The trip to Japan had been very beneficial. For myself and for the Agency. Unfortunately, it had also left me falling behind on work. Which is why I was still sitting at my desk, working, while everyone else was off enjoying their evenings. I sighed deeply as I realized if I weren't here, I'd be home alone.
Marty and Kara were together. Connor and Ayelet had begun planning their wedding. Mark had his own family now. Brad had one since college. I broke away from the script I was reading and leaned back against my chair. I thought about all of the beautiful women that I had come across since I had come back to L.A. I was having a wonderful time, more than wonderful if I were to be honest. I couldn't help but admit that I missed having someone to come home to.
"Duncan?" I heard my name followed by a knock at my door. Naomi Scott, who recently played Kimberly in the Power Rangers film was there.
"Yeah? Naomi. What are you doing here?" I asked standing to greet her.
"We spoke to your assistant. We wanted to set up a meeting with you, she told us that you were probably still here." She explained taking a step inside my office.
"We?" I asked.
"Yes! I'm here too." Becky G, who had been the yellow ranger in that film, entered the office. I was a little surprised to see them there. We had signed them a few months back, along with the rest of the cast.
"What can I help you with?" I asked as I noticed Naomi's tight jeans and white top. Her long dark hair cascaded down to her back, framing a very beautiful face. Her lips and big brown eyes were definitely eye catching.
"We were at Naomi's place and checking out the box office reports." Becky took over as they took seats in my office. Becky was shorter than Naomi but her curves could not be denied. She was currently wearing the yoga pants that were all the rage, and a simple blue top. Even with the simple attire she was still incredibly alluring. Her dark hair was held in a tight ponytail, allowing an unencumbered view of her beauty.
"And we're very worried about the possibilities for a sequel." Naomi said pulling my attention away from Becky. Her accent sometimes would sneak up on me. I constantly forgot she was British. She was of course right. Although Power Rangers had been received okay, the box office was very worrying for the studio that wanted to turn it into its next mega franchise.
"Yes, it's not looking great. We were hoping that it would make up ground in Asia, but it hasn't been the case so far." I answered honestly.
"So is that it?" Becky asked seeming dejected.
"Not necessarily. If toy and merchandise sells are good that might prove to the studio that the franchise has a future."
"What if it doesn't?" Naomi questioned. I could see she wanted to stay strong but she was worried about her career.
"Well then we move on. We've been thinking about your careers since before we signed you. You were already shooting the movie then, so we prepared for both possibilities of the film either being a hit or miss."
"You have?" Becky asked perking up.
"We've been working on a new record deal for you Becky. If you're interested, we can get you back in the studio by the end of the month." I told her causing a wide smile from her. I loved the gap in her teeth. It made her stand out and she looked marvelous whenever she smiled.
"I'd love that." She finally said.
"Naomi, there are a few projects I think you would be great for. Have you guys eaten?" I asked as I stood from my chair. They both shook their heads. I picked up the phone and called down to Brad's restaurant.
"Hey." He picked up jovially after the second ring.
"Hey, you got room in the restaurant for three?" I asked him.
"For you always. You know that. You coming down now?"
"Yeah. Be there in a few minutes." I thanked him before hanging up. "My friend Brad owns a restaurant downstairs." I told the women as I opened a drawer in my desk and pulled out the scripts I had set aside for Naomi.
"Yes!" Naomi said excited. "I've been trying to get a table there forever." She admitted."
"Well there's a table for us. If you'd like we can go have dinner and talk about all of this." I proposed, pleased with the quickness of their excited responses. I followed the girls towards the elevator, taking the chance to view their behinds. Naomi's butt was firm and looked absolutely bitable in the tight jeans she wore. Meanwhile Becky's perky butt cheeks were bouncing with every step in the yoga pants.
"I hope we're not under dressed." Becky said feeling self-conscious for the first time.
"Becky you both are so gorgeous, any self-respecting restaurant would change their dress code just to have the two of you eat there." I told them as I pressed the elevator button. Naomi blushed profusely, while Becky smiled widely. The elevator wasn't small by any measure, yet the two women found themselves standing very close to me. Their distinct aromas flaring up my senses and making me crave to do more than just look.
"Hey Samantha." I said to the hostess once we had arrived.
"Duncan! How are you?" She smiled widely before kissing me on the cheek.
"Busy as usual. This is Naomi Scott and Becky G." I introduced my dinner mates.
"Of course. You guys were great in Power Rangers. I took my niece and nephew to see it and they absolutely loved it." Samantha said bringing thanks and a few more blushes from Naomi. "This way to your table." She said as she grabbed menus and guided us to my usual table towards the back.
After ordering the food, the girls and I began discussing their careers. Becky wanted to make a brand new pop album that carried some of the beats and movements from her Latin heritage. Naomi meanwhile wasn't really sure what she wanted to do. She just wanted to keep working. I quickly realized what was going on with her. When Becky excused herself to take a call, I took the opportunity.
"Naomi, you're very talented." I told her looking her straight in her brown eyes.
"Thank you Duncan." She said blushing profusely.
"You have a place in this business. Me knowing that will only get you so far. You have to know it." I told her refusing to break contact even if she tried to shift her head. I held her chin and turned her back towards me. "I know what you're feeling. The doubts, the idea that maybe you're not good enough. It's good to a point. It means that whatever project you do, you will throw yourself into it as though it were the last one you'd ever do. But you'll only be able to go as far as I know you can, if you trust yourself and push your talent." I told her without ever letting up and making sure the sincerity shone through.
"How... how did you know?" She almost whispered.
