Mother Nature's Vaccine
So, we're going to start a new story. A story based in reality, but still a fantasy. Sometime we exist in a situation that only allows us the solace of our fantasies. There's nothing wrong with fantasies, even if they make us long for the reality more.
What we have is a man and a woman, they are both middle-aged. The man in our story is about 56 years old. He's a mechanic working at a local shop. The woman in our story is about 45 years old. She's a healthcare worker, working for a local retail pharmacy. What has brought these two together was just in a general kind customer service way.
Trevor is the man of this story, he's approximately six foot tall, give or take and probably around 250 lbs. He's a normal man, some muscle tone from the daily rife of auto mechanics, but a bit of a beer gut due to the daily indulges after the work day is over.
Our woman in this story is McKenna, she's also fairly normal. She's had three kids, about 20 some odd years ago and she has the tiger stripes and scars to prove it. She's about five feet eight inches tall, and about 199 lbs. She's recently lost some weight due to a diet for her health. McKenna is happy about her new body but rather self-conscience about the loose skin as a result. Of course, none of this is any concern to Trevor, he's mostly entranced by her smile, greens eyes and the fantasy of her lips wrapped around his cock.
Trevor and McKenna are both in unfulfilling relationships, we won't go into detail as to why, but they continue on their balancing act of flirtation without the intention of cheating.
Sometimes, when we've been in a relationship for a long time with a partner who no longer shows interest, we become lonely and depressed. Once we get the slightest bit of interest from another person, the sparks begin to fly and fantasies ignite, only tempered by the limits of our own imagination. At times the fantasy is much better than the reality.
This flirtation between Trevor and McKenna kept going for years, until one odd flu season with an unexpected winter tornado. It was November, McKenna and the rest of the pharmacy staff has received their flu shot shipment in this year as early as August. The CDC has predicted flu was going to be especially bad last month or so ago, so people had been clamoring in to get their shots, especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner.
This was a random weekday night, it wasn't too busy, usually things slow down by Wednesday, Monday is usually the busiest day for this pharmacy. Luckily, it wasn't Monday on the first of the month or the line would run all the way back to the photo department.
McKenna was typing up scripts when she saw Trevor walking up to her computer/register. "Mr. Jarrett, how are we today?" asked McKenna with a wide smile.
"Doing alright, McKenna especially after seeing your smiling face." Trevor said with his Arkansas twang and a bit of an ornery twinkle in his eye. Trevor was wearing his mechanic uniform complete with his name badge. There were wet spots on his uniform and he was cleaning off his glasses.
"You sure you can see my face without those glasses on?" McKenna teased. "What happened you find a puddle?"
"Na, random storm started up outside. I might hang out with you for a bit until it passes, looks like it's going to be a dozy. I swear I saw a wall cloud hanging over highway 169." Trevor said, as he put back on his glasses.
"Well, if you're going to hang out with us, maybe I can talk you into signing up for a flu shot, CDC says the flu season is going to be kind of bad this year. I saw in your profile you've had some Tamiflu in the past, we can get you hooked up so you hopefully won't need that this year, plus it'll give you some protection to not get the missus sick." McKenna said, in her best saleswoman voice.
"I don't know. I really hate shots. Would you be the one to give me this shot?" he asked staring at her Certified Immunizer badge.
"Yep! Sure can, I think the storm is keeping the people away, so we have time. I gave my boyfriend a shot just last weekend. He's a big baby about shots, but said he didn't feel a thing." As McKenna gave her most reassuring smile.
"Alright I guess you've convinced me. I've got a few scripts to pick up, but you can sign me up for a shot I suppose. As long as you give me the shot, I think that pharmacist you've got back there looks a lil' sadistic. Tell 'em I want you," as Trevor said the last statement, he cocked his eyebrow and lowered his voice an octave.
McKenna blushed a lil', when she momentarily made straight eye contact with Trevor and hit him with a coy smile of her own. So, much unspoken knowledge passed between them over the years, and some things spoken but never consummated.
McKenna cleared her throat, "Are the scripts just for you or the missus too?"
"I'm making it easy on ya tonight, it's just my scripts." Trevor winked.
McKenna looked up Mr. Jarrett on the computer and saw his three scripts in the queue, but first she went to his profile and signed him up for a flu shot.
"Okay, we got three scripts and let me get the paperwork for the flu shot." As she turned around facing the pharmacist, yelling, "I've just put in a shot."
"I'll process your shot," shouted back the pharmacist, "but you'll have to make it quick I think the floor manager is getting worried about this storm and we may have to close down and seek shelter."
"Well, shoot the vaccination room is probably just as good as the dang hallway, for shelter. I promised Mr. Jarrett his shot." McKenna told the pharmacist.
"Okay, I've approved it, but the rest of us will close down the pharmacy. You and Mr. Jarrett can join us in the office hallway, once you're done giving him a shot." Said Chad, the on duty pharmacist.
McKenna ran around grabbing Mr. Jarrett's scripts, the vaccination paperwork and the shot itself. McKenna joined Mr. Jarrett back at her computer and began ringing up his scripts.
"You hear all that nonsense Mr. Jarrett? They're making us take shelter for this dumb storm. Whoever heard of a tornado in the middle of November? You going to be okay sheltering with me in our vaccination room? We can go to the office hallway afterwards. Or if you really want to skip the shot, we can go to the hallway after I get you rung up." McKenna said with a nervous catch in her voice.
"If you're okay to give the shot. I'm good sheltering with you." Again, Trevor said with that cocked eyebrow and lil' ornery grin.
McKenna had thought about Mr. Jarrett's expression once or twice alone with her special toy, especially the grin that went with the lips. Sometimes the old song, "Passionate Kisses" by Mary Chapin Carpenter played in her head when she thought about his smile. She hadn't had passionate kisses for a long while.
"Storms make me a lil' nervous, but I'm a well-trained professional. I can give ya a shot." McKenna gave a reassuring grin.
Trevor and McKenna finished with the transaction and McKenna gathered up all the vaccination paperwork and the shot itself. McKenna's coworker was lowering pharmacy lock shield between the counter and the rest of the pharmacy.
McKenna went out the pharmacy main door, she went to the vaccination room and put in the security code. She looked at Mr. Jarrett and motioned for him to come inside. She pointed toward the patient chair near the table at the left side of the room. He walked to it and sat down.
"Okay, so this is a lil' unorthodox right now with this storm and all. Usually, I have you fill out this paperwork while I get the shot ready, but we're going to have to do both together." McKenna bent over to hand Trevor the clipboard of vaccination permission paperwork. Bending over she gave Trevor a little more view down her scrub top than she'd intended. He took full opportunity to get a view of her black lace bra. He took the clipboard and caressed her hand in the process. She pulled back and walked to the counter to get the syringe ready.
As Trevor looked at the paperwork he said, "I Like your butterfly tattoo."
McKenna was gathering needle and syringe and setting them on the counter. Hastily she said, "Look Mr. Jarrett..."
"McKenna could you at least call me Trevor?"
McKenna whipped around her rolling office chair. She stared at Trevor, relaxed for a minute let out a deep breath.
"Okay, Trevor. I'm not used to having the patient in here while I prep the syringe. So, could you give me a quiet second while I get everything ready." McKenna tried to smile.
Trevor smiled and gave a thumbs up as he went back to the paperwork. They sat in quiet, but the storm was not quiet it sounded like a torrential down fall and rolling thunder making the overhead PA system sputter with each clap.
McKenna got her gloves on and unsheathed the needle plugging it into the syringe. She uncapped the flu vaccine vial and stuck the needle into the rubber top of the vial. Inverting the vial on top of the syringe, she drew up the liquid into the syringe. Withdrawing the needle from the vial, she looked at the syringe, tapped the out the bubbles. Recapping the needle, she got out alcohol pads, Band-Aid and cotton swab.
McKenna walked toward the table and placed all the items in a row on the table. She pulled her rolling chair next to the table and sat down. Trevor handed her the clip board with the paperwork. She looked over every question making sure he'd answered all the questions. She wrote down the vaccine lot number and expiration date on the paper work.
Clearing her throat in her professional voice, "Trevor Jarrett, birthdate..."
"Really fucking old," interrupted Trevor.
"Oh shush. You're not that old. Okay skipping birthdate... we are getting the flu shot today. Yes?" Trevor nodded in agreement. "Which arm do your prefer?" asked McKenna.
"Can we do my right?" Trevor asked.
The way their vaccination room was set up it was usually easiest to do the left arm, without either rolling over toward the right side or making the patient turn their chair.
