It was the first time she'd flown to him. After months of talking she couldn't ignore the desire to see him any longer. A thousand times they've talked about how it would be to hold each other, to lay down and hold hands and just comfort one another. A thousand times she had wrapped herself in her blanket, holding a stuffed animal instead of him. But that day it would change.
She flew to him in the morning and planned on staying three days. It's all she could ask for, Wizard was working every day and he had cleared a weekend only for her. On Friday morning she got ready, flew to him for only a few hours and landed in London by noon. After her travel, Fairy didn't nearly look as good as she wanted, so she stole herself away to a restroom and changed her clothes, fixed her hair, sprayed on some perfume and put the heels on her bought her some time ago.
A last check in the mirror. Something was missing. She reached into her back and pulled out a small satin bow with longer ends and tied it into her hair. She wanted to look cute but sexy, desirable but effortless.
Her curls loosely draped over her shoulders and her dress accentuated her curves perfectly. The little makeup she wore complimented her best features and her eyelashes were curved and long, perfect for batting them at him. She was ready.
She looked at her phone and saw his text, he waited for her outside. One last deep breath and she was out and about, floating to the destination.
She looked for him through the crowd of people but she was shorter than most. He spotted her first and his heart skipped a beat. The moment was there, he would actually get to see her, smell her, hold her and kiss her hand. Listen to her laugh and watch her lips curve up. Play with her gorgeous red hair and just enjoy her presence.
His eyes were fixed on her and he whispered to himself to be cool and normal. He didn't want to show any signs of nervousness.
She was only a few feet away when she spotted him too. A wide smile washed over face and her gaze roamed from his face down his body and stopped at a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Her eyebrows scrunched and her smile turned into a heartfelt frown. She didn't expect him to show up so romantically. After all, they didn't label this weekend at all. It was just her coming over.
She can't to a halt before him and breathed a hello. "Hi" he returned. "These are for you."
Her gaze averted away from his deep warm eyes to the flowers and her expression changed into a touched appreciation. "Thank you. They're wonderful" she said. She let go of her luggage and took the bouquet from his hands. As soon as his arms were free she put her arms around his neck and hugged him.
He took a moment before his arms stole around her back and pulled her in for a tight embrace. His nose buried in her curls and her face smushed against his shoulder, they stood there for what felt like minutes. When she let go, she placed a quick kiss to his cheek and whispered another "thank you" before beaming up with him in delight.
He blushed.
Then he cleared his throat and grabbed her luggage. "Shall we?" She nodded and he lead the way to his car. He used his hand on the small of her back to guide her to the right car. They were silent, before he asked her how the flight was and she yapped on about what happened. Her nervous tick of either talking too much or saying nothing at all worked like usual.
In the car she nuzzled into the passenger seat and glanced over to him driving. His arm muscles flexed and she hid a smile. Then she looked out the window. They made some small talk before he asked her if she was hungry. Was she? She couldn't tell. The rollercoaster of nervousness messed up her stomach but counting the hours, she should probably eat. "What about you?" She asked him back.
"I could eat."
"Anything particular you want?" She asked him.
"Whatever you want. You know I'm not picky."
"Okay." She was out of ideas. She was sweating and his smell was intoxicating and filling the whole car. She couldn't focus on anything she would like to eat.
"What would you like, fairy?" He asked. He maneuvered them into the highway now.
