Samantha (Sam) is in her early mid twenties. Already married and with two kids, she works at a family restaurant for the health insurance. And she hates the time away from her two daughters.
Her husband Randle (Rand), works in a warehouse, he works the swing shift. And there's lots of mandatory overtime he claims. It means he's away from home till very late in the evening often times. It also means he's not exactly the most attentive husband to his young wife.
So as the story often goes.
Early in their relationship things were magical. Lots to talk about and everything was an adventure. All things seem to be brand new and every idea was seized upon with a youthful vigor.
And as young lovers do, they steal every opportunity too fuck, whenever and wherever they can.
Sam had discovered the pleasure in being sexually adventurous with Rand. And Randle felt he was lucky to have found a girl who was accepting of his overt sexual proclivities for sex in public spaces.
As well, Samantha would very often encouraged him to screw her, maybe not so discreetly, in those public spaces.
She had discovered her inner exhibitionist, though inadvertently. She would hide her cravings from Rand as they grew more insatiable, she felt a little ashamed for liking the activity so much and didn't want her boyfriend to know and judge her as a slut.
But alas, the rush to be newlyweds opens the door to the harsh realities of marriage. And after the birth of their first unexpected, but inevitable child, that reality hits hard and fast. Then the second...
Young lovers grow up fast as father and mother. The husband and wife would never learn to coexist and their youthful passion for sexual connection, Their bonds of love, fade into memory.
So, it isn't long before the "young" man of the house finds the camaraderie of his buddies a sufficient alternative to his nagging wife's marital complaints and motherly woes.
Distance between them grows.
For Rand, sex with Sam had become passé at best, it would eventually become rather a second choice to jerking off to his favorite porn videos.
As it was, many of his options for sexual indulgence had been forbidden by his wife inexplicably. And now stealing time to watch porn was his way of being adventurous and defiant.
Sam on the other hand, was always busy. No free time for sexual adventure. And no privacy to masturbate to porn, or even her own thoughts for that matter.
Youthfully, Sam reveled (in) the sexual freedom and adventure of her exploits with Randle. She felt so deeply connected and their bonds of trust bound them together strongly. But that all seemed to just fade away so quickly and Rand seemed to loose interest in her.
The kids are now her ever present reminder that those days of passionate loving and adventurous sexual abandon are over for her.
At least she thinks it to be so...
And barely a handful of years have passed and the young mother has fallen out of love and into a depression of sorts.
Ever the dedicated mother she has become resentful of her husband and his lack of attention or participation in the marriage.
Yes, he is a goof of a father, but he does attend to his duties in that regard very well. But as a husband he undoubtably had much to learn.
It wasn't long till their sex life would become mundane and lacking. No longer is there any sense of adventure or spontaneity.
Rand was always eager to just get his dick in her for the most part. But Samantha grew to hate him for his single minded need to just cum in her and roll over.
She was tired of his immature adolescent sexual views, even though his sexual proclivities enabled her own sexual awakening.
They never had the chance to grow. And on the rare occasion that Rand fucked his wife, It's very often a one sided encounter leaving Sam used, a cummy mess and unsatisfied.
Samantha tries to hold onto what little semblance of love she still feels, but she finds it harder to do by the day.
Very often, Sam would settle the kids in front of the TV and slip into a bath. With the door open she could listen for the kids while she soaked.
On one such occasion, while she soothed her dreariness in the eucalyptus scented bubbles of her bath, her phone rings. Reaching for it and fumbling it once or twice she answers.
"Hello." She says.
"Hey Sam" The voice greets.
"Any chance you can work tonight?"
The restaurant manager had a call-out and needed her to fill in.
As she slumps in the bath water contemplating the request, she could hear her kids yelling and playing in the living room.
Usually Sam gets about twenty-eight hours a week. So this opportunity almost begs her to accept the extra hours. Feeling no other option she agrees to fill-in and hangs up.
The shift is till closing and Sam dreads needing to call Rand home early. So she puts it off and gets herself ready so she can just leave when he gets home.
Sending him a text... "I got called into work, you need to come straight home and watch the kids."
There's no response.
But a few hours shy of a full day, Rand walks through the door, he's pissed off about the half day, But also because he couldn't hang with the guys like always. So he stomps his way through the apartment like a petulant child angry at his mother.
Sam gathers her things and informs her husband that he needs to make the kids dinner.
She walks out the door without saying goodbye, nor kissing him. She's upset with his attitude and feels no guilt for him as she drives through the city that night.
As Samantha sits at a stop light she ponders her life. She starts to cry as she feels so lost and alone, so helpless and stuck. She wonders why she ever married him and almost regrets having his kids. Sam has thoughts of leaving him. She tries to ignore it but she can't help but feel like she might even hate him for how she feels. It's becoming overwhelming and she's depressed and sad.
A few months prior to that night, the apartment next door that had been vacant for nearly a year, got rented to an older couple. Sam met them on the day they moved in. Noting later to Rand, they were a very nice old couple.
Gary and his wife Sofie both prove to be very friendly and talkative with Samantha. Even as they were strangers having just moved in. Sam would go out of her way to say hello and such when she would see either of them. And eventually the two women would become pretty good friends.
As time went on and things became comfortable between neighbors. Sam would eventually start to confide in Sofie all her woes and frustrations. She would go into rather intimate detail about what was lacking in her life and marriage. Sofie was always very understanding and supportive. She seemed to have all the right advise and wisdom to share. And she helped Sam understand what she was feeling and going through in her life and with Rand.
Sofie understood exactly what Sam was feeling and what she needed.
As Samantha and Sofie got closer as friends, Sofie would start to include her husband Gary in some of their conversations about Rand, wanting to get his male and husbands prospective.
Sam could see that the older couple was very loving and caring with one another and she wanted that too. It made her depression and frustrations with Rand worsen.
