All of his heart reached out to her but she just wouldn’t have him. So he walked away. For a brief moment he stopped at the door and questioned his decision to leave her alone then decided it was best.
----------
Cameron wondered if she had been just a bit too harsh with her words, but they needed to be said. This thing between Dianne and Will was dangerous, fragile, and pure. From around the hall corner she watched her friend clutch to herself as Will reached out and touched her. She saw the look on her face as he got up and walked away from her. She also saw that twitch in his movement at the door.
After she wandered back to her room she sat in her window seat and thought of them as well as her and Alex. He was just as bad as Dianne had said he was. She smiled as the memory of the night before flooded her mind with images and the knowledge she had taught him a few new tricks. Still it was just what he needed to get over Dianne and it was just what she needed to get over him.
She took a deep breath and sighed as she realized that she not only had sex with her best friend’s ex-boyfriend but she had done so in Dianne’s bed. There is only shame in this fact.
----------
Eventually Dianne wondered out of the corner and found Cam in her room changing the sheets. She didn’t say anything just went to her desk and started writing. She would never sleep on those sheets again, they held shame and a furious anger as well as betrayal.
“I’ll wash these for you.” Cam said.
“Keep them. You already used them. Might as well, Cam.”
“I’m sorry.”
Dianne didn’t answer, there was nothing else she could say that would help ease or ignite the anger she felt welling inside her. The damage was done. She heard Cam gather up the sheets and flee from the room, leaving a freshly changed bed and a scent of lilac and lavender air freshener.
Getting up from the desk, she stripped her clothes and threw them in the corner; in the mirror she could still see where Will had deposited himself on her chest. She touched it with a longing before gathering her towel and finally stepping into the shower.
She stood there letting the warm water wash over her body, letting it explore all her skin’s crevices and planting their soothing feeling on them. As if on cue the tears started to well in her eyes again as they slowly made their way down her face.
She leaned her back against the white tile wall and let herself slide down; she rested her arms on her knees and watched the steady stream of hot water before her eyes fall and splash on the ground. She closed her eyes and tried to shake off her feelings, instead her mind greeted her with images of the afternoon session she had with Will.
Her skin could still feel the way his fingers roamed her body, that soft touch full of warmth and tender passion. She bit her lip in anticipation as her mind filled with feelings of him feeling her clit and how wonderful it felt to have him inside her. It was a feeling of complete fulfillment.
Without realizing what she was doing, her hands started to massage her breasts. Pinching, pulling, and even twisting her nipples. She loved the feeling of having them pinched, it was dirty but oh so erotic. She opened her eyes and sighed as she figured out what she was doing. She wondered if just maybe this one time, she’d be able to get herself off by herself. Yet she doubted it and ceased her assault of her own body.

Alex was sitting outside on the front steps when Dianne finally got up the courage to face the world outside. There were no words that would ever come out of his mouth that would ever forgive him of what had transpired a few hours earlier.
“Dianne…” He started to say something but the look in her face was enough for him to stop.
“Alex, you can’t say anything that will forgive you. Nor can I say anything to sooth you about your own feelings. What you and Cam did last night, on my own bed, was unforgivable. I will always feel the betrayal you two made each time I look at it. I will always hear the sounds you both made. I will always remember how I felt last night. What you have done is nothing compared to what I ever did to you.” She started to walk away.
She only made it halfway down the path to her car when she heard him say, “I loved you. You broke my heart. All I ever wanted was you but you hurt me. I’m sorry I hurt you. I understand you’ll never forgive me but I’ll never forgive you either. You know what today was?”
“No.” What was today?
He sighed. “Today was the day I had originally planned to ask you to marry me. A long time ago back before we started dating, today was the day I first saw you. Your hair was brown then.” He stopped and reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. “Funny, isn’t it? I still carry it around with me.”
“Alex, you and I aren’t right for each other.”
“Yeah, I figured that out. I’m not sorry that we broke up, maybe it was for the best but I can’t help my own feelings.”
“I know.”
