**Introduction**
Debbie posted her first classified ad when she was a thirty-one year's old. Debbie was a light skinned mixed raced woman. At the time she was: five foot eight, her hair was dyed black, she had a long oblong shaped face, a long nose and a high forehead. The bridge of her nose was skinny while the bottom was wide and hooked. It was difficult to miss her intense dark eyes and dark eyebrows.
When she smiled her high cheekbones became visible. She had a skinny upper lip with a luscious lower lip. Her C-Cupped breasts were on the outside of her chest. She was frustrated her hips and backside were growing despite working out and eating well. She had strong legs and small girl muscles on her arms.
Her dark eyes never lied. When she was angry they could bring the toughest of men into submission. When she was frustrated they showed how irritated she was. When she cared about someone they shined the feelings she felt toward the person. No matter what she was feeling her eyes showed wisdom and life experience.
She was an adaptable person. This being stated she would never sell out. What she said is what she meant. She abhorred: lying, nonsense, immaturity, and arrogance. She admired: confidence, truthfulness, wisdom, and patience. She disliked: clutter, believed in being organized, and hated to be caught off guard. She was able to stand up for herself while maintaining a feminine quality.
**Heartbreak**
She was twenty-six years old when she helped Harmony move in with her husband Shawn. Four months later Isiah stepped into the store she managed. She immediately focused on this tall handsome black man. He was twenty-nine, six foot four, muscular, and was a gentleman. She made sure she was the one who fitted him for his police uniform. They hit it off immediately. He found himself telling her his life story.
He moved from Chicago believing it would be better for his two daughters to live in this Northern Midwestern Metropolitan City. He purchased a duplex. He moved his Mother into the bottom floor. Isiah and his two daughters lived on the top floor. Debbie was the first woman he asked out since his divorce and being awarded custody of his two girls. He was the first customer she ever accepted a date from.
Nine months later they were married. For two and a half years she was a wife and step mother. It was obvious to everyone Isiah and Debbie were destined to be together forever. She loved her Step-Daughters as if they were her own and they responded in kind.
Her heart was torn apart when Isiah's supervisor and police partner stepped into the store. They informed Debbie that her Husband had been killed in the line of duty.
A year later she was crushed when she lost custody of her two Step-Daughters. The memory of them clinging to her for dear life was forever etched in her mind. Debbie tried to be brave and encourage them. This ended when the mother grabbed them, called Debbie spiteful names, and dragged these two girls out of court.
Debbie yelled at the judge and was almost arrested. Tamika, Harmony, Debbie's Mother, and Debbie's Mother-in-law managed to lead Debbie out of the courtroom.
Once in the hallway Debbie fell into a bench and wept bitterly. It was Harmony and her Mother-in-law who spoke the words Debbie needed to stand up. Isiah's Mother-in-law and herself hugged for a long time. This gave Debbie the strength to walk out of the courthouse.
Two weeks later Isiah's family and Debbie helped Debbie's Mother-in-law pack her things. She was moving back to Chicago. Just before Isiah's Mother-in-law was to leave they hugged and wept for a long time. Isiah's family invited her to Chicago. They had a place for her stay. Debbie politely refused. Debbie hugged each family member and said her goodbye.
Three months later a similar scene took place. The jury ruled in favor of the criminal who shot Isiah. The trial was a political rally. Debbie despised the media and the people cheering for the criminal. Isiah's police partner and a woman police officer led: Debbie, her Mother-in-law, and those people who supported them out of a back entrance of the courthouse. Once in the parking garage Isiah's Mother-in-law and herself hugged for a long time. Debbie hugged her Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-law.
This was the day she decided she would move back to the small Wisconsin community she grew up in.
What kept Debbie going was: her friend Harmony (who was the owner of the store Debbie managed), her Sister Tamika, her Aunt Shanice, her Uncle Ryan, their two children, her Mother, phone conversations with her Mother-in-law, and her friends at church.
Her job gave her purpose.
She was determined to give the best customer service to every officer and fire person who stepped into the store. Both a blessing and a curse was serving everyone who knew what happened to her deceased husband. This was the motivation she needed to open her own uniform store once she moved back to Wisconsin.
After the murder trial she found sexual exploration something to look forward too. The least thing she wanted was for anyone she knew, or anyone associated with the store, to know she was exploring sexually.
