It was the August long weekend. Alex and Maya was partying with his dad's Rich friends a week ago and one drunken rich jerk got talking about the old asylum and how it was haunted. After some back and forth the old man agreed to a bet, if they could spend the long weekend there and survive, he would pay for Alex's first year university. If we lost, Alex had to give up his ring that had been in the family For years.
Maya thought it was a joke, until the next day when everyone was sober the bet was confirmed. The rich old man even threw in cash for Maya but not an amount specified. When telling her friend Rachael, the free spirit bestie thought it was an awesome idea and recruited her boyfriend Thomas.
The group agreed one fun adventure before they all move away.
It was Friday 6 pm as they drove up in Alex's pickup truck. The back of the truck loaded with blankets, sheets, two tents, a cooler of food, a cooler or drinks, a camping grill. After opening the gate they parked at the back loading dock and closed the gate behind them. The truck not visible from the road.
Maya stepped out first pushing the broken wood door open "if we see homeless people we bolt. Nets off if that happens as too dangerous "

Both Thomas and Alex grabbed the items in the back of the truck, this included both coolers the cooking grill the tents and other necessary equipment to survive a week away from civilization, in order to make sure Thomas had also packed his dads hunting rifle which they used when going on winter hunting getaways
"We will put the stuff here for a moment, me and Rachael will explore and find us a decent room to hold up in, once that's done we will sign all to you guys and Alex can start hauling the equipment in, I will come out to help" Thomas said letting out his plan to all of them
When their friends were gone Maya went beside Alex and put an arm around his back. "Scared yet?" She had a playful tone. Then she leaned in to whisper "I packed two boxes of condoms if we can be alone enough away from them" as she gave his neck a kiss and her hand rubbed his crotch briefly before she pulled it away laughing being a tease. "Let's check this way" she said pointing to the right. The other had went to the left
Maya checked her phone and was happy she had full reception.
"No of course not, me never scared" he joked before speaking again "I'm sure this building has many rooms we can explore ourselves in"
As he crotch felt his girlfriends hand it jumped up with excitement, he loved his girlfriend to bits and was the best thing to happen to him
"Of course my queen" he played back walking to the right inside the building
Inside Thomas and Rachael explored looking into a few of the rooms, most of them were dusty and dark, the smell either of animal faeces or just the smell of old furniture decaying
"What do you think of this room
Rachel" he asked her as he brought her close with his hand around her shoulders
"Looks good enough, the ceiling is high, we have enough room for our tents and there's some ventilation" she replied looking around.
Maya and Alex were checking out the side with single rooms. Each having a metal bed still there but no mattresses. Maya noticed the leather straps for keeping patients safe if they were a danger to themselves or others. She point to it laughing to Alex "kinky" as kept exploring.
Maya had made Alex pack a broom and dustpan so they could cleanup any room or rooms they decide to use this 4 day weekend.
There was rooms at the ended there had no beds. Just padded walls inside. "Better than no mattress " Maya said about these rooms versus the metal bed ones. "At least we brought blow up mattresses anyways. "
"Yeah I'm sure this would be comfy enough, maybe we can bring one of the metal beds in here and I can tie you up" Alex replied with a wide smile before turning it to a smirk
"Do we know the history of this place anyway, what did that old man say again" Alex said as he looked Maya his eyes still amazed by her beauty
Thomas and Rachael embraced each other "I think this is alright I'll get the dustpan and brush and clean some of the mess to make it more homely" Rachael said
"Good idea, let's go get Alex and Maya and bring the equipment in" Thomas said grabbing Rachael hand as they left the room
And walked to the entrance.
Maya nodded as she had heard some legends. "Well, the legend of Oak wood Asylum was two parts. First that it started as place they tried to reprogram people that were acting different than the locals wanted. Criminals, beggars,,,, and well remember it was a different time,,,,, but interracial couples.
They used shock treatment and abuse. Some patients died from poor quality, lack of food. And,,, other. One of the first patients was Maisie Williams a daughter of a rich plantation owner. She had taken up with a coloured boy Jenkins. Well,,,, they gave her shock treatment, hypnosis trying to fix her away from that. Well,,,, Jenkins loved her and heard her screams of pain at night from their abuse.
The second part of the legend was that,,,,, one night,,,,, Jenkins broke in! He snuck in the loading dock pretending to deliver laundry. He opened Maisey's room. He found her tied to the bed with leather restraints. Well,,,,, he freed her,,,,,, but,,,,,, their reprogramming had worked,,,,,, she was terrified of 'Jenkins, and she grabbed a pen off her desk chart and stabbed the huge Jenkins in the neck.
Apparently the staff was used to crazy sounds at night so no one checked til morning. By then poor Jenkins was dead bled out on the ground. And since that day, old Jenkins has haunted this place. Rumor was patients AND staff reported seeing him. Some

As she finished her story a noise at the door startled them. But it Thomas not anything scary.
"That story, I'm sure it's made up for people like us who enjoy the thrill stories and abandoned places" Thomas came in with Rachael is hand still holding hers
"Well even if it is haunted I'm not going anywhere, this watch as been in my family for generations" Alex said reacting to both Mayas story and Thomas's speech
"We've found a room we can use, we are going to clean it out and make it more homely" Rachael said releasing Thomas hand and walking over to Maya
"Patients bedroom or some sort of room where they medicated them" Rachael said asking a question out loud as she wondered the room both Alex and Maya just explored
Maya had researched the place more than the other 3 it seemed. "These padded rooms were for crazy patients usually in straight jackets. The normal rooms were the metal beds where they locked patients in every night "
Smiling at her friend she nodded the way out. "Let's go see the room you pick and get cleaning. " as she took her friends hand. Maya was 100% straight but had no issues holding hands with her friend.
"Let go haul this stuff in, ideally we can get settled before night fall" Thomas said as he turned around
Alex followed right after him, as they got out each of them carried various items inside and into the room.
At first they brought some of the cleaning equipment along with the coolers and cooking tools, they they hauled the tents and the couple of flashlights and tools they brought including a axe and a hammer
