Back in New York, another envelope sat waiting inside the car. I was always nervous before opening the envelope. Every envelope brought me an exciting new assignment.
As the car fought through the city traffic, I pulled out the note from Eliza and began to learn about my next client.
Joe,
I hope that you and Samantha enjoyed your time in Mexico. I'm glad that you have been able to get connected here at your knew job.
We've brought you back to New York to serve a new client of ours, Ashley Benson. She is an up and comer in Hollywood, who recently finished her run on the popular TV show Pretty Little Liars. She has transitioned now fully to cinema and will be in need of our services for the foreseeable future. We have selected to pair you with her given your similar age and experience with new clients. While you may not be always paired up together in the future, we hope that Ashley will be someone else you can add to your extensive client base.
Here is some more information about your client:
Ashley Benson
Age: 27
Height: 5'4"
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Measurements: 34-24-34
Bra Size: 34B
Sexual Experience: Moderate
As for the logistics of your assignment, the film that Ashley is in is a medium budget romance movie. Compared to other movie stars you've been with in the past, the accommodations will be smaller. The studio has bought out the top five floors of a hotel for many of their actors and production crew.
When you arrive at the hotel, make your way to the 34
th
floor. This is the floor you will be staying with Ashley on. When you exit the elevator you will be met by Security, who will check your credentials and provide you with a room key to Ashley's room.
The production company has allowed each of the actors to invite their spouses or significant other to stay with them during their two months of filming in New York. Ashley came to us because she is not currently dating someone, but would like companionship with someone for the next few months. You will be posing as her boyfriend. Generally speaking, you likely won't have much interaction with anyone else associated with the film, unless Ashley decides otherwise; however if you should, stick to the cover of being her boyfriend.
Due to the tight security at the hotel, you will have the freedom to come and go from the hotel when Ashley is at work. Paparazzi will not be able to access the floors the actors are staying on, so no one will have a clue that you are there with her.
I will also mention that along with spouses and actual significant others, I have been made aware that there are other associates from The Agency working this assignment with other clients. I do not know who exactly is on assignment, but you may end up recognizing someone in your comings and goings at the hotel. Please do not have any interactions with any other associates, or disclose any associates to Ashley. It is important that we respect the privacy of each client's use of our services.
Best of luck!
Eliza
I found it odd that Eliza, someone who I had once had a fling with, was so aware of my relationship with Samantha. Granted, my spat with Eliza a few months back seemed to cool any feelings she had for me. Nonetheless, I wasn't sure how to interpret that portion of her note.
The rest of her note was pretty clear. I had begun to get used to bringing new clients into The Agency. It appeared that I was becoming someone who could be trusted to not scare away new clients and could make them feel comfortable with the odd relationship.
I didn't know much about Ashley. A past girlfriend of mine had been big into Pretty Little Liars, so I remembered who she was, but outside of that knew very little about her. I wondered what her personality would be like and what her approach would be to our relationship.
The car pulled up to the hotel downtown and my door opened to the loud honks of New York City taxis. The hotel was a little on the older side, but still seemed fairly upscale. I went inside and headed straight for the elevators in the back. The 34
th
floor was the second to last floor, so the old elevator took some time to reach the top.
Finally, the light glowed to announce our presence on the 34
th
floor and the doors pulled open. Two large muscular men stood blocking the doorway when the elevator arrived. Each looked like offensive linemen ready to break me in half.
"Can we help you?" A voice called out from behind the two large men.
Behind the two large bodies I could barely make out a small man sitting on a stool holding a clipboard. In comparison to the muscle men, this man looked like a small child.
"I was told to come up here to get my key," I said, still unsure about whether or not I was allowed to exit the elevator without being broken in half.
"Step out," the small man said as the muscular security guards opened up just small enough of a gap for me to squeeze through, "Name and identification, please."
"Joe Williams," I said reaching into my back pocket to pull out my driver's license.
The small man took his pen and searched up and down his list multiple times before adjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose.
