It was a Friday night and Dan was at the bar with some buddies. It had become pretty much the routine after the break-up with his long term girlfriend of more than four years. The split had been sudden and two months afterwards his girlfriend was married to another man.
Dan was distraught over the situation for quite some time. It had already been two years since the relationship had ended and Dan was still mentally struggling with it. He had only been on few dates since and for Dan it seemed he had let the love of his life get away.
After ordering one last drink for the night Dan saw a woman who looked vaguely familiar. She was sitting with a small group of people and as Dan got nearer he recognized her as someone he knew from his high school days.
Helen was the first girl Dan had gone out with on an actual date. It was the homecoming dance his sophomore year and she had asked him. Helen was a year older than Dan. He had been surprised and excited to have an older girl asking him for a date.
Although Dan was hot for Helen, she decided that dating a younger guy was not what she wanted. The relationship lasted less than a month.
It had been more than six years since their brief relationship ended. This was the first time Dan had seen Helen since before her high school graduation. She still had long dark hair and with the red lipstick she was wearing Dan thought she looked stunningly gorgeous.
When Helen saw Dan as he approached the table she recognized him. "Oh my god, I haven't seen you in years. How are you?"
After a few minutes of small talk Helen invited Dan to join her and her friends. The conversation between them went on pretty much non-stop. About a half hour later when Helen's friends were ready to leave she told Dan "It was really great to see you again. I wish I could stay longer but I'm riding with them."
Dan immediately offered to give her a ride if she wanted to stay longer and Helen replied "That would be wonderful. I haven't seen you in forever and I'd really like to talk some more."
After ordering a round of drinks, Dan and Helen continued to catch up on what was happening in each others lives.
When Dan was about to order another round Helen said "Why don't we just go back to my apartment? I have some beers and we can smoke some weed if you're into that?"
Dan could hardly respond quickly enough. "Absolutely! Just tell me how to get there."
As they drove to Helen's apartment Dan asked "So do you live alone?"
"No, I share the apartment with a friend but I think he's gone for the night."
Dan was surprised to hear that Helen was sharing an apartment with a guy. He gave her an inquisitive look but before he could say anything she told him "It's not what you think, we aren't a couple. The relationship is strictly platonic. We share all the expenses equally."
Helen kind of bit her lip and blushed. "I won't say that we haven't had sex but it's not something we do regularly. We just occasionally help each other out if we have a need for it."
Dan said "Well okay I guess. It sounds like you have an interesting relationship but if you say you aren't lovers then I'm good with that."
Helen laughed. "Oh we are far from lovers. Like I said, we really are just friends that share an apartment. We're both free to do what we want or date whoever we want."
After going inside, Helen got beers for Dan and herself then retrieved some weed from her bedroom. As the two smoked a joint they continued talking about their lives. Helen knew that Dan had been in a relationship for a number of years. She was curious about why it ended and Dan talked openly about it.
Dan told Helen he hadn't been in a serious relationship and had only been on a few dates since the break-up. She said "Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure it's difficult at times."
As Dan shook his head in agreement Helen got a sly smile on her face. "So I guess your hand must get a lot of activity."
Dan was caught off guard by her comment. As he blushed Helen said "Joking, just joking. I only wanted to see your reaction."
As Dan recovered from her comment, Helen rubbed her hand across his leg and giggled nervously. "Maybe we could do something about that tonight. I'd be happy to help give your hand a rest."
Helen then got a more serious look on her face as she looked directly at Dan. Without saying another word she lifted her red sweater and took it off. Dan was absolutely speechless as he watched Helen unclasp her bra and remove it too.
Dan was in awe at the woman in front of him. She had the biggest shapeliest breasts that he had ever laid eyes on that weren't in a magazine or a movie. Her areolas were larger than silver dollars with perky big nipples protruding from within them.
Helen was kneeling on the sofa facing Dan with her long dark hair hanging over her shoulders. Her brown eyes were glistening and her red lipstick was now driving Dan crazy with desire. Before Dan could say a word the door entering the apartment unlocked and a man walked inside. "Oh hey, I'm sorry Helen. I didn't know you had someone here."
Almost instantaneously Helen replied "Not a problem. I wasn't expecting you back or I would have put a note on the door."
She continued on. "Phil this is Dan, Dan this is Phil."
Everything was so nonchalant that Dan assumed it wasn't the first time a situation like this had occurred. Helen was topless and Phil never mentioned it.
Although it felt awkward, it was obvious there was no animosity and Dan was relieved by that. He was also disappointed. He thought for certain that whatever was about to happen probably wouldn't happen now.
Phil walked past Dan and Helen. "Don't mind me. I'm just going to get a beer and go watch some TV in my room."
