Let me introduce myself. My name is Jackson T. Lee, an 18 year old who just graduated high school and working at a major Hollywood studio as a production assistant intern for the summer. My parents both work in middle management at the studio and they hooked me up with this internship.
Some of my responsibilities include calling cast members and letting them know their shooting schedules for the week, delivering updated scripts, taking notes at various production meetings, and basically whatever the production manager wants me to do.
This week I happen to be helping out with pre-production of the upcoming film Wonder Woman 2. Today we're having the first table read of the script with director Patty Jenkins and several of the key cast members, including Gal Gadot, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig. When I arrived in the room, Patty, Pedro, and Kristen were already there. I introduced myself and let them know that I'm the PA intern and will be taking notes for the meeting.
We chatted casually for a few minutes and then we heard a knock on the door. It was Patty's assistant Lauren.
"Patty, Gal just called and said she's not feeling well. So she won't be able to make it today. She said you guys should go ahead and do the reading without her. She should be able to join tomorrow. She wants to know if someone can deliver the script to her hotel room later today so she can prep for tomorrow."
Patty looks at me and said, "Jackson, after you get off work today, take a copy of the script and bring it over to Gal. She's staying in the penthouse suite at the Hilton on Sunset Blvd. I'll have Lauren call the hotel to let them know you're coming."
"Sure thing, Ms. Jenkins. Leave it to me!" I answered enthusiastically.
Later that afternoon after I got off work, I took a copy of the script and drove over to the Hilton. I introduced myself at the front desk and they directed me to head up to the penthouse on the 25th floor. When I got there, I knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Someone on the other side asked.
"Hi, my name is Jackson. I'm a production assistant intern. Ms. Jenkins asked me to bring over the script for Wonder Woman 2 for Ms. Gadot."
"Oh alright. Come on in. The door is unlocked"
I opened the door and walked into a very large penthouse. I looked around and saw a figure by the balcony.
"Hey, I'm over here." Said the figure.
I walked over and the magnificent Gal Gadot finally came into view.
"Hi, I'm Jackson. I'm here to deliver the script to you Ms Gadot." I muttered nervously.
"Hi Jackson. Nice to meet you. Please, call me Gal. Thanks for bringing this over." She said, taking the script from my hands.
I looked up and that's when I noticed something unusual about her face. Her eyes were red and there were bags under them. It looked like she's been crying. I'm not usually one to pry, but something me in at the moment nudged me to say something.
"Um..Gal. I don't mean to intrude, but are you feeling ok? It looked to me like you've been crying." I asked with a reserved voice.
"Oh wow, is it that obvious?" Gal asked as she rubs her eyes with her hand.
"Yea, just a little." I responded.
"Well, Jackson. You are very observant...and yes, I have been crying". Gal said. "I found out some bad news today."
"I'm sorry to hear that Gal. Do you need someone to talk to?" I asked, fully expecting her to say no since we just met.
"Well actually, yes. I've been wanting to vent to someone all day" Gal exclaimed. "You sure you want to be that person? You can still back out if you want."
"Yes, it's totally fine. I got nothing to do the rest of the day anyway." I responded.
Gal then motioned for me to sit down. "Well, I'm not even sure how to begin. Anyway, long story short, I found out today that my husband has been cheating on me with our babysitter. That fucking asshole has been banging some 18 year old girl behind my back for months!"
I was shocked by her forwardness and also her language. The Gal Gadot that I've seen on TV has always been so positive and radiant, who always has a smile on her face, but here now is a side of her that I never thought she had. Though understandably that she'd be this angry given the revelation about her husband's infidelity.
"Gal, I'm so sorry to hear that. That is so horrible." I said to her as I desperately look for the right words to say to make her feel better. "I know I'm only 18 and have very little life experience, but I can't for the life of me understand why any sane person would cheat on you. You're easily one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen."
Those words seemed to have made an impact on her as she looked up at me and placed her hand on mine. "Jackson, that's really sweet of you to say. You're a lot more mature than your age would suggest."
"Oh thanks. I'll take that as a compliment." I chucked in response. "Anyway, I'm glad you're cheering up a bit. I should probably get going since it's getting late."
As I start to turn to walk towards the door, Gal grabbed my hand, turned me around, and our lips met. After a few seconds, we broke away and all I could mutter was "Uh...what...wait...how...WHAT JUST HAPPEND??"
"I'm sorry Jackson. I don't know what came over me. I just felt like I wanted someone to help me forget my husband." Gal explained nervously. "I shouldn't have taken advantage of you just because you were being so nice and comforting. I'm really sorry."
"Umm no, not at all!" I quickly replied. "You weren't taken advantage of me at all. I was just really surprised because you're one of the most beautiful women on Earth and I'm a nobody 18 year old."
