April and I were about to get married when I got on the team. I became a graduate assistant. My new wife had been a virgin when she gave herself to me. I can not tell you how proud I was of her. She was raised in a wonderful Christian home. Two years later I became an assistant coach.
We have a 20 man roster, 18 blacks and 2 whites. At the time I started our guys were about half single and half married. All were very nice people. Ten years and three children later I became head coach and we have new ownership. And things changed in lots of ways.
The owners had a much more hands on approach than before. And one was they wanted all coaches wives much more involved with players wives and they felt even more involvement was needed with the players. Of our twenty man roster 19 are married now. We now have only one white player and he is married. So the one unmarried is a black player who actually was but is now divorced. He was married to a white girl and they have 2 children. Only two players are married to black women and one is our white player.
The percentage of black pro-players is very high who are married to white girls. Our new ownership wanted all of our coaches wife's to be much closer with the team wives and the players. April and I talked about this in depth. We were not really sure what to make of it. But coaches wives began to spend much more time with the team wives.
My five young coaches are all married to very pretty young women. With only one wife being a bit heavy but very cute. I feel my wife April leads the pack, being head coach's wife. April is not just very pretty she is beautiful. And has a very sexy body. A memo soon came down that much was better with our wives spending more time with the players wives, but not the players. It was ask that it get better.
Not completely understanding what was really desired I called Pam Banks our PR person. When she answered I just ask her.
"Pam I just got the memo from our head office about coaches wives spending more time with the players. What exactly does that mean?"
"Dave can you read between the lines on that one?"
"I guess not Pam maybe I am just stupid. I can't see this as companionship of any kind unless it has to do with sex between our wives and the players."
"See Dave, you are not that stupid, black men love to share their women and you guys are a team, so?"
And she had hung up. As I realized what she had just said, I wanted to as if she was really part of our team were the players making her a part of it too. As I thought about it Pam was down here much more lately than before, so maybe she was? Pam was just under thirty with a very nice family. She would be a very nice prize for the team to enjoy. I sat in my office and considered what to do. I began to look for a new job, but my job was exactly what I wanted and we were living exactly the area my wife wanted.
In the end I knew we needed to talk about this as a husband and wife, and as a team family. A couple of days went by before I finally started to bring it up with my wife.
"David we all got memos from the new ownership a few days ago, we wives that is. And Pam sent it out with a note from her with it. Her note said simply they desire more contact with staff wives and players. Our player all share their wives. It is hoped our coaches will do so also. I am doing my part and hope you all will also."
April smiled at me and said she called Pam right after she got her note.
"What did she say Baby?"
"I ask her exactly what was going on?"
She told me the players want the coaches to have more skin in the game for the team. And they are complaining to the new ownership about it. It got very plain what the players feel is fair. The players share each others wives. They feel we should be close enough to do that too.
"What does the coaches sharing each others wives have to do with anything?"
