Dreams to fantasy
They didn't wake in each other's arms but when her eyes flitted open in the early morning glow she did notice his hand on top of hers with his fingers gently curled under her fingers. Knowing his past so well she felt a pang of heartache for all that has happened to him and began thinking of the afternoon before when she surprised him when he came home from work and then realizing that the surprise was actually on her. Reliving the carnal ecstasy that occurred on the table downstairs she actually took a shuddering breath; She has never felt that good.
Being a neatnick she then thought of the table and that she would have to scrub the heck out of it before she could eat there again. Then again, she thought, it was spectacular.
With all that has gone on over the last few months it was more than a bit overwhelming. Fred never remarried and for that matter she didn't think he had ever dated anyone. At least he never mentioned anyone. With her circumstances different than his, but his time of freedom under his belt he sure has adjusted well after the divorce. He is in his element here north of the Canyon. So remote, just the way he likes it. His house has been a dream of his for a lifetime and finally being able to see it she realized that even though they were so far from civilization it was what he needed.
She had flown out to St. George on a puddle jumper and then rented a car for the two-hour drive to the Jacobs lake inn where she got a room. She did not want to intrude and figured if he wasn't home it would make a great vacation.
He was so happy to hear she surprised him and immediately gave her directions to the house. She drove the desolate road from the North Rim drive and wondered how he did this in the winter with the snow that she had seen in his pictures. When she pulled up to the house she was amazed at the design. The north and south walls on the first floor resembled of a log cabin and on East and west sides Floor to ceiling windows. The windows on the second floor actually wrapped the whole distance around the house. She didn't notice last night but he didn't even have curtains. She looked around in a moment of panic because she didn't notice that last night now that the sun was rising, she didn't know how she was going to get up and go to the bathroom even because even the doors were glass up here. The Ceiling even has a huge skylight that opened up to the night air and they fell asleep talking to each other while looking at the stars. She thought of taking the sheet with her to the bathroom but then what? What does she do with the sheet?
She gently tugged the sheet off of him, worrying she might wake him. He rolled over but remained asleep. She smiled, thinking that all those years that he was married to that bitch, there she said it she thought, he had such concentration wrinkles on his face. Lying here, he looked so peaceful and content and she wondered how long that it has been since he has been this way. She slid out of bed wrapping the sheet around her trying not to drag it on the floor and walked into the bathroom. Looking around for a place to hang the sheet so as to hide herself in the bathroom because she could still see him laying down on the bed. God this was nerve-wracking. How the hell does he do this? She didn't know he was such an exhibitionist. She decided she was just going to wrap the sheet around herself and bunch it all up while she relieved herself. She gently closed the glass door and quicker than what felt like a blink of an eye all the windows in the bathroom turned opaque and she jumped with a start and a slight squeak escaped her lips at the sudden change. She couldn't see through them but the light filtered in from the rising sun. She breathed a sigh of relief and didn't realize how tense she was just at the thought of being seen going to the bathroom.
When she finished and pulled the door open again all the windows became clear again and she had seen he was sitting up in bed with a soft smile on his face with sleepy eyes.
Turning to her his smile brightened and she greeted him with one too. She felt a bit awkward and realizing it has been so long since she has been with a man and waking up to him really brightened her smile.
"Did you sleep ok?" he asked.
She padded over to the bed, sheet surrounding her. "I did until I found out you were an exhibitionist," she said laughing.
The look on his face showed that he didn't understand. She glanced around the room waving her arm around the room and the makeshift toga she had on slipped off her shoulder revealing a breast which stopped his gaze from what she was pointing out causing him to raise his eyebrow. She bit her lower lip and realized she had made his mind go into a funny stupor and she laughed covering her breast with the now warm and erect nipple.
The brief flash, now over, he snapped back to attention. "Sorry" he said with a sheepish grin that made her smile now too. Oh, hell she thought and dropped the sheet all together running the last few steps to the bed to climb into his arms so he could cover her from the outside.
