Miami Beach, Florida
White waves crashed onto the sandy shore. The movement could be seen stretching out for miles down the strip of Miami Beach. It was easier to witness from the high balcony of a hotel room. Above the beach was a clear blue sky with only a few clouds in the distance. This beautiful view was all too common for anyone who had spent much of their vacation time in south Florida. The suites were always rented out just in time for spring break. A nice hotel room bought and paid for by studio money was one way to lure Sofia Vergara to Miami. Her agent succeeded in pulling a contract with a network entirely in her favor. Andy Cohen wanted to meet with her for a cameo for the upcoming Real Housewives of Miami reunion. She accepted the offer, seeing it as easy money to support her lavish lifestyle back home in L.A.
Following her divorce last year, Sofia felt a renewed sense of freedom in life she didn't previously have. At fifty-two years old, she wanted to live it up. She had to wait until her forties to have a real career breakout in Hollywood. By this time in her life, she had achieved most things that she wanted to accomplish upon coming to America. Her son was now in his thirties, and she enjoyed motherhood from a previous marriage. The career she had in modeling had transitioned to acting. She loved being known as the one Colombian bombshell in Hollywood. Someone had once told her that she was living proof of the American Dream. That was something Sofia held in great pride, knowing she had made a successful life for herself. The level of fame she held was beyond the term 'household name', since she was recognized from simply walking down the street in a major city.
Back in L.A. she had a strong friendship with her America's Got Talent co-host Heidi Klum. It brought back memories of her early days modeling when Heidi ruled the 90s era. Back then, Sofia never dreamed she would be working alongside the woman decades into the future. After her divorce, Heidi had tried to hook her up with a new boyfriend. Sofia confided to her trustful friend that she had an appetite for a younger man. The choices that came up from offering didn't satisfy Sofia. She turned her attention to one who managed to woo her on the set. Marco Alvarez was a young man in his mid-twenties who caught Sofia's eye almost immediately when he showed up with her other assistants. She easily guessed him to be a simple errand boy for the production staff. He would come and go, carrying bags for her hairdresser and makeup artist.
When he noticed her, the young man didn't look away. He wasn't intimidated to be in the presence of a famous woman like her. That made sense to Sofia, as she figured he must have been around other celebrities in town. She liked the look he had as a young man with short black hair, brown eyes, and a clean face. He was tall and skinny, making him the opposite of the muscular hunks Heidi tried to hook her up with. Sofia liked that he wasn't scared to talk to her. First impressions were a way she often made judgements regarding men. They met over a week ago, and she quickly learned that he didn't have a girlfriend. It wouldn't have mattered if he did. Sofia would've found a way to seduce him. A young man like Marco was an easy one. Since he was single, she decided to take her time with him. There was no need to rush head over heels into a new relationship. Marco was younger than her own son, and Sofia took that into great consideration with her plans.
The luxury hotel room was a gift for him. No one at the studio asked why she demanded all of this to be paid for. Even the flight ticket was paid for by them. Sofia made the choice to fly first class, leaving Marco to take the plane without her. She gave him specific instructions, citing her need to thwart any potential photographers and fixers who could spread gossip back in Hollywood. It was an excuse to keep a distance, all to build up the temptations she had for him. What no one knew back in L.A. was the fact Sofia had her own private home in Miami. She quietly purchased a mansion on Star Island that went up for sale at the end of 2021. Only her most trusted friends were aware of this new home she made in Miami. Sofia saw it as a place for quiet vacations when she needed to slip under the radar. Her bodyguards and one agent were the only men who had stepped beyond the front doors.
Marco would be only the fourth man to step through those doors and the first one invited to her bedroom. Sofia had much planned for this day. She was confident in her own skills in the art of seduction. If he had come this far to join her in Miami, she saw no reason he would suddenly change his mind when she gave the invitation. The hotel suite was meant to give Marco a small taste of the luxurious life she lived. He came from a humble background as a working man in California. Sofia was well aware of this fact, knowing that the people like him on production crews lived paycheck to paycheck. When they first met, Sofia invited him to dinner one night. Marco explained to her he was just a man from San Diego. He had no higher education beyond high school and wasn't sure where he was going in life. This led Sofia to believe it was her duty to guide him.
To teach a man the nature of love was one thing. It was a whole other game to teach him how to love you. Maybe that was why Sofia was attracted to Marco. Then again, maybe she just needed a younger man in her life for now. He went over many questions in his head, trying to understand her attraction to him. A woman like that could have any man in the world. He knew how lucky he was that she chose to bring him into her life. He thought about the circumstances that led him to this point in his life during the first day spent in his hotel room. Sofia didn't come to visit him, instead deciding to communicate via text messages. Sofia wasn't much of a flirt. She didn't use emojis whatsoever in her messages. Most texts were a single line, quick to the point with no beating around the bush. All of this only made him feel a slight panic as he grew nervous in waiting for her to summon him.
'When I want you, I will call you. Then you will come to me.'
He memorized every word of her last text. Sofia didn't inform Marco that she was out meeting with Andy Cohen today. She kept him completely in the dark about her plans. Several hours went by, leaving Marco to wonder. Would she be taking him out to eat later? After 5 PM, he was too hungry to wait for dinner, so he called room service and ordered food. The hours continued to pass, and then finally, at 7 PM, the flat screen of his smartphone lit up. As it rang on the bed, Marco raced out the bathroom to see her name on the screen. He quickly answered, bringing it to his right ear.
"Hello, Sofia."
"My dear, Marco..."
She replied in her strong, Colombian accent. Marco expected her to continue speaking, but after a few seconds he replied.
"Do you want to see me now?"
"Yes. I want you. Can I trust you to come over if I text you my address?"
"Yes, Sofia. I'll call a taxi and make the trip."
"Good. That's what I wanted to hear from you. Come see me as soon as you can."
She hung up the phone, leaving him to hear the disconnect sound. As Marco moved it away from his face, he held it in his right hand. He didn't have to wait long for Sofia to text an address to him, complete with the zip code. Marco had never been to Miami before, so he had no idea how to explore the city. The location was on Star Island, and that would serve as important information to give to the taxi driver. He washed his face before he was ready to leave the room. Deep down, Marco knew he was being seduced by a cougar. He was willingly going on a journey to step into her den. A woman of her nature could easily eat him alive. He was aware of her hunger from the way Sofia had looked at him before this trip. When he was left alone with time to think for himself, it made him nervous. He was not scared of her, but to be alone with only his thoughts, he felt slightly timid.

1 HOUR LATER
The city skyscrapers lit up in the night. From the black sky, one could see the lights as tiny dots of glitter in the distance. Marco was able to witness this sight as the tires of the yellow cab sped down the MacArthur Causeway. The long bridge made for good sightseeing from the backseat. When they reached the toll booth leading into the island, he realized that this was an upper-class, rich neighborhood. Every house was behind a large gate and stone-walled fence. The hint of fancy cars was a blur behind some of the fences revealing driveways. A few street poles showed the way near the sidewalk. It made sense to Marco that Sofia would have a home here. He wondered who else knew about it or if this was her secret rendezvous hidden from the public world. The taxi stopped at a house with a black gateway already open, waiting for him.
Marco stepped out of the car, gazing forward at the path he would be walking soon. The walkway was made of gravel with stone rocks on the sides and a row of small, yellow ixora flowers. To the right side was another gravel area leading to a garage. The house had faded orange paint and a dark roof. His first impression was that it likely had a complete upstairs area, possibly two. He walked to the front door. It was painted black with a gold knob and a small oval with stained glass at the top. He raised his hand and knocked three times. A few seconds passed without any answer, only the sounds of grasshoppers and the chilling ambience of the night. The doorknob suddenly turned slowly and unlocked a slight passage. Marco's eyes were met with Sofia's gorgeous face looking back at him from the small opening. Only her face was visible and her light brown eyes. She smirked, revealing the red lipstick as her choice of the night.
"Hello Marco. I'm glad you've finally made it."
