Todd had just checked into his hotel and was finished unpacking. His job as a book editor was satisfying but also a little on the tedious side as well. He was here in Manhattan to try and help along the newest author sensation. He figured that while he was waiting for his lunch meeting with the writer, he would go have a cup of coffee in the hotel's diner.
He ordered his overpriced coffee, found a table outside and was engrossed in the newspaper when he was disturbed.
"Hey, would you mind if I shared the table with you. I need to grab a quick bite."
Todd didn't look up and just shot a quick okay. The news article he was reading was interesting but he could sense her as she sat down.
"Thanks. I'm sorry if I'm bugging you but you are my hero right now."
Todd couldn't help but crack a smile and pushed the paper aside to look into the gorgeous face of Patti Anne Brown. Patti Ann was the afternoon anchor of cable's Fox news and secretly one of Todd's crushes.
"Well, consider it my gift to one the most beautiful women on cable."
He caught a glimmer in her eye as he said this, and the smile she flashed back was equally warm.
"And if I may be so bold, what brings you to this fine establishment sir?" she asked.
"I'm in town to try and help a book project actually get started. I'm an editor and my newest writer is having issues on his book".
"So you're not from New York?"
"No. I live just outside of D.C.", as he said this he couldn't help but stare into her liquid blue eyes. She was dressed in a tight gray skirt that hugged her hips and left nothing to the imagination. The plum colored top was cut so that her outstanding cleavage was visible and there was a hint of a matching colored lace bra. Black opaque stockings covered legs that most dancers would kill for. For the next 30 minutes or so they both sipped coffee and enjoyed the light conversation which consisted of sharing nightmare job stories and other current events.
Finally, Patti Ann slid her chair out and stretched out her hand. As Todd grasped it, he felt a small electric charge. She smiled and her eyes almost carried a hypnotic look to them.
"Well Todd, I'm glad I met you and I hope your time here .... By the way how long are you here and where are you staying?"
"I'm here for about a week, and I'm here at this hotel. The company has put me up in room 3145 until the book is done."
"Well then Todd, I hope the book goes well and I hope that maybe before you leave town we might be able to share another cup of coffee or something else."
He noticed that as she said that her look was one his college roommates would have called a "come fuck me look".
"It was my pleasure Patti Ann and I will make sure that all my friends know how wonderful you are."
As she walked away he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to take her.
The meeting with his writer went as planned. He finished up quicker than expected and figured that since he had some free time he might as well head back to the hotel and work out in the hotel gym. Getting back he changed out of his suit and tossed on a T-shirt and a pair of shorts. He did a rotation on the weight machines and was cooling down on the treadmill watching the local satellite feed. It wouldn't have mattered to him what was on except for the fact it was Patti Ann. He again found himself wondering what she was like.
