She had just finished a really long shift at the bar, was on her way home and as hungry as a horse. She decided to stop at the fast food place around the corner from the bar. It was just before 2 a.m. and they were getting ready to close. She walked in and ordered a double cheeseburger combo with an extra large drink and fries then found a seat in the corner. From her vantage point, she could see the manager on duty. He looked to be about 30, well-built and even looked decent in that ridiculous uniform they were forced to wear. While she was eating, from the corner of her eye, she saw him checking her out. She did nothing to encourage or discourage his interest. As she disposed of her garbage, she gave him a wink then left the restaurant. She got into her car and waited.
Forty-five minutes later, she watched as all the staff and manger left the store at the same time. One staff member spotted her in her car. "It's your lucky night Mr. Pinto!" he teased. She overheard his comment and smiled.
He said good night to the crew ensuring they all left safely, and walked to her car. "Is there a problem, miss?"
"Only that you're still standing there and not getting into my car," she insisted. He hesitated for a moment then slowly walked around to the passenger's side. He couldn't believe this was happening. "Do you live near here?" she asked as he climbed in.
"I live five blocks from here, at Mackenzie and Ball. The big apartment building on the left." He decided to play along for the whole four quarters of the game. He'd go back in the morning to get his car. She knew the one he was referring to and drove right there.
