: This didn't happen. It's all fiction. I don't know any of the participants in this story nor how they really are. This is just an expressive piece of literature that came out of my head. Also, in case you were having any doubts, this has time travel. I won't receive any monetary gain for this.
"If time travel is possible, where are the tourists from the future?"
â Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time
One upon a when, there was a star like many other stars. It was shiny, heated and it wasn't as big as others, but even if there was nothing special about it, the star proved to be the only needed factor to start a whole revolution. Scientific minds started to talk about this process as "The Super Nova That Started It All". That insignificant and useless star in the middle of an ocean of stars created galaxies in one of the biggest universes ever by itself, without even knowing. And with the passing of time it created life. And, like on other occasions, with life came the humans.
The humans, as in many other places, grew and evolved as the whens passed until they reached their perfect and most harmonious stage. No more world hunger, no more poverty, no more disadvantages for anyone, no more bad music. And this entire utopian world was the work of two of the most ignored and cut off demographics of their time: lesbian girls.
The girls were considered goddesses sent to Earth to save humanity in a future when, but in their respective age they were misunderstood, especially in their time as teenagers. Because being a lesbian, a woman and a teenager of that age meant you didn't mean anything to anyone. When they became important, the girls were renamed as "The Saviors" and considered two of the most glorious people that ever lived on that Earth. Their real names were Bella R. Hook and Zendaya "Ze" Thurman, and this is their story.
Bella and Ze were conceived on the same day, at the same place and at the same hour, as their mothers were so drunk and horny they found a pair of perfect replacements for their unaccounted-for prom dates. If it weren't for their dates suddenly running off, neither Bella nor Ze would have being born.
At first, neither of them wanted a baby but for circumstances beyond their power they decided to keep them. When they were born, only Ze came to the world with a father as Bella's mom --being a free, spiritual and liberal woman-- decided to raise her kid alone. Ze's mother contacted her prom fuck and they decided to marry and raised the child together.
As time passed and the mothers and daughters got two years older, they moved to different houses. Ze's family needed to change their apartment for a house in the suburbs thanks to her mom's pregnancy. Bella's mom had just written one of the biggest books of her writing career ("How To Be A Single Feminist Mom (And Not Brag About It)" was a hit all over the world) and decided to buy a house to live in instead of her folk's. By chance, or maybe by destiny, they became neighbors.
"Hey, neighbors!" she cheered from the other side of the street as both of their houses started to fill with their furniture and walk towards the happy couple.
Ze's mom faked a smile and waved at her.
"Hey, honey, turn around - a crazy white girl is coming towards us" she whispered at her husband.
"Honey, I told you to not--" she saw Bella's mom getting closer with her hippie-like dress, hairband with a few daisies, hair made a mess and bare feet "Oh, shit that's a crazy white lady"
"Told ya"
"Hey, there" the hippie woman had a broad smile on her face, she was clearly tipsy "Name's Rachel" she extended her right hand while she held an almost empty bottle of wine with the other ". Rachel Hook. Nice to meet ya"
"Melissa Norman" said the married woman as she shook Rachel's hand and gave her a fake smile "Call me Mel"
"And you must be Mister Norman, right?"
"Indeed" Mel's husband shook Rachel's hand as well "Norman Norman"
"Oof... Your parents must hate you"
"Yeah, I get that a lot"
Rachel drank the remaining wine straight from the bottle in front of the couple.
"Oh, you're pregnant" Mel was 8 months pregnant.
"Wow, how did you notice?" the sarcasm and condescension could be felt from a mile away, but Rachel didn't catch it in her current state.
"I have a girl too. She's two. She must be sleeping in her crib right now because I can't hear her cries right now. She's got lungs. She might need them if anyone ever tries to rape her" she tried to take another sip from the bottle but noticed it was empty and dropped it on her neighbor's yard.
"We have another girl. Same age and everything" said Norman. Mel attacked him with her sight.
"Oh, really? Then they must become playmates. My daughter has been very lonely for far too long and the doctor said this baby wasn't going to last another birth" she patted her vagina through her dress ". I think she needs some company"
"Sure, we can do that" this time Mel killed Norman with her sight.
"Perfect, perfect, perfect!" she hugged Norman and then his wife "Oh, it was so nice to meet you, guys. I can't wait for our daughters to become friends and then we'll become friends as well" one of the moving guys screamed at Rachel "Well, it seem they're looking for me somewhere else. See you around, neighbors!"
As she walked, Rachel's dress started to get uplifted by the air revealing her completely lack of underwear.
"She seemed fine" added Norman.
"Oh, you just say that because she's white"
"Honey, no I didn't!"
"Well, I don't care if she looks nice to you, but that woman is never getting near our two girls, understand? I can't even imagine what kind of hell her girl is going through"
Four months after giving birth to Laura, Mel found herself at a crossroads. She needed to do some after-hours work in the station and Norman was busy dealing with some problems at the firm and no nannies were on service that night. She hadn't made any new friends in the neighborhood and her and Norman's parents were unavailable to drive to the house that night. After thinking it through and not finding another solution she made a call.
"Hello, Rachel. It's Mel, your neighbor"
"Mel! Holy shit! This is the first time you call me, isn't it?"
"Yeah... Listen, I need a favor--"
Mel tasked Rachel with taking care of the girls and even took hers to the house. It was 8pm when she made the call. She returned home by 4am where she found Rachel in the living room drinking a bottle of wine.
"It's mine, don't worry about it. I can see it in your face" she took a sip and afterwards reached towards Mel "Want some?" Mel took the bottle and drank some "The girls have been sleeping since 10:30 and the baby finally decided to do the same an hour later"
"Did you...?" she took a sit next to her on the sofa and returned the bottle.
"Yes, I did tuck her. I've been mom to a baby before"
Mel's preoccupations vanished. Maybe Rachel was drunk and still not using any footwear or underwear, but she knew how to handle herself doing mom duty.
"Thank you"
"I wrote a mommy book" burped out the single mom.
"Excuse me?"
"A mommy book. '
How To Be A Single Feminist Mother
' or some shit like that. I know how to take care of a child, in case you were having any doubts" she took another sip.
Mel just stayed silent and uncomfortable as she wished for the furniture to swallow her.
"You don't have to say anything. It's okay. I'm used to it" Rachel stood up and walked towards the door "Oh, two things. Bella is staying to sleep here because I don't want to wake up your daughter, okay? (She's really beautiful, by the way. It must be from the mother's side). And I never in a million years would've thought you two could last this long."
"Is it because...?" Mel was starting to get angry, but Rachel cut her off.
"Nahnahnah. Nah, nah. It's not that. I 100% support you in that aspect. I was thinking about what you guys like better"
"I don't know what you--"
"Oh... hohohoho. You know what it means" Rachel chugged the last of her bottle and then left it on the floor "It was yours. I have one of the same in my house. I'll bring it when I come for Bella" and with that, Rachel left the house and stumbled her way towards her own.
Mel just stayed in place looking at the space where Rachael had been and just stared at it. When she stood up, she grabbed the empty bottle of wine, closed her door and poured herself some whiskey on the rocks.
She went upstairs and opened the door to her older daughter's room. She was sharing her bed with a redheaded girl of the same age. Around the bed there were some dolls from the other girl. What was her name again?
"It's Bella" she thought ". Bella Hook" she took a sip from her glass "Ze really needs a friend and Rachael isn't as bad after all" she took a longer sip "That last comment was uncalled for though"
She closed the door and let the girls rest for the night.
A year later, as she was starting to advance in the ranks at the police station, Mel divorced from Norman and returned to her previous last name: Thurman. She gave it to her daughters too. This happened at the same time Rachael started to invite a lot of female fans to her house.
The girls and their mothers grew up as all living things do. By the age of 23, Rachael had come out of the closet to Mel, telling her she couldn't keep that part of her life a secret and to not worry as what she felt for her was only platonic and by 24 she was the first gay writer to ever be at top of the
New Essex Times
list (her book "
How To Be A Mom And Staying True To Yourself (And Other Top Advices)
" was a hit all over the world. Mel wouldn't come out until after she became Cosmotown's youngest and first black female Sheriff by the age of 35.
Rachael stopped drinking at the age of 30 when she was found by her then 12 year old daughter shitfaced outside of her house at 3:30am. This moment in both of their lives distanced their relationship. It wasn't until 3 years later when Rachael found a new obsession: Missy McGuffin, a senior girl that attended the same high school as Bella and Ze. After spending half of the semester talking to her and finding her in a gay nightclub on April 26
th
, she took the nineteen year old to her house where a sleep deprived Bella was doing homework when they started having sex in Rachael's bedroom. She never knew Bella had a crush on her. This reduced Bella's desire to stay at home and she started to go out with Ze even more.
As of Mel, she was always away from home. Her daughters became autonomous at a very young age and young Laura showed some promise that was only noticed by her mother when she received a letter from Yale telling her that Laura was accepted at their main campus in New York when she graduated from high school. Ze never got the attention she wanted and was always sidelined and there was nothing she could do as she had almost no special ability. Her grades were normal, her essays were okay and she didn't have any chance of being on a reality show like
The Sound
or
Big Sister
. She was a dot in a sea of dots and her sister was a straight line.
The bond between Bella and Ze only grew from the moment they shared that bed at the early age of 2. Since then they had become best friends. They went to the same schools, had similar tastes and what really sealed their friendship was when, at the age of 14, they came out to each other. They never kissed or anything like that. They didn't look at each other in that way, not even when they started to run away from home and stay at one of the abandoned houses in the old neighborhood.
Usually they spent their time inside a garage that they transformed into their own safe place. While some children had tree houses, Bella and Ze had their garage that became their refuge when they most needed one. They stayed there after school, skating their way towards the place and went back home before the sun went down to avoid problems on the road. It didn't bother them to have to travel such a long way every day because it became a regular thing to them as well as the idea of homosexuality and open relationships and talking about girls. In the summer they could spend all the time in the world in that place. Nobody would bother them. It was a safe haven.
