Chapter 2 takes place in Sector 5 after our heroes escape from Reno and his men. Characters: Aeris x Cloud

From the moment Cloud met Aeris he was attracted to her. Her slim nubile form boasted just enough curve to hint at developed womanhood. And her dazzling green eyes had a playful gleam to them that sent butterflies fluttering in his chest. She may have been a little older than him, but she had the air of an adventurous teenager reveling in novel independence and budding maturity.
She flirted with him all the way through Sector 5, calling him her 'bodyguard' and hinting at the date she owed him in return. When they got to her house, she dialed back the flirting and introduced Cloud to her mom. Elmyra was a kind lady and thanked Cloud for saving her daughter from the Turks.
"So, Cloud," said Aeris, "What are you going to do now?"
"I need to get to sector 7," he explained, "There's a girl named Tifa who owns a bar there."
"A girl?" Aeris interrupted, "Like a girl-friend?"
Cloud shook his head quickly. "Oh, no. Just a friend." If he was being completely honest, Tifa wasn't just a friend. But she wasn't his girlfriend either, and Cloud didn't want Aeris to get the wrong impression.
Aeris seemed to relax. "Oh ok. Well you have to pass through sector 6 to get to sector 7. It's a dangerous road. I'll show you the way!"
Cloud objected, but there was no stopping her. Aeris insisted on accompanying him. Elmyra didn't put up much of a fight. After a feeble attempt to persuade Aeris to stay, she gave up. But she insisted that they wait until morning before setting out. She even invited Cloud to stay for dinner and offered him a room for the night. He accepted gratefully.
While Elmyra was preparing dinner, Aeris motioned for Cloud to follow her outside. "Psst! Hey Cloud! I want to show you something."
Cloud followed the flower girl outside and she led him behind the house. Elmyra's home was built beside a canal. Cloud could hear rushing water as they climbed the stairs. To his surprise, they came upon a garden of wild flowers -- white, yellow, and violet. He gasped. He hadn't seen anything like this in the slums of Midgar.
"What is this? How...?"
"Look over there," said Aeris, pointing.
Cloud looked and saw a waterfall pouring down from a high wall.
"There's a water treatment plant up there," said Aeris pointing to the upper plate, "This is one of the few places in the lower slums where you can find clean fresh water." She twirled around with a dazzling smile indicating the bountiful garden around her. "And with a little sunshine in the middle of the day, the flowers are able to grow! What do you think?"
"It's amazing!" said Cloud in awe, "You must put a lot of work into this garden."
"I had to gather seeds and transplant some flowers from the church," said Aeris, "But after a few years, the garden started to sustain itself!" She beamed.
"It's a miracle of nature," said Cloud. He reached down and picked a white flower. Gently, he placed it in Aeris's hair.
She smiled. "You're pretty soft for a big strong bodyguard."
They stood together, leaning against the fence, staring at the waterfall. Aeris moved closer to Cloud until their hips touched. "Hey Cloud," she said, "Thanks for helping me out today."
"No problem," he replied, "You know, I just happened to drop by..."
"Pffff!" Aeris laughed, "Master of puns now, are you?" She gave Cloud a jab with her elbow and nestled closer to him. He laughed, enjoying the feeling of her body against his. There were those butterflies again.
"Cloud," said Aeris, "I can't help but feel that there's something special about you."
Cloud thought that, if anything, she was the one who was special. But he didn't contradict her. Instead, he looked at her, taking in her beautiful face, dazzling green eyes, and long auburn hair, woven into a neat braid. Aeris looked back at him, smiling mysteriously.
"I could stare into those mako eyes all day," she said softly. Then to Cloud's surprise, she reached up and kissed him. Her soft lips brushed against his timidly and then pulled back. Cloud looked at her, stunned. Then, as if compelled by some unstoppable force, leaned down and kissed her back.
Aeris responded enthusiastically. Her lips parted, and their tongues danced together as they kissed passionately. Cloud took her in his arms and she melted into him.
A moment later, they were interrupted by Elmyra's voice calling from the house. "Hey kids! Time for dinner!"
Cloud and Aeris parted suddenly. Aeris smoothed her dress, nervously. Cloud chuckled, "Did she call us 'kids'?"
Aeris grinned, "What can I say? She's my mom!" She took Cloud's hand and they walked back to the house, his arm around her waist, and the butterflies fluttering in his chest.
