It had been a few months since the first Moon Festival and Alistar was starting to settle into his Aurelian lifestyle. He had certainly embraced the openness with which Aurelians shared their bodies. He had taken several women and men to bed, sometimes multiple at once, and he had to admit it did promote a sense of community. He was disappointed though that he had not had any more intimate encounters with Xayah. She was very busy fulfilling her duties as the chieftainess. At least he would get to see her tonight at Rakan's send off.
The music grew louder as Alistar approached the square. He greeted the familiar villagers as he took his place next to Azir. He looked over to the chieftains carpet, hoping to catch Xayah's eye. He had no luck, as she was cuddled up with Rakan, her back against his bare chest and her head nestled in his neck. He watched intently, noting every movement in her face as she laughed, the way her hand mindlessly stroked Rakan's thigh. He looked away and swallowed his feelings of envy. Alistar turned to Azir and asked "So what exactly is this send off for?"
"Rakan must depart on a vision quest for the next two weeks. He will venture alone into the desert and seek guidance from the nature spirits in making difficult decisions for the tribe. He does this twice a year to ensure he remains a strong and wise leader," Azir explained.
Just then, they were interrupted as Xayah appeared next to them.
"Good evening Alistar. Could I talk to you for a minute?" she asked.
Alistar's face lit up at the sight of Xayah's smile. He had not realized how much he missed simply being in her presence.
"Sure! What's up?" He asked.
"Well since Rakan is leaving tomorrow there are some... duties that I need help with. I was wondering if you'd like to assist me in his absence."
Alistar hesitated as he pondered what Xayah could need that an aide could not provide.
Xayah noted his silence, "Of course you can feel free to say no-"
"I'd love to help out," Alistar cut her off.
"Great," Xayah said with a relieved smile. "You can come to my dwelling tomorrow evening to get started."

Alistar could hardly focus on his documentation the next day. His mind was racing wondering what the evening had in store. He was excited to spend more time with Xayah while Rakan was gone. He tried not to get ahead of himself, keeping in mind that Rakan would eventually return and reclaim his mate.
