The day after Jamie returned to New York City from the Castle compound he went over and visited his big brother Danny. Danny opened the door, "Well, looks who's here, what did I do wrong or forget?"
Jamie scoffed, "No, nothing Danny, can't a brother come over and visit?"
He shook his head, "No, not really Jamie. The only time I see you is at Sunday dinner or if there is something wrong." He let him in and went into the kitchen, "Want a beer, kid?"
"Sure as long as you're having one." He opened it and took a sip. "So you know last weekend was Memorial Day and Castle and Beckett had one of their patented parties."
"Yeah, I know, Erin invited me, but I wasn't quite ready. I think I'm finally putting Linda's death behind me. Hell, Valentine's Day was really my coming out party, even though I wasn't quite ready, Baez pulled me out, kicking and screaming. I'm glad she did, I'll never be able to replace Linda, but I know I have to move on. So did you enjoy yourself at the party?"
Jamie grinned at him, "So you know Eddie and I went?"
"Hey kid, I'm a New York City first class detective, of course I know, that and Baez told me you kidnapped her to join you, slick move."
He chuckled, "I know she couldn't keep her mouth shut, even though I never asked her too. So you're okay with me going? I know dad and Baker didn't go because of your feelings. I wasn't going to go, but Erin begged me to join her and I really did want to go."
"Sure I'm okay and like I said, if invited for the Fourth, I'll probably go. So what is the reason, other than having Baez out you about going to the Hamptons for Memorial Day?"
"Well, I was thinking Jack had his eighteenth birthday and you know you and I sorta gave Nicky a real sendoff to adulthood. I was wondering if you decided if you were going to do something for him. I hate bringing it up, because I knew Erin and Linda were going to drag him into adulthood."
Danny took a big swig of his beer and went and got another one, "Yeah, I know I've been putting it off. I really wanted to give him an eighteenth birthday he'd never forget, but just couldn't do it thinking about what Linda was planning. So why are you bringing it up now?"
"Well Danny, Erin and I tossed it around while in the Hamptons and came up with an idea, but didn't want to do anything without running it past you first."
Danny took a seat at the kitchen table, "So why don't you tell me what you two discussed."
Jamie finished his beer and went and got another. He sat down across from Danny, "Now this was only an idea. We can scrap it all if you don't like it or want to change anything, but we thought we could have four of our very close friends give him an evening he'd never forget."
"Okay Jamie, quit beating around the bush, who did you line-up for Jack?"
Jamie took another gulp of his beer, "Erin wanted to be involved seeing she was there for Nicky and Nicky wants to help out knowing how shy Jack can be sometimes."
Danny nodded, "Those two would be great for Jack, but you said four ladies, who else did you persuade to take my son's virginity?"
Jamie scoffed, "Ah, forget it Danny, Jack isn't a virgin, he told me he lost it even before prom."
Danny chuckled, "Yeah, I know, but he was fumbling around and this would hone-in on some needed skills; out with it, who else?"
Jamie blurted it out, "Eddie and Alexis Castle. We figured one brunette, one blonde, one redhead and one MILF."
Danny laughed out loud, "Erin was okay being called a MILF?"
Jamie shook his head, "That's just between the two of us. She'd kill us both if she heard us call her that, even though it is a complement. So what do you think? Do you think they could handle Jack and lead him to the promised land?"
Danny let out a little laugh, "Hell, I wouldn't mind having that line-up. No offense about Eddie, I know she's been a real help with Jack and Sean and you know I really appreciate her."
"Okay so Erin and I talked to Alexis and Eddie and they were more than happy to help out. Erin and Nicky were the two who proposed the entire deal seeing how you and I helped Nicky; she just wanted to return the favor."
Yeah, so when do they want this to happen?"
"Well, they figured it's all up to you. They know Jack will be back from college this coming weekend and we'd like it done before Eddie and my bachelor parties and before our wedding."
"Let me call Jack and see when he would like to have a dinner out with his aunt and cousin. I sure as hell don't want to tell him we're setting him up with four women, he'd never come home."
"Okay so let me know and thanks for not being upset about Memorial Day."
"No problem, kid, if I would have had my head on straight, I would have joined you guys too. Just don't walk on eggshells any longer. I'm trying to get past it and slowly, but surely I'm getting better. I'll give you a call and let you know."
Jamie left and waited for a call from Danny.
Danny called him the following evening and he sounded happy, "Hey kiddo, I spoke with Jack and you were correct. He's coming home on Friday and he already has plans for the weekend. I convinced him to clear next Saturday. He doesn't know what is going on and all I told him was that he will be expected at his Aunt's apartment Saturday in the early afternoon. He had Sunday open, but I figured with our family dinner on Sunday, it would be better to wait till next weekend."
Jamie added, "That sounds like a plan Danny. I'll talk to Eddie and make sure she clears her calendar for Saturday. I'll touch base with Erin and make sure it works for her. She can give Alexis a call. You may want to clear your schedule for Saturday too. If you remember correctly when you and I helped Nicky with her problem, Erin was there to take some of the pressure off of her. Erin was a lifesaver and with four women scheduled to bring Jack into adulthood, he may need his father there to take the same pressure off of him."
Danny scoffed, "When did you suddenly become so smart? Okay, I'm stay near Erin's apartment and may even pop in to see if her needs saving."
"Real nice predicament to be in huh?"
Saturday came and even though it was just a little after noon, Jack was dressed in a sharp two-piece suit; tie and starched white shirt. He even polished his dress shoes. He turned to Danny, "So what do you think Dad, sophisticated enough for Aunt Erin and cousin Nicky?"
Danny didn't tell him he wouldn't be wearing it long, "Sharp, kid you look like you should be on top of a wedding cake. I'll drop you off; remember I'll have my cell with me if you need any help."
Jack stared at him, "Why would I need help?"
He gave him a weak smile, "No reason, just remember I'll be nearby if you need me. Come on, I'll drive you."
They arrived at Erin's apartment and as Jack stepped out, he peaked back in, "I have a sneaky suspicion of what is going on here. Yeah, you better keep you cell on Dad. I just may need some help."
