Part Two of Three
CHAPTER 5
Sheila sat practicing her piano in the sitting room when Rosa informed me that Mrs. Tate would like to see me in the study. I rapped my knuckles on the door jamb and poked my head into the woman's office. "You wanted to speak to me, Mrs. Tate?"
Angela glanced up from some papers on her desk. "Yes, Miss Malloy. Please come in and shut the door."
I closed the door behind me and walked to the front of the lady's desk. "Is there something wrong?"
"Perhaps. Please, have a seat."
I sat in one of the padded wooden armchairs in front of the woman's dark oak desk. Mrs. Tate rested her forearms on her blotter and clasped her hands together. "I was concerned about my daughter's welfare during the thunderstorm last night. I went to her room and found she was not there. To my surprise, I glanced out her bedroom window and saw her enter your cottage."
I stared at the woman without emotion.
"It is not my business what you and Sheila do in your free time together. Her sex life is not my concern. What is my concern is that she may lose sight of her goal of being accepted to the Vienna Music Academy."
"Is that Sheila's goal or yours?"
"Both. Sheila has had that desire since she was a child, and I could tell that it never went away. Unfortunately, the girl lacks focus. She still wants the prize, but too often things get in the way to distract her. I do not want you to become a distraction to her, Miss Malloy."
I stared at my employer without expression. "Sheila came by last evening to talk and we ended up playing gin rummy. She seriously kicked my ass, by the way. Sometimes young girls need to simply chat with women closer to their own age, Mrs. Tate. Not to say that you and your daughter don't have a strong relationship, but sometimes girls need to have a little girl talk, not parent/child discussions."
The woman relaxed slightly in her chair. "I see."
"Rosa came to my cottage last night as well," I added. "She was frightened by the storm. The poor girl needed to have someone to come to when she was scared."
Mrs. Tate offered a wry smile. "Quite a little party you had last night, Miss Malloy."
I smiled warmly. "As a matter of fact, Sheila mentioned that you were the only one missing. I hope you know you are always welcome in my cottage, Angela. You don't need a thunderstorm as an excuse to stop over and chat."
The lady nodded soberly and rose to her feet. "I apologize for attacking and accusing you, Tina. I get so focused on my daughter's future that sometimes it blinds me to the fact that in many ways the girl is still a child. I'm glad you were there for her as a friend and as a companion." Angela stood in front of me and rested her rear against the edge of her desk. "Though I have to admit, I'm a little jealous of her as well."
"Jealous?"
"I know that Sheila and Rosa were playmates and then lovers growing up. I didn't say anything at the time because I saw it as a harmless distraction for the girls. I know that Sheila still has a partiality toward women lovers. When I saw her enter your cottage, I thought it was for sexual purposes."
I furrowed my brow with a puzzled expression. "Is that what this is really about? You're jealous of Sheila because you thought I was sleeping with her?"
"Yes. I suppose I am. I know it sounds selfish and silly, but I must admit I want you all to myself. The first night you and I held each other I felt something, a stirring inside me that I haven't felt in years. Perhaps because I've been lonely for so long. I realize how absurd this must sound now that I hear myself actually saying it out loud. But I was hoping I might be able to feel that sensation with you again."
My lips curled into a knowing smile. "Why, Angie, darling! I didn't know you felt that way about me!"
The woman sighed sadly and leaned back with her hands resting behind her on her desk. "I can't help having feelings toward you, Tina. You are so beautiful and intelligent and fun to be with. I guess I'm much lonelier than I thought I was and didn't know there was such a huge void in my life until I met you. You stir longings in me I never knew I had. As you know, my husband has been gone for more than four years now and I've been concentrating on running the house and controlling my daughter ever since. But now that Sheila will be going to school outside of the country, it gives me pause to take an assessment of my life. I never realized until recently how utterly alone I'm going to be."
I slowly rose to my feet. "You don't have to be alone, you know. You're still a very attractive woman."
"For someone on the downslide toward fifty?"
"No. I happen to think you are quite lovely, regardless of how old you think you are."
Angela smiled. "Tactfully put. But I'm not quite ready to dive back into the dating scene just yet. I could use some companionship, but I don't want to play those games associated with courting rituals."
I moved closer, resting my hand on the woman's sleeve. "Are you telling me, you prefer to have a woman lover?"
"It would certainly make things a lot less complicated."
My hand smoothed over my boss' arm. "You are more than welcome to visit me in my cottage whenever you are in need of some companionship... and intimacy."
Mrs. Tate eyed me curiously. "You aren't saying that merely because I'm your employer?"
"Of course not. And it isn't because I feel sorry for you either." I caressed her arm and looked at the floor. "I have to tell you something Angela, and it may jeopardize my employment with you."
Her brow furrowed with a puzzled expression. "What is it?"
"I'm not like other women." I took her wrist in my hand. "I'm not like any woman you've ever known."
I brought her hand to my crotch. Angela's eyes grew wide. "My heavens!"
"I was born with a penis, but that doesn't make me any less a woman. I want you to know that you are welcome to visit my cottage anytime you want. I know a woman can sometimes get lonely and she has needs. But if it is female companionship you are seeking, you may get more than you bargained for with me."
Angie gave me a quizzical expression as she felt my dick in her fingers. "Why on earth would you think this would affect your employment with me?"
"I was worried you wouldn't want your daughter to be around a freak."
"You are not a freak, Tina. You are a beautiful and talented lady." Her lips curled into a wry smile. "Apparently more talented than I originally anticipated."
"I'm glad you're not shocked."
