Spiderman stood atop the Chrysler Building, using his high-tech watch to peep in on various police scanners going off all over New York City. The red-and-blue clad superhero was having one of those days. Life as Peter Parker could be hectic. Peter Parker was a loner at NYU after recent events destroyed his personal life and what was left of his family. Spiderman provides Peter Parker with an escape from his problems. Spiderman gets to fight crime, while Peter Parker gets to stop moping while fighting crime. It's a win-win situation. As Spiderman mused on that, a golden energy square appeared and a masked man in a dark costumed stepped through.

"I am Batman, I come from another universe, where I protect New York City, which is known as Gotham in my world, and I am here to train you," said the Caped Crusader. For some reason, the masked stranger assumed a fighting stance. Spiderman looked at the masked and costumed man with the dark cape and frowned. Who the fuck was that? What's with the weirdly deep voice? This dude sounded confident in an almost Tony Stark kind of way but he was way too full of himself. If this was a Joke by the Avengers, especially that clown Falcon and his buddy the Winter Soldier, then Peter Park wasn't amused.

"Nice costume, dude, but I've got to get going," Spiderman said, shaking his head. He dove off the top of the Chrysler Building and unleashed his web with the characteristic hissing sound. Spiderman swung on the web, headed for midtown. Within seconds he was there, traveling across NYC like only he could. It had been two years since the MCU Spiderman met the Original Spiderman and the Amazing Spiderman. The two of them helped the MCU Spiderman defeat and then rehabilitate villains like Electro, Dr. Octopus and the Green Goblin before sending them back to their respective universes.

Spiderman lost his beloved Aunt May, and his good friends Ned and M.J. no longer remembered who he was thanks to Dr. Strange's magic spells. Peter Parker was all alone in the world. What does the young man do when he's not taking classes at NYU? Spiderman fights crime on the streets of New York City. The Avengers no longer work with Spiderman now that his mentor Tony Stark is dead and no longer around to clean up his messes. The dynamic duo of Iron Man and MCU Spiderman is no more.

"Hmm, crime," Spiderman thought as he spotted a van being chased by two NYPD squad cars. The van was being driven by a masked woman. A masked man shot at the cops from the passengers side window. Spiderman considered himself above petty crimes like this but a hero must respond whenever and wherever needed. Spiderman swung down and went after the van. Perhaps stopping the van. He guessed that they were bank robbers or something along those lines. Otherwise they picked a really ugly and old van to steal.

"Idiot," Batman thought as he leapt into action. Spiderman was headed into trouble. Just like the TVA predicted. Swinging on a two-hundred-foot, retractable metallic rope, he leapt through the skies of NYC, which looked exactly like Gotham. When the Time Variance Authority came to the DCEU and explained the situation, Batman was not amused. He'd been retired from crime for a while, having stopped Bane and Talia Al Ghul from destroying Gotham City. In his guise as Bruce Wayne, former billionaire, he was enjoying retirement in Florence, Italy, with his lover Selina Kyle, the former Cat Woman.

"Do this mission and come back to me, my love," Selina Kyle said to Bruce Wayne. Properly suited in his Batman costume, Bruce kissed Selina tenderly. Hunter B-15, newly installed as the Boss Lady of the Time Variance Authority, watched them in silence. The tall, square black woman reminded Batman of a certain U.S. government agent but Hunter B-15 was professional and courteous while spy master Amanda Waller was cold and sociopathic. Selina playfully smacked Bruce's butt as he headed for the TVA Transport.

"Hold down the fort, Selina," Bruce Wayne said, then he put on his mask and faced Hunter B-15. The Christopher Nolan Universe's Batman stepped through the TVA Transport and crossed into another universe. This version of Bruce Wayne had been happily retired in Florence, Italy, when the TVA came calling. Hunter B-15 and her uniformed, Prune-happy minions gave him the rundown about the state of the multiverse. There was always a crisis or two happening, mainly thanks to some superheroes meddling where they shouldn't. Oh, and by meddling superheroes, they meant a certain speedster...

The TVA told Batman about the MCU. They also informed him about the crises faced by various versions of Batman across the multiverse, thanks to the damn Flash. The Tim Burton Universe's Batman fought against a Kryptonian invasion with the help of two versions of The Flash and an untested Supergirl. It didn't end well. As for the DCEU version of Batman, he was trying to prepare his version of the Justice League, mainly Superman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman and the reluctant Martian Manhunter, to face Darkseid, evil god from the Planet Apocalypse, and his galactic Armada of Parademons.

"Once your mission is complete, we shall return you to your universe, Batman," said Hunter B-15. That's how the Batman from the Christopher Nolan Universe ended up in the MCU. He dove through the streets of the familiar-yet-different NYC as he chased Spiderman, who chased the van full of gun-toting goons. Spiderman caught up with the ban. In a display of superhuman strength, Spiderman caught the van in his web, flipped it and then laid it upside down. With the deed done, he walked up to the driver's side door.

"Thank you for choosing vigilantes anonymous," Spiderman said as he ripped off the driver's side door. The masked gunwoman at the wheel was unconscious. Spiderman took her out of the van and tossed aside her gun. He looked for the goon who had been shooting at the cops. The NYPD squad cars were close. Spiderman hoped that he could get the goon for them. He loved posing for pictures with cops and other law enforcement types. NYC loves superheroes. The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and various others all lived in NYC. Good times.

"Die, Spiderman," said the masked, armed goon as he aimed his shotgun at Spiderman. The young superhero gasped in surprise. His spider sense should have gone off but it hadn't. Peter Parker had been out of sorts since Aunt May died and both Ned and Michelle Jones aka M.J. magically forgot who he was. The young man was troubled and now, thanks to those distractions, he was about to die. Even Spiderman's enhanced strength and speed didn't make him bulletproof. The red and blue suit he wore was simple silk instead of the mechanical, bulletproof armor that Tony Stark once gifted him.

"Rookie," Batman said as he knocked out the masked gunman with a single punch. The Caped Crusader caught the man's gun before it could clatter to the ground. Spiderman looked at Batman, immeasurably impressed. Batman looked at the younger superhero. The TVA briefed the Christopher Nolan Universe Batman about the special abilities of many men and women in these different worlds of the multiverse but there was no excuse for carelessness. Super powered or not, Spiderman was sloppy and Batman hates sloppy...

"Freeze," said NYPD patrol supervisor George Stacy as he and his fellow officers stepped out of their squad cars and surrounded the overturned van. Spiderman stood there, and gently waved at the officers. There was someone else with Spiderman. A tall man in a sinister black costume and mask, with a dark cape. What was this fool doing dressed like this in broad daylight? Was he a villain? If so, why hadn't Spiderman decked the masked fool and webbed him up for the cops to arrest? That was usually the deal between Spiderman and the NYPD.

"Officer Stacy, hello, thanks for coming, my colleague and I got this," Spiderman said, laughing. The cops holstered their guns but continued to look dubiously at Batman. Batman looked at Spiderman and scowled. The young man in the red and blue costume appeared to be in his early twenties, college-age, and jovial, and way too carless when it came to using his super powers. Spiderman was known to the NYPD who evidently tolerated his vigilantism. Yeah, Batman had his work cut out for him.

"We need to talk, Spiderman," Batman said, and he then swung away on a piece of metallic rope which shot out of his armored wrist. Spiderman and the NYPD officers exchanged a puzzled look. As the cops grabbed the unconscious suspects, Spiderman took off after the masked, costumed intruder. The two of them met up atop the Holloway Building. Spiderman faced Batman. The dark-costumed fellow didn't trigger Spiderman's danger sense but he was way too intense. Spiderman scratched the back of his head. Alright, time for some answers. What was this fellow's deal?

"What do you want from me?" Spiderman asked, and The Batman almost smiled. Spiderman reminded Batman of Richard Robin Grayson, the young Gotham cop who helped him fight against Bane and his thugs during the Siege of Gotham. Spiderman was a decent guy and meant well. Of course, youthful exuberance and raw power were no match for skill, experience, strategy and wisdom. Batman recalled his failings against Ra's Al-Ghul during the events of Batman Begins. He was a rookie once, but he learned from his mistakes, overcame his enemies and saved his city.

"As I said, I am Batman, I protect NYC, which is known as Gotham City in my world, your Time Variance Authority said you need my help," said The Batman. Spiderman frowned. He'd heard about the TVA from Dr. Strange. They were a secret organization which protected the Sacred Timeline. All roads lead to the MCU and all that stuff. Why would they send a superhero from another universe to help Spiderman? The MCU Spiderman already got helped by the Tobey-Verse Spiderman and the Garfield-Verse Spiderman.

"Cool," Spiderman said, and as he tried to wrap his head around what Batman was saying, he sensed something wrong. His spider sense went off. Batman stiffened. He sensed it too. There was a ripple in the air, and out of that ripple came something absolutely horrifying. Out of the portal it came. A tall, dark-red humanoid form with skin that seemed to be...mobile. Batman readied a Batarang and Spiderman readied his web. Both heroes sensed something evil emanating from the figure that stepped through the portal.

"I am Cletus Kasady, but you may call me Carnage," said the dark-red monstrosity. Glaring at Spiderman and Batman, Carnage let out a horrifying roar. This version of Carnage isn't the one who fought against Eddie Brock and Venom alongside the sexy villainess Frances Barrison, also known as Shriek. Nope, this version of Carnage came from Earth 1170. He killed and devoured both Eddie Brock and Venom, and also murdered attorney Anne Weying, Eddie Brock's former fiancΓ©e, and her lover Dr. Dan Lewis, and Mrs. Chen of course.

"What do you want?" Spiderman demanded. As Spiderman looked at Carnage, he felt an instinctive revulsion. Carnage was connected to Spiderman somehow and he sensed that it was not good at all. This thing was evil and it disgusted Spiderman to his very core. The Batman looked at Spiderman as he faced Carnage. Yeah, there were some definite similarities between Spiderman and this Carnage fellow. The Batman wondered if Carnage's costume was bio-mechanical, or something else altogether. The heroes and villains of the MCU had amazing powers, but Batman knows everyone has a weakness.

"I am here to conquer the MCU as I've done with my version of Earth," Carnage declared. Spiderman shuddered, disturbed by the very thought of a world where this evil thing ruled. Carnage sensed Spiderman's discomfort and laughed. Yeah, Spiderman reminded Carnage of Venom. Another do-gooder in a costume. Earth 1170 was overrun with sentient symbiotes from Venom and Carnage's former home-world. Having grown bored of a Planet Earth where enslaved humans worship his kind, Carnage came through the portal, in search of adventure. Hell yeah, let there be carnage.

"The MCU isn't yours to conquer," said The Batman, and he hurled a Batarang at Carnage. Laughing like a maniac, Carnage blocked it with his web, which was something akin to that of Spiderman. Exploding into action, Spiderman swung on his web and kicked Carnage in the face. Carnage grabbed Spiderman's foot and then tossed the superhero away like a rag doll. Spiderman collided with The Batman, and the two superheroes collapsed in a heap of limbs.

"I will finish you off later, you insignificant dolts, for now I must explore this new world," said Carnage. Just like that, Cletus Kasady, former death row inmate, enemy of Venom, and host of the amazingly powerful red symbiote known as Carnage, took off. He leapt a hundred feet into the air and swung away on bio-webs generated by his own symbiote. Unlike the MCU Spiderman, Carnage could never run out of web fluid. In that regard, Carnage was disturbingly similar to the Tobey-Verse Spiderman. Imagine that...

"We must stop this monster," Spiderman said as he helped The Batman get to his feet. The Batman nodded, and then looked at Spiderman. After a long moment, he took off his mask. Peter Parker frowned. Underneath his mask, The Batman was a handsome, forty-something man with pale skin, dark hair and blue eyes. In fact, he reminded Peter Parker of that actor, Christian Bale, from the American Psycho movie. Christian Bale lost out on the Owl Man role to some guy named Keaton. Oh well...

"I am Bruce Wayne, if we are going to work together to bring down Carnage, we will need to trust each other," said the man. Spiderman looked at Bruce Wayne and hesitated. This fellow had no super powers but he was smart, fit, strong and could handle himself. He was also good with technology. In many ways, The Batman, or Bruce Wayne, reminded Peter Parker of Tony Stark, the late, great Iron Man. The man who saved the MCU from Thanos and his alien army. Spiderman was outmatched by Carnage, but perhaps Bruce Wayne could help him bring down the monster...

"I am Peter Parker," said Spiderman as he took off his mask. Bruce Wayne shook hands with Peter Parker. The red and blue clad superhero was even younger than Bruce thought. He was barely twenty. First or second year of college or university at best. Bruce Wayne looked into Peter Parker's eyes. The young man came off as jovial and kind of a funny prankster type but his eyes were those of a warrior, one who had been through a lot. Bruce knew the type. He was the type...

"Good to meet you, Peter, now, please show me NYC, it looks like my Gotham but there are major differences," said Bruce Wayne. Spiderman smiled and nodded. The two superheroes changed into their civilian costumes. They left the rooftop and came down the elevator. A tall, handsome middle-aged man in a blue T-shirt and black jeans walked out with a twenty-something young man in a gray hoodie and black sweatpants. Just Batman from the Christopher Nolan Universe and the MCU Spiderman walking around in their civilian clothes, folks.

"The heroes have met and the gauntlet is thrown," said Hunter B-15, observing Spiderman and Batman from the TVA Observatory. The tall, square black woman watched the heroes as they walked through the streets of NYC. Everything was going according to plan. Recently, Deadpool went across the multiverse to find a new version of Wolverine, and they ended up defeating both Paradox the time ripper and Cassandra Nova, the evil female Mutant who ruled the Void. Thus, Wolverine and old-school heroes like Blade the Day Walker, Elektra the assassin, X-23 and Gambit of the X-Men were restored to the MCU.

"Dr. Doom is coming and he has taken over the mind and body of an alternate version of Tony Stark, Spiderman's mentor, the dude is going to need Batman's help to save the MCU and the Avengers," said Kang the Conqueror. Hunter B-15 smiled at Kang the Conqueror, founder of the Time Variance Authority. The stocky, muscular black man in the futuristic battle-suit smiled at the female TVA leader. Kang has been MIA since his mirror world alter ego had some legal trouble and fell from grace, but everyone always returns in Marvel. Just ask the viewers who were shocked to see Blade back in action alongside Wolverine, Deadpool and Gambit. The MCU is in danger. Spiderman needs a mentor to prepare him to fight ultimate evil. Sounds like a job for The Batman...
