South by Southwest is an annual event in Austin Texas bringing music, movies and art of all types, the following is fiction, I couldn't get that lucky
"Excuse me could I sit with you, I can't find another seat out here." I looked up and saw a plan looking woman with dark raven hair and a cigarette in her mouth. I nod and offer her my seat as I take the opposite her. I know her from somewhere, it will come to me, work maybe?
"Crazy night isn't it?" she asks looking for her lighter, I snap my open and offer it to her. Her cigarette catches, I nod and close the lighter.
"It really is, with all these people for South By Southwest here." She smiles slightly, she doesn't look like an Austinite, Maybe someone from Hollywood.
She says her name is Megan, I introduce myself. While we talk I can't help but noticed the too tight t-shirt, her black bra straining to keep her breasts in. "
If I play my cards right maybe...
" I think to myself. We chit chat about the weather, and what bands or movies look good this year. She tells me she's in music, I tell her I am a independent film editor and I'm here because I normally get a free badge.
Megan is very pleasant company and far too early she checks her watch, and says she needs to turn in tonight. She reaches in to her wallet to pay for her coffees, I wave her off and tell her "it's on me." She smiles a very sweet smile and thanks me, and walks out. I think that I should have asked for her number or something! I decide to call it a night and head out the door, and who is there but Megan with a phone to her ear sounding like she's fighting with someone: "I don't care what time it is, I need a car to pick me up, do you think I know how to get back on my own?" She hangs up her phone with a sound that only a frustrated woman can make.
"I could give you a ride," I offer surprised by my own courage, she turns around clearing not expecting someone to hear her. "I don't mind really, where are you staying?" She tell me, I know right where it is, a nice 5 star hotel, one of the nicest in Austin.
"I don't believe in white knights, Craig." She tells me, I smile and tell her neither do I. We get to my car, I open the door for her and then let myself in. She talks most of the way, every now and then glancing at me with a curious look. The lights are with us and within 10 minutes we are there at the Continental, I get out and open her door before the valet can open it.
"May I take your car sir?" He asks assuming we are another couple coming in. She looks at me "Hand him the keys already." I stop my jaw from dropping. I hand him the keys and follow her in.
