Cheyenne
Every time I walked into my new home I still gasp at what Adrian had done while we were away. "It still gets to me."
I put my bag down on the front hall table and it slid to the ground. As I bent down to pick it up, I didn't feel too good. From far away I heard Jordan's voice.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
Jordan
I saw Cheyenne fall to the floor and everything happened almost in slow motion.
"Cheyenne, oh God, Cheyenne." I reached for the phone and dialed the driver's number.
"Bring the car back. We need to go to University Hospital." I threw the handset back into the cradle and scooped Cheyenne from the floor and raced back downstairs.
When we reached the hospital, I didn't bother with a gurney. I wasn't willing to let her go.
"Can someone help me please?"
A nurse came up to me and said, "Take her in there, please. I'll get the doctor." A few minutes later, a young female doctor came into the little examination room.
"What happened?" She was looking into Cheyenne's eyes and taking her pulse.
"We got home and she just fainted."
"What's her name?"
"Cheyenne, Cheyenne Colt."
"Ok and yours?"
"Jordan. What's wrong with her?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out. Now, Jordan, if you'll wait outside. I'll let you know as soon as we know something." She pushed me out the door. There was nothing I could do but wait.
When the doctor came out of the exam room, she approached me with a calm expression on her face.
"Mr. Colt. I'm Dr. Simms. You can go see your wife now."
"Is she OK, doctor?"
"Sydney, please and I'll let her tell you. She's awake and she can go home but you need to make another appointment for her, preferably within the next two weeks. Now go see your wife. She wants to see you." The doctor left and I raced to the door and slowly pushed it open.
The nurse turned to leave looking at Cheyenne one last time and said, "Take you're time, remember to check out when you leave." When the nurse had left, I turned to Cheyenne and looked at her worriedly.
"Baby, what's going on?" Cheyenne smiled at me like nothing was wrong and held out her hand.
"Come here a minute. I need to tell you something." I sat down next to her on the bed and took her hands in mine.
"Tell me, please."
"You remember that first night in Hawaii when we were walking on the beach and we were talking?"
"Yeah, I remember, we were talking about kids, but what has that got to do with . . . Oh my God. You're pregnant, aren't you?" I looked at her and I felt my frown lift as the realization dawned on me.
"Are you happy about it?" Cheyenne asked carefully.
"Happy, if we weren't in a hospital I'd shout with joy. Cheyenne this is the best news ever. Are you happy about this?" I looked at her trying to read her expression.
"Yes, oh yes, Jordan. I suddenly feel like I've been put on earth to be this baby's mother." Cheyenne's face was radiating happiness as we walked from the hospital. The worried driver was still standing beside the car.
"Oh, thank goodness you're ok, Mrs. Colt. We were so worried," the driver said.
"Not to worry Raul, it was good news. We're going to be parents." I smiled as I ushered her into the car. Not for all the tea in China could anyone wipe the smile from my face that night.

"Well does everybody know then?" Jordan asked me the next day.
"Yes, they are all surprised. That conference call thing was a good idea by the way. Better than having a party, 'cause you can hang up on anyone you don't want to talk to," I said, referring to Jordan's brother Adam, who started laughing and called Jordan an idiot. Jordan was the one to hang up on him, before I could get angry.
"Well, it's done and no one can change it and more importantly no one can take it away. Come here." Jordan held out his hand and brought me closer to him so I could sit in his lap. He just held me for a second and then let me go.
"We should get back to work. We're going to have much to accomplish before you go on maternity leave." Jordan smiled at me.
"Oh, crap Jordan, don't even go there. I'm roughly nine weeks along and I can work right up till the last month. Even the doctor said so. So don't even think about telling me to sit at home and do nothing, because I won't have it." I turned and walked from Jordan's office to my own. He better not think to pull any, barefoot in the kitchen shit with me.
Jordan
That wasn't what I meant but I'll let her go for now and would make an official appointment with her later and speak to her.

I looked up at the knock on the door. When it opened and saw it was Cheyenne I smiled but looked down at my watch anyway to check if she was on time. She was. I couldn't help but watch her walk into the office.
My beautiful, petit five foot, six-inch wife with short golden curls that belonged on my four-year-old niece had big gorgeous eyes that were bluer than the deep ocean with fantastic legs, breasts that would fill his hands perfectly and a mouth made for sin.
"I know that mouth could make my world come apart. She does it every morning when she smiles," I thought. Hell, I could think of a few more things she could do with that mouth.
"So, what's this about Jordan? Official appointments? That's a new one." Cheyenne smiled at me.
"Sit down, Cheyenne I have business to discuss with you." I sat back in my chair and looked at Cheyenne.
"You're my wife now and part of my life, personally as well as professionally, seeing that you work for me. I have created a position in the company, well, actually I've created two. The people I have in mind for both positions, you know them and I want to run this by you. The first position is a Legal Executive Director. I wanted to know what you thought about approaching Chloe for that particular job." I studied her face so I could see the emotions play with her features.
"I think it's a great idea. It's high time we get a lawyer on the payroll. It's a waste paying a firm. What about the second position?" She asked, warming to the task.
"The second position's official title will be President of Contracts and Operations. It will entitle the person to sit in on all new and current meetings with our clients and give that person leave to deal with clients when Hawke or I are not here and handle clients in their own capacity and generally keeping the client happy," I explained.
"Well, if it means that it will take work from you, I'm all for it." Cheyenne smiled that thousand-watt smile.
"That's the thing. It won't."
"Well, what's the point of creating the position?" Cheyenne looked at me like I'd lost it.
"I feel that our clients should get more from us, otherwise why would they stay here instead of going to another company. I feel we don't offer the people we work with enough. It's something I want to get off the ground straight away, as I've got other things within the company I want to take care of." I was looking at Cheyenne with anticipation, hoping she was up for the task.
"What will you be busy with?"
"Well, seeing as how a few things have come to light in recent weeks, I want to take a look at personnel contracts. I'm sorry to say, but since we found out you're pregnant, I've noticed that there are a few other women that are to. I had a look at your contract and realized that maternity leave; sick leave and things like that just aren't up to standard. Ever since I took the business over from my father I just took it for granted that these things were in place but I soon realized I've been sadly mistaken." She nodded her head at this but said nothing. I pushed further.
"So what do you say, think you're up to the job?"
"Me? Jordan what do I know about the security business?" God, you'd think that I have two heads, the way she was looking at me.
"I know, but you've been here long enough to know the business. The position will entitle you help out with clients, none of the cloak and dagger stuff." I looked anxiously at her.
"Are you interested? In the job I mean?" I looked at her and hoped, no prayed, she would say yes.
"Ok, I'll do it. I'll see the next couple of months as my trial run, until I go on maternity leave. Then you can decide if you still want me for the position. As for the other one, I'll contact Chloe and set up a meeting for us." She got up and looked at my schedule.
"I'll set up something for tomorrow?" she asked.
"Yes, that will be fine and I want you to hire my next secretary yourself. Just because I don't have you for a secretary doesn't mean I don't want things run the same way." I got up from my chair, took her in my arms and kissed her soundly on the mouth.
"Welcome to the world of being in management. You're going to need it." Cheyenne scowled at me and I couldn't help but laugh at the look on her face.
Cheyenne
The next day was a great day for both Jordan and me. Chloe had come and gone and Jordan was still glowing from the after effects of their meeting. You'd think he'd given birth or something.
Jordan was still basking in his good fortune when I walked into his office door without knocking. He looked up and saw me and got a weird expression on his face.
I was dressed in a flowing, sky-blue summer dress that reached about mid thigh with high-heeled white sandals. My hair, like always was carefree and my face radiantly shining. It had been ever since I found out I was pregnant.
