"Ok hun, sounds good....mhmmm... ok... see you in a few..... Bye.."
I hung up the phone looking forward to spending the afternoon at the pool with Kelly, my neighborhood bestie for the last 5 years. Our husbands were out of town at a conference and we were left to our own devices. Today seemed like a good day to spend at the pool, catching up, soaking up the sun and maybe having a few tropical drinks.
I quickly found my bikini, lamenting that this might be the last chance I get to wear it with the summer coming to an end. I put it on, checking myself out in the mirror before grabbing my sunglasses and heading to the kitchen to make our drinks.
As I grabbed the rum from the cabinet, my mind wandered to the many times Kelly and I had spent together by the pool. I recalled the way her eyes sparkled in the sun and how her skin glistened with sweat as we sipped our drinks. I couldn't help but feel a tingle of desire in my stomach, wondering what it would be like to touch her in ways we had never explored before. Before I could finish my thoughts, Kelly arrived at the sliding door that leads to the pool, her own bikini clad body causing my pulse to quicken. She smiled at me, her eyes roaming over my body before she spoke.
"You look amazing," she said, her voice low and husky.
"You too," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
I felt myself blush under her gaze and her compliment, my heart racing with excitement. As she walked past me, I caught a whiff of her perfume, a scent that was familiar yet intoxicating. She followed me outside after handing her the drink I had just made. The sun was hot on our skin, and I couldn't help but feel aroused by the way her body glistened in the light. We spent the next hour lounging by the pool, chatting about everything and nothing at all. I couldn't help but steal glances at her (thank god for sunglasses), my desire for her growing with each passing moment.
As the sun began to set, Kelly suggested we take a dip in the pool. Without hesitation, I followed her into the cool water, my body reacting to the sensation of her skin brushing against mine as we floated around in the deep end of the pool. We swam around for a while, splashing each other and laughing like teenagers.
But soon, the playful atmosphere took a turn towards something more sensual. Kelly and I swam closer together. Her eyes twinkled in the dim light. Skin glistening from the swim. I was overcome with a sense of curiosity and boldness.
"Do you ever think about us, you know, being more than just friends?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
She blushed, almost frozen for a moment as if she was trying to process what I was asking her. She stuttered, unsure of what to say. I decided to take it one step further.
"Do you ever think about us, you know, touching each other, like a girlfriend would?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I..uh...well..I.." she stammered, her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red. I could tell she was aroused, but I wasn't sure if she was nervous or excited about what I had just suggested.
"I wasn't expecting anything out of this that you aren't comfortable with." I say trying to give her an out if I was overstepping.
I reached out to touch her arm, hoping for any kind of physical reaction that would signal her interest. She seemed to relax a bit in the water. I could see her breathing was becoming more intense, an excited sparkle in her eyes. I swam closer to her, my stomach aching with excitement.
"It's just been super hot outside and um, I have been thinking about you all day. I was just curious if you had ever thought about that..you know, I don't know, doing stuff," I said, the embarrassment of my words causing my face to flush. Kelly nodded, I could see her biting her lip as she began to speak.
"Uh, ya, I mean, I have thought about it. I mean, I always thought that when we got to this point, if we ever did, then it would be something that we talked about and ah, I don't know, decided together."
I nodded, too nervous and excited to speak. The water was warm around us, making it easy to forget that our neighbors would have an easy view of us if they just so happened to be looking out this way. Not that I really cared, I was far too excited just to be talking about doing more than just talking.
"Well," I said, the question hanging in the air between us as we floated in the water. Kelly looked around, then down at the water, a nervous smile on her face.
