"Preparation and strategy can defeat any super power and any number of opponents," said The Batman. The masked vigilante stood atop the Bradbury Building in midtown Manhattan, a section of NYC which reminded him of Gotham's Uptown. Standing beside Batman, Spiderman nodded, carefully filing away his new mentor's edicts. The two men watched the streets below. New York City never sleeps, whether it's the MCU's NYC or the DC Universe's Gotham City. On that, the two Multiversal heroes could agree...

"Amen to that," Spiderman replied. The younger hero was astonished by how well The Batman had adjusted to the MCU. The TVA brought The Batman's tools through the multiversal portal, including the Tumbler, a whole line of Bat Suits and tons of Bat Gadgets. In his world, Bruce Wayne was a billionaire, although his company, Wayne Enterprises was on the mend after Talia Al-Ghul and Bane sabotaged them from within. As far as Spiderman was concerned, Batman had tech that would have made Tony Stark jealous if he still lived.

"Here they come," Batman said, his voice gruff and muffled. Spiderman nodded. Finally, it was game time. A few weeks ago, Carnage, enemy of Spiderman's multiversal rival Venom, came through a portal and into the MCU. Cletus Kasady, Carnage's host, was a serial killer and he saw no reason to change his ways in the MCU. Spiderman was amazed when Batman deduced Carnage's weakness and used a sonic weapon to bring him down. Carnage was now in TVA custody. How cool was that?

"Game on," Spiderman said, and just as he and Batman rehearsed, he went after the criminals. Kraven the Hunter went into the NYC office of S.H.I.E.L.D.S. and stole something that didn't belong to him. A piece of multiversal technology that could amplify Kraven the Hunter's already peak abilities to an unimaginable level. No way Spiderman and Batman could allow Kraven the Hunter to alter the game at this level. Super criminals were a dime a dozen in the MCU but Kraven was a piece of work. If Kraven became as strong as the Hulk, the world was in trouble.

"Puny fools," said Kraven the Hunter. Storming out of the office, he faced off against a group of NYPD officers. The cops ordered Kraven to drop his bags full of stolen tech and put his hands on his head. The clawed, fanged and downright feral villain roared and then attacked the cops. A tall blonde policewoman fired at Kraven and he easily dodged her bullets before knocking her out with a single punch. A black male officer jumped in and Kraven broke the man's arm before tossing him at his own squad car.

"Phase one, initiated," said the Batman. The Caped Crusader watched as Spiderman leapt into action. The red and blue superhero unleashed his web, snatching the unconscious police officers and dragging them away from danger. The Batman smiled. Spiderman was following his instructions to the letter, rescuing the innocent prior to engaging with the criminal element. Kraven the Hunter snarled like an angry tiger as Spiderman took away his quarry. The tall, dark-haired, buff and muscular super criminal leapt into the air, fangs bared and claws extended. Kraven the Hunter was going after Spiderman with all of his might...

"Phase two initiated," Spiderman said as he dodged Kraven's attack. Kraven the Hunter landed where Spiderman had been a fraction of a second ago. The super criminal got ready to leap after the Web Slinger, but he didn't get the chance. Batman's heavy boot crashed into Kraven's face, sending the Hunter tumbling down. Before Kraven the Hunter hit the ground, Batman struck him a dozen times with his armored fists. Kraven grunted as he struck the ground, barely conscious. The super criminal looked at the black-clad figure in the scary mask and dark cape. Kraven the Hunter knew most of NYC's vigilantes and superheroes. This one was a stranger.

"Who the hell are you?" Kraven demanded as The Batman stood over him. The Batman knocked Kraven out, sending the feral super criminal to dreamland. Spiderman, having seen to the officers safety, returned to the Batman's side. The Batman secured Kraven the Hunter with steel manacles that could have held even a super-strong brute like Bane, who was in the same strength class as Kraven. After securing the villain, Batman looked at Spiderman. The younger man's face was masked but his demeanor indicated excitement, and a need for a pat on the back. Batman's almost permanent scowl turned into a smirk.

"Good job, Spiderman," Batman said, and Spiderman's spirits soared. A few more NYPD squad cars arrived. Batman decided to let Spiderman do the talking. In Gotham City, Batman had an understanding with the Gotham Police, especially his old friend Commissioner James Gordon. In the MCU's NYC, however, Batman was an unknown quantity to law enforcement. It would take them some time to get used to Batman and his methods. The whole Multiversal politics thing bugged Batman at times, but wherever he happened to be, he was the enemy of crime and evil. In the DC Universe's Gotham City and in the MCU's NYC, Batman fights evil...

"All this ruckus, it must be Spiderman and his sidekick Batman," said NYPD patrol supervisor George Stacy. The veteran cop shook hands with Spiderman and looked at the Batman. After a brief hesitation, George Stacy held out his hand and the Batman shook it. Spiderman watched them, seemingly jovial as usual. The other officers on the scene helped their colleagues, officer Nathan Jones and officer Jessica Winters, back to their feet, now that they had regained consciousness. Kraven the Hunter was slowly coming to, handcuffed in the back of a police car.

"Yeah, Batman is an amazing sidekick, I am teaching him a lot of things," Spiderman said to George Stacy, and the veteran cop frowned. The Batman seemed like a seasoned crime fighter to George Stacy, and the gruff-sounding vigilante was clearly older than Spiderman, even though both superheroes wore masks. The Batman clapped Spiderman on the back, briefly bristling upon hearing the word sidekick. George Stacy smiled. Yeah, the Batman was totally mentoring Spiderman, and the younger dude was getting on the seasoned veteran's nerves. As a cop, George Stacy has trained enough rookies to know. Batman's long-suffering look told him everything he needed to know. Spiderman is a blabbermouth...

"Ever consider having a Spiderman Signal that the NYPD could flash in the sky to summon you when they need help with super villains?" said the Batman. Spiderman scratched the back of his head and NYPD patrol supervisor George Stacy actually laughed out loud. The NYPD might call the Avengers, the Fantastic Four ( newly minted with Pedro Pascal ) or even the X-Men ( they're in the MCU thanks to Wolverine and Deadpool ) for help but Spiderman was not top tier. As far as Stacy was concerned, Spiderman was a frat boy with super powers who was occasionally useful. Nothing more.

"Nah, when things get really dicey, a whole team is needed, but we appreciate your help, gentlemen," said George Stacy. The police supervisor went to check on his fellow officers, then had a few words with Kraven the Hunter. The Hunter cursed the cops, and glared murderously at Spiderman and Batman. Kraven the Hunter sniffed the air. With his superhuman senses, Kraven would definitely remember Spiderman and Batman's scents. One way or another, Kraven the Hunter would get free and seek revenge upon NYC's superhero duo...

"When I get out, I'll kill you, Spiderman, and I'll make the Batman watch before I kill him too," snarled Kraven the Hunter. Spiderman casually flipped the captive super villain the bird, and Batman smiled. In the Christopher Nolan version of the DC Universe, the criminals didn't have super powers, unless steroid-rage Bane counted, but they sounded just as dubious as the MCU villains. They always made threats to the heroes when captured. If they spent more time strategizing instead of jawing, the villains would win more often.

"Let's go," Batman said, and Spiderman nodded. The two superheroes took off into the night. The NYPD was taking Kraven the Hunter to a super prison known as the Raft, located on Ryker's Island, which was known as Black Gate Prison in the DC Universe. Batman and Spiderman returned to their base of operations, Aunt May Parker's condo, which Peter Parker inherited after she died at the hands of Norman Osborne, the Tobey-Verse Green Goblin. Spiderman looked forward to taking a shower and getting a good night's sleep. He had midterms the next day at NYU. Still, Spiderman knew that Batman needed to debrief him.

"Let me have it," Peter Parker said as he took off his mask. Batman did the same, becoming Bruce Wayne once more. after a night of crime fighting, Bruce was ready to go home too. No, he wasn't thinking about the loft that he rented in Soho after obtaining some funds sent to him via the TVA by Selina Kyle, his beloved Cat Woman. Bruce wanted to get back to the Christopher Nolan DC Universe, where super powers aren't a thing. Still, as the Batman, he had to prepare Spiderman to face Multiversal threats, so that's that...

"You did well tonight, but we need to step up your training, Dr. Doom is still coming according to the TVA," said Bruce. Peter Parker nodded. The two men exchanged a few pleasantries, and then parted ways. Bruce Wayne returned to his loft in Soho. He'd always liked that neighborhood in the DC Universe's very own Gotham City. In the MCU, Soho isn't as chic as the Gotham City version but it was still upscale, comfy and private. Bruce Wayne appreciates the finer things in life. It comes with being the heir of the Wayne family fortune.

The Soho loft which Bruce Wayne rented in NYC was identical to one that was owned by Wayne Realty in the DC Universe. Lofts and townhouses fit for a king were quite common in Gotham City. The dΓ©cor was familiar, if somewhat different. Oh well, it's the small things that count. Bruce Wayne got home, relaxed and slept. He dreamed of Selina Kyle, the one and only Cat Woman. When Batman's business with Spiderman and the MCU is done, he would return to Selina Kyle in the DC Universe and stay retired from crime fighting this time. There are many other versions of Batman in the Multiverse, let them take up the mantle...
