Shopping with my neighbor was fun. The one thing I preferred to shopping with her versus my late wife was that she was a list shopper also. She did the traditional shopping for clothes also, but when it came to groceries, she was a get in get out type person. Since we were both single, we would go shopping together. It was a great chance to catch up without the pressure of making out and such. That was probably one of the reasons our times together were so explosive. We did not have sex every time we were together. The time together without touching seemed to make things better in the long run.
It was our usual shopping day, and we were going to the store together. It was also her turn to drive. We alternated because it was only fair. As we drove to the store, I was looking out the window. I still had the events of my birthday still on my mind. The fact she left my wife's necklace at the gravestone was perplexing me a little. I did not want to ask her why she did it, but it was still in my head.
"Amor, why did you leave Missy's necklace at the grave?"
She smiled.
"She told me to. It was in the dream I had about her. Something about she would always be yours and such."
I kept quiet for a moment before I looked at her. She seemed distracted also.
"What's on your mind, Amor?"
'I wonder if I could ever live up to her. The submissive stuff I mean. She was collared, and she was also so forthcoming about what you two did. I was so envious because I wanted that."
She stopped in a parking space before she looked at me.
"I want to do better. I mean, I know we're not married or anything. I just want to make you happy too. You already do that to me just by allowing me to explore with you and such. I just do not want to screw up."
I leaned in close and kissed her lips softly. Then I kissed her forehead.
"Never compare yourself to Missy. There are many differences between you two. The big thing I need you to know is that I love you because you're you. In my mind, you are perfect the way you are."
She smiled at me.
"I'll stop trying to measure up to her when you stop worrying about disappointing Mitchell."
I laughed.
