Hi everybody, this is my first story on Literotica and I thought it would be really sweet for a nice playful, teasing romance. Anyway, please leave constructive criticism so that I can improve.
Warning: It's a little boring at the start, skip to further behind because it's not really relevant
"What a coincidence meeting you around this location. I couldn't recognise you at first but looking closer, it really turned out to be you!" Her overzealous mother rambled on as she led me into her house.
"Just your luck, Rebecca's in...surely you remember her." Heaving the 2 weighted plastic bags of groceries into her house. She popped her head around the main door frame just long enough to yell for her daughter.
"Rebecca, I got a surprise for you!" Rebecca's mother turned her head back, observing me with curiosity as I blushed furiously. I heard the creak of one of the doors open and a stunning familiar face from many years ago greeted me. Her figure was as slender as I remembered it to be ten years ago, with her face still reflecting an innocent albeit more matured look. But wow, she had shot up to around 1.75 meters and her beautiful jet-black, smooth hair was bunched up in a ponytail.
Instantly realising that the surprise that her mother was referring to was not snacks or gifts but rather a guest, her face immediately mirrored mine in its colour, red-hot. Even with a quick glance, you could tell that she wore comfortably in her home. She wore a set of tight-fitting black panties with an ironic loose plain t-shirt that covered very little of her thighs. Perhaps recognising me after so many years, her face immediately had a panicked look as she murmured something and quickly ducked back into her room, presumably to change into something more presentable, especially with a male guest in the house.
"Ahh, that scatterbrain daughter of mine" her mother sighed as her gestured for me to bring the other 3 grocery bags into their kitchen. Entering their home, I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me as I recalled the unforgettable memories and feelings that were formed here. The interior of the home had not changed much since I last visited ten years ago. It's somewhat dim and yellowish lighting allowed for a cosy and homey feel to the house, I guess? I followed Rebecca's mother and walked into the kitchen. The aroma of a soup of some kind wafted over, it smelt familiar, like something that your Grandmother would cook for you when you came to visit.
"You should stay for dinner. My husband's not around tonight, working late hours again. I'm sure you and Rebecca have a lot to catch up on."
I'm ever so slightly sure that she winked at me while saying that. My entire body flushed again at the notion of holding conversations with this long-lost female friend of mine.
"Ye mom? Any reason why Joshua's here?" Turning around, I saw Rebecca leaning slightly on the kitchen door frame, chewing her bottom lip, a habit from the past.
"Err hi, err long time no see." My idiot brain was still trying to coherently form a sentence when her mother interjected and told her the gist of the story of her buying too many groceries to carry home without a trolley and me just coming along and helping her with them.
"Joshua, kind as always, you really never change." Rebecca looked straight at me and said it with a cheeky grin while shaking her head ever so slightly.
"Will you be staying for dinner Joshua?" With Rebecca and her mother quizzically looking at me, awaiting my reply, I guess I couldn't say no, especially with Rebecca making those sad puppy eyes. After I had nodded a quick yes, her face immediately lit up just like the million times I've seen before, when she had won board games and when she had gotten an new item in a video game. Rebecca's mother turned back to sorting out her groceries and preparing the broth.
"Now you two go play nice and sit on the couch while I prepare this stew for dinner" Rebecca's mother said in almost a sing-song voice.
We approached the sofa in silence, as though the tension and awkwardness of those ten years had built up and formed a wall between us. After both of us were comfortably seated on the couch; her squeezing into the corner of the couch and me just generally being very awkward and sitting straight up, not daring to look at her. A few moments passed before she finally broke the silence:
"Hey"
"Hi"
"How's life?"
"Not bad, you?"
"Yup"
A bit of background, Rebecca was a close and dear childhood friend of mine. We were together in kindergarten through Primary School, only separating in Secondary School and Junior College. It was in those 10 early years of my life that I had grown to love her as a friend and something more. It wouldn't be extreme to say that I was infatuated with her. We certainly had something going on in Primary School but we couldn't keep contact and the hustle and bustle of our work in Secondary School and Junior College prevented us from expanding any energy find each other.
The chemistry that we had those years ago had clearly fizzled out. Thinking back, even if I was crazy in love or infatuated with her at age 12, as I grew older, the crazy and hectic work schedules replaced the fantasies and constant thoughts I had of her. Sure, she still held a special place in my heart but I just couldn't like... feel connected to her after being separated for so long. Even so, I most certainly did have dirty thoughts about her regularly. Admittedly, a fantasy of her may have been the focus of a few of my masturbating sessions. However, this connection between the 2 of us had just grown weaker and weaker as time passed.
The awkward silence continued to drift between us as her mother's humming in the kitchen. Just as Rebecca opened her mouth, probably to start another conversation that would likely end rather quickly, a shrill sound sounded from the dining table. The source was a small, slim, plasticky device set down on the dining table. Rebecca closed her mouth just as quickly as she had opened it and swiftly made her way to the dining table.
"Mom? Your pager just rang. It says 'Code 4, need you here'". Rushing out of the kitchen while wiping her hands on her shirt, Rebecca's mother rushed to the table before, grabbed the pager from her daughter's hands, read it again then grabbed her bag hanging on the dining room chairs and hurried to the door.
"Stew will be done in an hour. You kids go help yourselves."
After her mother was gone, the palpable tension was still present but had definitely been lessened.
"My mother works as an ER doctor so she sometimes has to leave at a moment's notice. Kinda sucks but well, that's life." Rebecca sheepishly added to fill in the silence.
