At last the school summer term was over and I could begin to settle down. It had been a hectic few months, my divorce was final, my house purchase complete and I had finally moved in. Not that the divorce had been too difficult, once the children had moved on my wife, Ex-wife I suppose now, and I had realised that we had drifted apart. Both of us were at fault and we had decided to split, all very amicably and we'd continued to live together, even have sex occasionally until the house was sold.
Of course moving house is usually traumatic and so it had been, not aided by the fact that we were buying two houses and selling one, so everything became twice as complicated. But finally it had all been sorted and we'd gone through the old house putting stickers on which furniture each of us wanted to take. The furniture shop got a huge order for the bits we couldn't have and then the removers had come and worked their magic.
They left, replete with tea and coffee and a large tip and I looked around taking in my new surroundings. I'd bought part of a barn conversion, an old farm structure that some years earlier had been converted into four houses and I had one of the end ones. It suited me down to the ground, I liked living in the countryside and there was a nice communal garden that was looked after by a gardener, and all around me were fields.
I hadn't met all my new neighbours yet, I'd briefly waved at one of them when the removers were working, immediately next to me I'd seen a woman of about my own age rushing off in her car. I thought I'd seen a nurse's uniform but I could have been mistaken. Next to her was an older couple, she'd come round the day of the move to introduce herself and to see if I needed anything which was kind. And finally, I was told the other end was occupied by a young couple both working, who were currently away on holiday.
Now I had six weeks to settle in and make the place feel like my home. I'd miss the company of my wife of course, and we'd both sort of agreed to stay clear of each other for a while, it would have been too easy to fall back into old habits and we both wanted a fresh start. I'd miss the sex and I knew she would as well, so my right hand would have to suffice until.....well until I met someone else. Not that I was going to be looking, I planned on having a nice leisurely summer.
One thing I was going to miss was my annual sun-seeking holiday. My wife and I would always go away for the first two weeks of the summer holidays and just chill out round a pool, or a beach and most definitely a bar. This year because of the disruption neither of us had booked and so I was hoping that the fickle English summer would turn out to be a good one and I could lounge around and get a reasonable tan. My only concern was the communal garden, somehow it wouldn't seem right to be sunbathing in that, I didn't have a bad body, but suppose a neighbour had family over and there was I, looking like a pale beached whale a few yards from them. I would have to sort something out, perhaps even venture out to a beach, although the nearest ones were notoriously crowded and parking was always a nightmare.
So when I woke and saw the brightness through the curtains I resolved to do something about it. My right hand found my cock and stroked it into something approaching hardness as it slid up and down. I'd not managed to empty my balls for a couple of days due to the move and I felt ready for a good wank. But somehow it wouldn't come. With increasing desperation I rubbed away, my mind digging deep into the old wank bank but I just couldn't get to that final stage. Porn would have helped, but the Wi-Fi wasn't going to be operative for a day or so that was out. In the end I gave up and grumpily went to have a shower.
I made some breakfast and looked at the clock, just after half nine, and the sun was shining brightly, already the warmth was beginning to make itself felt. I decided to explore a bit, first of all my garden, well our garden. I went outside and surveyed it, taking in the reasonable size, about seventy yards square, mostly laid to grass with a few mature trees. There were a few flower beds scattered around and I recalled my older neighbour saying that she and her husband looked after those, they had been keen gardeners and in retirement now wanted to maintain their hobby.
I wandered over and peered at the beds, filled with a variety of plants and I had to admit, they looked very nice. The whole area was surrounded by a hedge varying in height from four to six feet, all neatly trimmed by the gardener. I toured the boundary, peering over at the fields which were mostly planted up with what looked like wheat. There was the usual margin, a lot of which was overgrown with brambles and nettles, but just in one corner it looked half maintained. It was clear of all the undergrowth and the grass looked to have been chopped down with a strimmer or brush cutter to ankle height. Some of it had been flattened as though someone had been there recently. I looked back at the house and couldn't see much of it, there were some mature fruit trees in the way.
My brain churned and I realised that perhaps this would be an ideal place to do my sunbathing, over the hedge. I was sure the farmer would not object and I would be well out of sight of my neighbours. My mind made up, I returned to the house, determined to try out my discovery as soon as possible. I had a few things to do, a bit of unpacking still and sorting out what had gone into the wrong places, but a few hours fixed that and with the sun still shining brightly decided that now was the time to begin my staycation.
I changed into my swimshorts, mostly for comfort, grabbed a beach towel and my sun cream and headed out for the back garden. There was a gap in the hedge and I slipped through easily to find a nice secluded spot where I laid my towel out. It was a bit small and I was a little worried about tick bites, but I knew the sun cream had insect repellent in it as well and put my trust in that. I covered myself liberally in the cream, well actually it was a spray on, and then performed the contortions to try to get as even a covering on my back as possible.
Finally I lay back and closed my eyes and tried to let go, to let all the stresses and strains of the past few months fade away. I could hear birds singing, insects buzzing and only in the distance the low drone of passing traffic. My mind wandered and I began to feel much more relaxed, my muscles losing their tension and I drifted off to sleep.
I woke with a start, not understanding where I was, but then it all came back to me and I looked at the time. Well past lunch and my stomach had that empty feel, so I reluctantly packed up my few things and headed back to my house. A sandwich chased down with a glass of beer, well I was on holiday, and then I was headed back to my haven of tranquillity. This time I was armed with my earbuds and Kindle and intended to settle in for the afternoon.
I got myself comfortable and listened to some music, but that blocked out the sounds of the natural world and I took the buds out and just read. It was a good story, but I found myself having to re-read passages and I was having difficulty concentrating and I kept dropping the Kindle. Eventually I gave in and accepted that what I wanted was a nap, so put it down and closed my eyes.
"I see you've found my secret sunbathing spot."
