Renee grinned, "I'm fairly certain I'll like your terms!"

Charlie chuckled, "There's no school on Friday; you come to my house at 9:00am. I'll text you the address. This is a one-time thing; after that, you never mention it again. Are we good so far?"

The corners of Renee's mouth curled in a tiny smile, "Yes, we're good."

"Okay, and if there's ever going to be a second time, that's entirely up to me. You won't ever bring up the subject again. On top of that, you swear you'll never reveal it to anyone...absolutely no one! Are we in agreement?"

"We are in agreement; you have my word! And Charlie?"

"Yes?"

"Do you know what I'm thinking?"

"Of course, you're thinking that I don't have any idea what a horny forty-seven year old woman is capable of."

Renee's mouth dropped open, but then she grinned and put her car in gear, "See you Friday, Charlie!"

On Wednesday morning as he was walking up to the door of school, Jenna Slater approached from the opposite direction. She was walking with another of her cheerleader teammates. Charlie smiled because the teammate was Lena Piper, whom he recalled won the "Best Boobs" competition at one of their sleepovers.

He held the door for them, "Hi Jenna, hello Lena!" Hey, congrats on second place last weekend! I hear Springfield kicked butt!"

"Hi Charlie, yeah, I think we should have won myself." said Jenna.

"Is that your opinion too, Lena?" he asked.

"It could have gone either way," Lena said, "our aggregate score was only.25 less than Peoria's."

"Wow, that's the first time I heard how close it was. Carrie never mentioned it."

Ten steps down the hall, Jenna turned toward him and sort of winked, "By the way, Charlie, any thoughts on that science project? I could use a little tutoring."

Charlie almost laughed, "Tutoring...sure. Let's figure out when we can do that."

"Great, I'll talk to you later."

Charlie almost laughed again when Lena said, "Tutoring? Do you tutor, Charlie?"

"Sometimes," he said, "when my schedule allows."

Lena stopped and held his arm, "Are you any good at Calculus?"

"Yeah, kinda; I got an "A" and an "A-" on the first two tests."

She about spluttered, "Oh my God, Charlie! Coach Lancaster had me into her office the other day and said I might be ineligible if I don't get at least a "C" in Calculus."

He turned to Jenna, "What do you think, Jenna? Do I want to tutor her?"

Jenna laughed, "I would if I were you! Our team needs her to pass."

"Okay, Lena; I do have after school today open; there's no football practice. Or...I could draw up a schedule with possible dates, and you can pick a couple."

"You actually could meet with me today?"

"I could, today is open."

Lena said to Jenna, "Do you think Lancaster would let me out of practice for this?"

Jenna replied, "It's pretty important; she might! We're in a relaxed spot at the moment coming off our performance this weekend."

Charlie said, "Why don't you ask her, Lena? I'll meet you by the south stairwell right after school, and you can fill me in."

"I'll be there, Oh my God...this is like fate! Thank you Charlie!"

Lena took a left turn into her first hour classroom and Charlie said to Jenna, "Now that was unexpected; it's kinda weird how we went from "tutoring" YOU to tutoring calculus for the winner of "Best Boobs on the Springfield Cheer Squad!!"

Jenna giggled, "Lena's great; Carrie and I like her! We hang together on occasion."

"Well then, any friend of yours...you know the saying!"

"Speaking of 'friends,'" she said, "we should get friendly again one of these days!"

"I would love that!" he replied. "Shall I draw up a schedule with possible dates for you too?"

She grinned at him, "Has it come to that? Oh my God!" They both laughed and she continued, "You know Carrie told me that Sunday was the most fun yet!"

Charlie's eyes went skyward and then back to Jenna, "It was pretty incredible! You two girls are crazy hot!" Just then the warning bell rang, "See ya!"

At lunch Charlie got there first; Julie and Mark were a minute later. "So," Julie began, "how's your day going?"

"Strangely," he returned, "just by sheer happenstance I might be tutoring Lena Piper in calculus this afternoon."

"Wow, how did that go down?"

Charlie gave them the short version, and Mark asked, "Where is this tutoring going to take place?"

"Huh, I never even thought about that."

Mark leaned forward a bit, "Your house maybe?" His tone was unmistakably suggestive.

Julie said, "Why do you automatically conclude that Charlie wants to get in her pants?"

"On the basis of where they decide to go. Would YOU go to a boy's house? A boy you weren't even friends with, knowing that his parents might not be there?"

"You still didn't answer my question; Charlie? Any thoughts here?"

"I'm not thinking we're going to my house; and even if we did, my parents could be home anywhere from 4:00 to 6:00...it's not clockwork."

Mark plunged ahead, "We'll expect a full report tomorrow!"

Charlie chuckled, "Shall I give you a copy of her homework?"

Just then Krista and Donna showed up. After a few pleasantries, Krista said, "The party is in ten days. Do we have a D.J. lined up?"

Jules brightened, "Oh, that's right; I was going to tell you. On Monday I was like talking to Darrell and Logan about the party; they had some questions about what to wear. Anyway, I happened to mention that we wanted to get a D.J. and Logan said he could get his older brother Lawrence to do it."

"That's great!" they echoed.

"For fifty dollars," Julie added.

"That's fine," Charlie said, "that's not a very big tip!"

"I figured we would agree on that, so I told Logan to ask him. It's all set!"

"Speaking of 'All Set,'" said Charlie, "I have my outfit picked out!"

"What is it?" said Donna.

"IT is a secret, I could use the fifty dollar prize myself!"

Mark was going to say something but then he saw the clock. "You'll be glad to hear I've got some ideas, but we better eat before we run out of time."

Charlie and Lena arrived at the stairwell simultaneously. He could tell by the look on her face that permission from Coach Lancaster had been granted. "Hi Charlie, Coach said it was okay because we weren't working on anything new today. In fact, when I asked, she immediately said, "GO!" Lena giggled, "That says a lot because she's really strict about attendance at practice."

"So I've heard! Okay then, did you bring all your materials for our session?"

"Right here in my bag! Where are we going?"

Just for fun, Charlie was tempted to say, "How about my bedroom?" but thought better of it. "I don't know? The library?"

"That should work; let's go!"

It was a short walk; on the way Charlie began by asking, "So Lena, what grades have you been getting in all your math courses?"

"C's, I get mostly C's in all my courses. But this year I'm off to a bad start, calculus is hard and I got D's on those two tests you mentioned."

Charlie stopped as they got to the door of the library, "Let's talk openly, Lena. You wouldn't be in trouble eligibility-wise if you were getting all 'C's'."

She reddened, and right then Charlie took stock of her. Over their four years of high school together, they had never had a real conversation. A lot of that had to do with the clique thing; but then again, there were 200+ kids in the senior class. No real opportunity had presented itself...until now. So Charlie looked at his new acquaintance closely. (In other words, he "checked her out.") Lena was average height, maybe 5'6 and as far as he could tell there wasn't an ounce of fat on her. But she was no delicate thing either. Her bones were above average large for a girl, and she filled out her jeans and polo shirt nicely; which is a "nice" way of saying her body was sexy! Her ass was half-covered by the untucked polo shirt, but her breasts were prominent. No polo shirt could hide that! And even though she was not "flaming," she was indeed a redhead. Her hair was just long enough to accommodate a ponytail when she needed it, and her pretty face and hazel eyes were exceptional.

"Yes, you're right;" she admitted, "I'm getting more 'D's' than 'B's' and that's where the problem is. If I could just get a 'C-' in calculus, I could work harder on my other subjects and be okay."

"Alright, so we've set a goal." They approached the librarian and explained their presence and she showed them to one of the study/conference rooms in the back. It was set up for as many as eight people, and the wall facing the library was made of glass, ostensibly so that nothing untoward could happen in there. Charlie held Lena's chair for her so she could sit down, and she in return gave him an appreciative look...almost like she was shocked by the chivalrous gesture.

"Thank you, and thanks for this. I'm going to be a good student for you!"

"Yep, happy to do it. If Carrie and Jenna call you their friend, then I want to help you!"

She looked at him again and a small smile played at the corners of her mouth. "Yes, shall we get started?"

"Absolutely, let's see your text book." It only took about ten minutes for him to realize one of her first problems was she was struggling with the nomenclature of the course. She didn't quite comprehend the concepts like "differentiation" and "integration." Fortunately they were nearer the beginning of the course than the end; so they spent about forty-five minutes familiarizing her with terms. Clearly Lena wasn't a dumb redhead, applying herself was the issue. Charlie saw this all the time with football players.

When he was satisfied that she was up-to-speed with the course objectives, he said, "Know what, Lena? Let's not get into problem-solving today. You're in a good spot now; I'm thinking that if we meet one more time before Monday, we can see how you do and then reassess."

"This helps a lot, Charlie! I probably should have said something to the teacher before this, but... I don't know. I just didn't."

"Don't worry about that now; we're trying to catch you up. When can you meet this weekend?"

The redhead thought for a second, "Let's see, there's no school Friday, I could meet Friday or Saturday afternoon around 3:00 or 4:00?"

"Okay, how about Friday at 3:30?"

"Perfect, where?"

Charlie smiled and was going to teasingly say, "How about my house?" but again he thought better of that. "You choose, I'm fine with whatever."

"Then how about the Starbuck's near the corner of Washington and Chatham? I'll treat us to a drink while we study."

"That'll be great. Okay, we have a plan!" Rather than gather up her things to leave, Lena sat there looking at him. It seemed like she wanted to say something, but nothing was coming out. So Charlie said, "Was there something else, Lena?"

"Uh, no." Then five seconds later she said to the ceiling, "Oh fuck it! Charlie, would you mind if I asked you a personal question?"

"No...you can ask. We'll see if I want to answer."

"Good. What's up with you and Carrie? The whole senior class is buzzing about it; I already know her side, I would just like to hear your side."

"My side? It isn't much; we just got to talking one day, and found we got along pretty well. It's just a friend thing...that's all."

"Yeah, that's what she said; I'm not really getting what all the fuss is about."

Charlie cocked his head at her, "There's a fuss about this?"

"Yes, it's the weirdest thing," Lena said. "A few days ago about ten of us went to the movies, and afterward we got something to eat. One of the guys asked Carrie what was up with her and you. She said, 'Nothing's up.' Then he said, 'Then why are you talking with him?' She got pretty mad about that and said, 'What business is it of yours who I talk to?' Then another guy asked her if you were going out with her; and she said you were just friends."

"That's all it is. She's a friend."

Lena smiled, "You must be, Carrie said she liked you; she said you were smart, and funny, kind and respectful. Most of the boys and a few of the girls were just shaking their heads. That same guy made a very unkind remark about the whole thing, and Carrie just said to him, 'You pick your friends and I'll pick mine.'"

"C'mon Lena," Charlie replied with a smile, "you know why this is, don't you? I'm from the 'Nerd' side of the tracks. Lots of kids still aren't grown up enough to understand it. In my opinion Carrie's a grown woman now. She's got a good head on her shoulders."

"You don't know this, but just before we left the diner, I happened to mention my math problems and that was when Jenna said maybe you'd be willing to help me."

"I'm cool with Jenna too. She and Carrie are a lot alike."

Lena's face softened, "I said to Jenna, 'Why would he help me? We hardly know each other.' And Jenna said, 'Lena, didn't you hear what Carrie said? Charlie's a great guy! He's a math wizard; he'll help you!' And she was right! I can't thank you enough!"

"Jenna vouched for you, I can't turn her down! She's a keeper! And you know what, Lena?"

"What?"

"We off to a decent start here; I wouldn't mind calling you a friend of mine either."

"I'd like that! Okay, Charlie Green...see you Friday, 3:30 at the Starbuck's."

For the rest of that night Charlie debated what kind of friendship he should pursue with Lena Piper. The way things were shaping up, he could have four "friends-with-benefits" before Christmas. Would he want another one? Ultimately, he decided to wait on this one. Perhaps he would know more on Friday, and maybe he could have a chat with Jenna and/or Carrie about Lena. Just before he fell asleep, here came that thought again, "Charlie, what have you gotten yourself into?"

The thought he woke up with on Friday morning was, "What have I gotten myself into? A horny forty-seven year old M.I.L.F. is coming over at 9:00!" He got in the shower then shaved. Looking at himself in the mirror, he said to his reflection, "You think you're 'hot shit' now, don't you!" His image grinned and nodded!

In the kitchen, his mother was heading out the door. His father was already in the car. "You have plans today, Charlie?

"Yeah, rest up...next week is gonna be brutal!"

"Oh, How so?"

"Lots of 'End of the Marking Period' tests and a hugely important football game on Friday! Then Saturday we have Mark's birthday party. I'm exhausted just thinking about all of that!"

"Welcome to adulthood," his mother quipped, "I'm sure you'll do just fine!"

"Well, yeah...but hey, I better mention, this afternoon I'm tutoring a classmate in calculus. Her name is Lena Piper. I'm not sure how long it's gonna be, but I should be home for dinner."

"Another girl? My little Casanova you!"

He just grimaced, "Yeah, have a great day, Mom!"
