So some slight disclaimers before the ball gets rolling
1. For those of you who normally follow my work this isn't something I usually write along the lines of, I do not apologize for that, but I know some of you enjoy my usual stuff, if that is you and you want to read something along those lines, don't worry, more of that is coming. This story was inspired by a user named, Cumberland, or something along those lines.
2. While I do not use characters by other people in this story, stories may be mentioned as part of the setting.
3. Trying something ScribeofDomina did on a smaller scale (as in I am going to be doing it on a smaller scale, but I am not going to spoil the surprise as to what it is, see if you can figure it out.)
4. Never been to a convention like this before, so, if this doesn't 100% fit with the idea of what the event people had in mind, I do apologize.
Okay, enough disclaimers, see you at Bound and Written: The Literotica Convention
The Grand City, yeah I know, it is our nation's capital, but as have never been big on politics I have never really had a reason to go there, until I saw the notice on Literotica.
COME ALL LITEROTICA FANS AND AUTHORS TO BOUND AND WRITTEN THE LITEROTICA CONVENTION. PANELS, WORKSHOPS, MEET AND GREETS WITH OTHER FANS AND YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND/OR TO GET YOUR TICKETS TODAY.
The word HERE was a hyperlink which sure enough took you to the convention page, though page is an understatement as it was more like a mini-site, full of information including dates, ticket prices, even a list of the panels, and other events, of course there was also a link to the The Grand City Hotel's website, which is where the convention would be held, you were advised to get your ticket first though as apparently a deal had been struck with the hotel that when you bought a ticket you would be given a code to use at checkout for your room to get a discount on the room. As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to go.
A few weeks passed and soon the date I had circled on my calendar was here, I loaded up my suitcase, got in my car and drove off towards The Grand City. I checked in two days before even the first day of the convention. Like I said before this was our nation's capital so I decided to spend the first day here getting situated and checking out where a first timer must go using AI and then the next full day checking out the city itself. Checking out the monuments was pretty cool, and I even saw some of the places I had only seen on TV, a few on the news because of some of the things in our last elections, but most of them were places I had seen on TV shows. As I toured the city, I walked down in to the subway and I chuckled at a thought that just popped in to my head. "The Circle Line, The Circle Line, that is all anybody talked about, Metro Hearts was way better though, moodier, darker, characters with emotions, not all train crashes and drama and unresolved plots, well except the one, stupid cliffhanger at the end of the Season 1 Finale, when the show got canceled it was left unresolved, I HATED that!" I thought to myself and then, I saw it, where I was I mean, Blue Line, Station 7. This was the main station that got used in Episode 12 "The Girl on the Blue Line" I freaked out a little, sort of a way a fan freaks out at seeing their favorite star. My excited squeal must have been heard despite my best efforts because a few people looked my way, I didn't really mind too many of them, except one, a short woman, wearing mirrored sunglasses looked right at me and smiled, she drew me to her with that look.
"Gotta say," she said "Never seen somebody so excited to see a subway station before," she said as she walked over to me.
"Sorry about that," I said "I sort of remembered a TV show I really liked that did an episode here once," I told her.
"Oh, well then maybe you would like me to get a picture of you here," she said. I nearly jumped through the roof in joy as I handed her my phone.
"Would you, please?" I asked, trying to maintain my excitement. So she did, one with my phone and for some strange reason, one with hers. She handed me back my phone before heading for the stairs. "Hey, I didn't get you name," I said.
"No, you didn't," she said with a smirk as she headed up the stairs leaving me to catch my train. I finished my TV tour, and returned to the hotel where I had dinner and then headed to bed, excited to attend the convention which started tomorrow.
The next evening was the Mix and Mingle Mixer, a mixer designed for people to meet in the grand ballroom, as I walked up to a table in front of the ballroom, I showed them my phone and the pass that I had bought.
"Thank you," the person behind the table said as they handed me a packet. The person behind the table explained that the packet contained all the information I would need for the convention and my lanyard with pass, which I needed to wear at all times while on the convention floor. For the two mixer events I was at table 3 on the left side. I thanked them and left, returning to my room briefly to put down the packet, after all, most of the info was the schedule, which wouldn't really be needed until tomorrow anyhow, I then put the lanyard on and returned to the mixer itself.
By the time I got back, the mixer was in full swing. Along the left and right sides of The Grand Ballroom, clusters of tables and serving stations filled the space, leaving the wide center open.
In the middle of the room was a dance floor, surrounded by a waist-high fence -- more for decoration than anything functional. The fence had three gaps wide enough for two people to pass through side by side: one near each table area, and a third about ten paces from the double doors I had just come through. The dance floor stretched nearly the full length of the room, framed by the fence, with those ten paces leading to a low stage where the Smooth Swingers Jazz Quartet was setting up. I remembered from my research that this wasn't the house band; Literotica had to hire them specially for the night, along with all the wait staff. Apparently, thanks to the nature of the site, pretty much no one from the regular staff wanted anything to do with the convention itself.
And the reason for that was clear when it came to the wait staff, the wait staff was split in to four teams 2 teams of men who were on the right side of the room, and two teams of women who were on the left side. One team of each gender were serving the guests, as in drinks and snacks and the other team was serving the guests in other, more erotic ways, some were tied to tables, getting foods and drinks drank and eaten off of them, others were sitting in the laps of the patrons being hugged, kissed and fondled. I took a drink from one of the trays of the food and drink waitresses and made my way to the table I had been assigned. As I sat there, and sipped my drink, I looked across the dance floor and saw...HER. I actually had to rub my eyes to make sure they were not playing tricks on me, but sure enough, they were not, it was the woman from the subway station. She was on the other side of the room in the part that the male wait staff was, and I could have sworn she looked back at me as well. My thoughts were interrupted though by one of the waitresses who must have tripped or something, because she fell over my chair's armrest and right in to my lap.
"Whoops, sorry about that," she said with a smile.
"Not a problem," I paused to read her name tag from the Sweet Treats Catering Company "Jillian, I am just glad your tray was empty," I added.
"I know right, that would have been messy if it wasn't," she responded with a chuckle. I dunno, something in the chuckle I just couldn't resist and I gave her cheek a kiss, to which her smile grew. I wanted to hear more of her chuckle though so I tickled her ribs lightly and she started laughing. Oh how I loved that laugh, what I didn't like though was the fact that she told me she had to get back to work, so we (sadly for me) said our good-byes and she left to get her tray refilled, hopefully she was more careful when her tray was full.
A while later I headed over to the woman who I had seen at the subway station and started talking to her. She had on a black dress that sparkled in three colors, lime green, pink, and blue, hers looked more like the lime green sparkles were showing off.
"Hello again," I said.
"Hi there," she said, though there was some slight confusion in her voice, I just chalked it up to her meeting lots of people during the course of the day and therefore forgetting me.
"We saw each other at the subway station, you took my picture," I said. She smiled and nodded.
