Happy Chicken
She was more daring than he was, more liable to try something dangerous and new, more likely to push her limits, but he would lovingly follow her into fire it seemed. She simply had that affect on Professor David Handler. When they got married, she wanted to celebrate their nuptials by jumping out of an airplane that was high above the ground. Why would a person do this? he asked just before he jumped.
He didn't like being on a six foot ladder, so heights aren't his favorite thing. When they made the jump the instructor assured him it was perfectly safe, but the warnings on the brochure didn't instill much confidence. They each jumped with an instructor strapped to them, so if they died he died, but that didn't keep him from being terrified.
He didn't think he had ever been so scared, except as a high school freshman when the seniors threatened to pants any guy who stumbled into the wrong restroom. He didn't know which ones were the right ones. He didn't pee at school the whole first year of high school. To be 'pantsed' meant to be secured on a four foot pole stuck up your pants leg so you could not get off without taking off your pants.
When they got on the ground after the jump, she could not stop smiling and he could not stop thanking God that they had survived.
Emily is a nudist, a rock climber, a runner, a biker, a diver, photographer, and the most free thinking person he had ever met. To say she is left of center is an incredible understatement, like saying Mother Theresa had a nice personality.
She believes in the U.S. Constitution, human rights, and she hasn't been to church since she was baptized at two weeks. She has strong feelings about integrity, philanthropy, religion, and sex. She values honesty above all, feels strongly about helping others, and believes sex should not the basis for a long-term relationship.
They met at a charity event she had helped plan. She was one of the organizers and a friend of his introduced them. "I have someone you should meet," he said, knowing the professor would be smitten.
She was not only one of the organizers of the event, she was also a knockout. With long blond hair, a great figure, and a smile that could tame a grizzly, she was a woman you don't soon forget or ignore.
She thinks everyone should have sex at least once a day, even if it is only with yourself. She is not choosy whether it is with a man or a woman. She adores any kind of seafood, especially shrimp or lobster, and what she calls artisan bread just out of the oven layered with warm, genuine butter.
"You are professor Handler?" she said flashing that killer smile. "Right?"
"Yes," he said, "and you are Ms. Emily Watson."
She smiled and nodded, acknowledging that she was one of the organizers of the event. "I am free after the lecture today," she said assertively. "Would you like to go for coffee and talk about ourselves?" she asked him.
"I like coffee," he said, "and I'd like to hear about you. I am here with a friend, so I don't have a car."
"Mine has two seats," she said. "Would your friend mind if you left with me?"
"He'd understand," he said, nodding at his friend who had overheard and smiled, understanding his friend's interest in the woman with the incredible smile and the adorable backside.
"Give me a call," the professor's friend said making the sign of a phone by his ear.
Emily and Professor Handler left in her car and drove to a nearby Starbucks. They ordered their drinks and found a table. "Tell me about yourself," he said.
"Well, I am what they call a modern woman," she said. "I have no husband, no cat, few inhibitions, and almost no boundaries. I pretty much do what I like to whomever I like, and I think I like you," she said. "At least what I have seen so far, and I think I'd like to see more of you, if you know what I mean."
"I hope so," he said. "I would also enjoy seeing more of you, and I am sure you know what I mean," he said.
"You don't have anything against sex do you professor?" she asked boldly.
"You mean the human act that reproduces the species?" he said.
"That's the one," she replied with a grin.
"I don't mind it," he said.
